Love your perspective on how you modulate. That last one sound like a move I would do; but lately I’ve been keeping it simple. Just at the end of the phrase on C make it a sus11 then go up to C# it will put you in F#!!!
Thanks for your lessons KC, I really wished to learn this concept but never got it from any other TH-cam channel. Many thanks. I'm from Zimbabwe and would greatly appreciate it if you also cover a lesson on application of the Dorian , Phrygian etc scales in CCM. Blessings
Thanks so much… Give me other songs that TH-cam won’t file a copyright claim??? Hahaha!!! TH-cam Strikes Against channel for using other artists songs 🤣🤣🤣
To my ears - (which are not very sharp) this technique sounds like a pause or fermata that precedes the new key, followed by a sequence. This sounds like a cliche, and that pause is typical and necessary in a worship setting, but out of place in other musical contexts. When you land on the new key after the pause, it's jarring. Smooth modulation techniques are very different, but this technique clearly has its place in a church setting. Someone commented on a video using diminished chords. There is a great TH-cam showing how Beethoven liked to use this technique to any one of 4 new keys by only moving one note of a diminished 7th. For me, the trick to making it sound smooth lies in the cadence establishing the new key. If that's too sudden, the modulation sounds a bit ragged. Hey, music is an art not a formula, right???
Ooooooooo that F# move! Each example is a winner. Oh this must be studied and practiced. Awesome lesson!
I play on key f already. All these hand movements baffles me a lot of how you could do all these. Wish to be like this one day

Please what's that thing that you're doing when you quickly play a note before playing the chord. I mean the one where you play it quickly.
