I was fortunate enough to see Meat Loaf at the Seattle Paramount Theatre probably 1977? They covered this song, and it was excellent. It also steered me back to the original version performed by Tina Turner, which is so, so good.
Although the original Ike and Tina Turner version only peaked at a disappointing #88 in US, it is not exactly an "underground" classic because it was a #3 hit in UK. It was also a top 40 hit in Netherlands, Belgium and Australia.
Meat Loaf & Karla seem to get on well on stage Did they're have a relationship Meat Loaf is such a amazing bloke with a dame good voice Lovely sexy bloke
4:30 can someone please tell me who that other guy is? I'm trying to find an interview with Jim, Meat and Karla and there was some other guy sitting next Karla and I think this is him. Can someone pretty please tell me who this guy is when you get the chance?
That’s Rory Dodd. He is best known for singing Total Eclipse of the Heart with Bonnie Tyler. He also was the vocalist for Jim Steinman. The guy who wrote most of Meatloaf’s biggest hits.
@@Barbie_All_The_Way not that I know of. I’m referring to Jim Steinman. He wrote most of Meatloafs hits. Rory actually recorded a lot of demoes of the songs Jim wrote, including some of the hits of Meatloaf. And I guess ,one song that charted by Jim Steinman .Which many people though was Jim Steinman actually singing since there is a video which features Jim instead of Rory singing the song. And There are videos of Rory singing on here. Just put in his name and singer.
A newspaper referred to him as 'Mr. Loaf' in his obituary. But Mr Aday's vocals could have been better-I will try other takes of this song. If properly sung (grammar?? could be an all time great.

Fantastic. His performances with Karla are vastly under-rated. She was brilliant with him.
Meatloaf has a fantastic voice. Love that guy!
