This documentary was amazingly done. Heartbreaking. I cannot fathom the fear that everyone had for themselves, their families (furry too). I’m from New Hampshire (Northeastern USA) and I can remember watching the news coverage about the first quake - I didn’t realize that there’d been so many others. You guys are hella strong! Tough! 💕 *Side note: When the snowy part came and it said August, I thought, what the….. totally forgot your seasons are opposite of ours!
Wow!! These people went thru so much and the fact that they are still fighting to keep going forward is very admirable. I don’t know what I would have done if I were in their shoes...
That's not going to be sometime soon, because after much opposition to the Anglican Church's decision to demolish the cathedral, it was only decided in 2018 to extensively restore the building, including reinforcing it with a steel-frame within the walls, & quake-proofing the foundations; en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ChristChurch_Cathedral
By now I assume that parts of those suburbs have been cleared of the houses that once were there, and the land has sort of returned to being partially swampy, as it originally was. Someday I'd enjoy reading a thorough description of exactly what happened to specific areas, since it's so rare that urban locations shift back to nature this way.
Still pray for Christchurch , praying God protects them forever🙏🙏🙏
Amazed no one else has viewed this. An important documentary. 🙏

Thanks. We still get a wee shake now and then and adrenaline kicks in. In, should I run? You hear them 1st. It's not something you forget
Can't imagine such a tragical event. All I can say is WOW! God bless all, They are very brave and determined people.

I was only 3 when this was happening but I still Remember everything that happened
Thinking of packing up & moving to Australia!?! Obviously hadn't looked at how ridiculously priced properties are over here!!!
I didn't know it could snow there. That's much colder than I assumed it was.
I remember those blizzards on top of everything else!
Nearly 10 years ago:’( I hope that the cathedral is done soon❤️

I was just there in Christchurch. The cathedral is being restored.

Thousands of homes have been demolished, but certain areas of the city are being rebuilt.
