- In the last few years Catfish And The Bottlemen have cemented themselves in indie rock history. Grabbing the baton from Arctic Monkeys, The Killers, and Oasis before them, Van Mccann, Benji Blakeway, Robert "Bob" Hall and Johnny Bond have carried on the alternative legacy of big choruses and "pints-in-the-air" singalong live shows. Longshot, the lead track taken from their third album The Balance, does not disappoint. "I had another track that I thought was stronger actually" Van McCann told Radio X's Gordon Smart, "I turned up to the lads and played them Longshot, and they were like...woah."

new album is sooo good, don’t think i could ever not love any of catb’s music.
Disagree with everyone that is slating their new album..
for one, Longshot is one of the best tunes they have done! Secondly, the first two albums have gone amazingly, they have a formula that works for them, why change it?
THANKYOU
I agree with everything except that longshot is one of their best tunes and if it makes that list, its definitely more at the bottom of it.
To each their own I guess, but I love Longshot, easily in my top 5
Fluctuate is absolutely my favorite and the album itself is so damn beatiful
i love the band as it is, diversity doesn't always mean quality, and quality doesn't always need diversity. They could experiment with something new for their own and everyone's good, but i disagree with everyone who doesn't enjoy the new album.
the new album, as the others, is a fucking masterpiece
Personally I think its more experimental than there previous album.
I love the album, I found them through it and it might be my favourite despite how controversial that opinion may seem
their definition of experimentation is just a different kind of perfection
10 seconds of the video was dedicated to what was in the title. Very cool! Thanks!
1:45 Bondy when your mum comes to watch you do something important but you don't really want her there
haha😂😂
I first saw CATB perform at the Rose Bowl, they opened for Green Day, and ever since then, I’ve been nonstop listening to them. I absolutely love them and I love their music.
4:03 meaning behind longshot
1:50 Van: Wonder what I was doing up so early there... 🤣🤣🤣11:24 am is not early baby!!
Please release another album we need it
the band have split
@@joshua2004a😅
My baaabies! 💖 I'm so happy for them, the album is class! 💕
Most of it anyway.
@@seankilburn7200 1 song is good and it's essentially an interlude
dylanoneill2011 all of them are good
@@crazycowpers6392 no it's fucking shite they refuse to evolve or change their sound in anyway
somebody find this man and check whether he's still alive or not 😭
Idk my dudes I’ve been listening to the record nonstop
Aww that email made me tear up. They've come so far 🥺
Love Radio X. Love Catfish. The perfect video.
Proper lads
⬇️light it up
I love them.💖🤟
God I love them!❤️
Quality album
Fucking album is amazing people that say it’s the same shit so what like maybe they will have a change soon but fuck it there fuckign amazing
oof apparently the TH-cam link at 1:30 leads to Broken Army but they set the video to private. Great song however
I thought it was loan shark....
I like these guys but i barely can understand a word they say as a non native english speaker. It's dauting.
They speak pretty clearly in comparison to some other brits
Is it just me or does he look a bit like Troye Sivan
The album is soo dull. The same thing every time
the songs after conversation are just so disappointing. Although i don't like it, i appreciate the new arctic monkeys' album because its different than their usual stuff
i feel like all their songs are the same and that doesnt mean i dont like them because im seeing them in november but theyve got to evolveeee
I think they're recorded kinda poorly which makes them sound pretty same-ey. Longshot live for instance is a much bigger tune than on the album.
@@robbiereilly3161 thats actually pretty true. They're more of a live band rather than a studio band so they probably know how good it sounds live but not in a recording
@@robbiereilly3161 the song writing is just boring too. Longshot's chorus sounds like when Disney characters have a band.
Longshot and conversation are the same song
One trick Ponys. Diverse next time.
Who cares, they make bangers that are made to play live. Educate yourself
jcccast educate yourself to support a good fucking football team mate
Least they’ve got something up their sleeve, they can say more than most
@@jcc1760 so you’ve admitted this geezer was right calling them one trick pony’s by saying who cares? Then told him to educate himself? L r*tard.
Longshot is the only good song, the rest of the album is just so boring and repetitive! The balcony was so good and now they're just getting slowly worse, it's really disappointing.
Shut up and fuck off
Wrong
give it a couple more listen pal
@@ammarhamzi I really tried! I had to listen to the ride over and over and eventually it grew on me. But on this one there are catchy songs, but I'm not going to be listening to them in 5 years time. I will always go back to the balcony though.
agree
You play these fuckers at least 3 times a day, it’s sickening.
