I moved to a different and much smaller city about 6 months ago. Since then I’ve more than doubled the number of daily steps I take, and I found out recently that my triglycerides are now at 130, compared to 250+ before I relocated.
Walk after you eat! In a famous Hadeeth, Rasulullah mentioned “Don’t sleep on your food”. This saying is interpreted as not to sleep after we eat. Walking after eating helps the digestion process. With a minimum of 40 steps, we should feel better in the stomach area (after a burp or two. Yikes!).. This was 1400 years ago.. eemmmm
I heard you should wait 20-30 minutes after a meal so you give your intestines enough blood supply to work efficiently. While walking you're taking away from your blood supply via arms and legs. So let your blood supply to your stomach work first and walk after.
Absolutely! I have low blood pressure so if I were to exert myself after eating something obvious would happen. I need to give it a couple of hours to do it's work or else my brain will say nope food gotta go!
I have orthopedic issues so walking can be challenging. To aid in balance, to increase cardiovascular benefit I use “Nordic walking poles”. They are a godsend. I have a travel collapsible set that fit in my suitcase or backpack when I travel. Lots of videos on you tube on proper technique
Im not working so im constantly moving. Whether its housework, yardwork, playing with my dog, taking the kids somewhere, grocery shopping, im always moving
RELAX MOMENTS are necessary and healthy. Quality movement and alternating it with rest, is healthy. But you have to alternate activity with rest: Rest-Movement-Rest-Movement-... I'm tired of only valuing movement, which has produced a lot of stress and therefore all kinds of physical and mental illnesses in this society... Walking after a meal is not a good idea because your Gut is on movement and needs blood and relax...
20+ comments below and every one of them says walking is good for you?.... My sentiment is that walking is "very +Very good for you".........( I'm 80 ) still doing my 50 pullups a workout at 70 but there has been a decline ;) John, Perth, Australia......
I usually will start cleaning up the dinner table n then wash plates n then take a 100 step walk to the refuse room, to throw the garbage. Are these exercises good enough?
Ayurveda ancient Indian medical practice, advises to walk at least 100 steps ( शतपावली shat-pawali)after evening meals! & rest lying on left side awhile ( Vam-kukshi वाम कुक्षी ) after lunch!
This does NOT apply for dogs, goats, etc. Walking them after eating will lead to their stomachs twisting, and filled with so much gas that it will literally unalive them if not taken to the vet immediately.
So it's better to eat before you exercise, then it is to exercise and then eat? I'm just getting started on a gradual increase walking exercise of 2,000 steps per day, hoping to reach 10,000 steps a day sometime in the future way down the road Ha! Ha!. I'm 70 so weight and exercise are important to me and for everyone regardless of what age, but I'm talking about me, so I'll stick to that. It has also been recommended that I not exceed 2,000 calories a day, which is a first for me just to start watching them. I came along to your video just when I was questing exactly what your video was talking about and lift this comment to make sure I had it straight. Unfortunately my first walk of 400 steps was done before I ate, but the next time I go out / x 5, 4 more to go will get me my 2,000 steps for today. So I think I'll split everything up in 5's, including my calorie intake, each trip I get 400 calories, then I walk. It's usually light until 7 or even 8 in the evening, so that would be 400 steps every 2 1/2 hours. If I'm on track or need to consider other things please advise. Thank you for the video and tip, hope to watch more have not subbed yet but will as soon as possible, maybe I'll do it right now. What a idea before I forget as usual, short term memory is totally shot, Ha ! Ha ! bye.
It’s better for weight loss to eat until full no more than 3 times per day. I eat twice, late morning and early evening and have lost 73 pounds in 16 months. Eating multiple times a you have described causes your body to burn glucose instead of fat.
One of the stupidest things I ever heard, no carnivores take a walk after eating. You eat, you digest, give your body time to process the food. Ever watched animal documentaries, what do the animals do after a meal? They rest. Use common sense people.
I too like my siestas after eating, but you have to realize that one size doesn’t fit all. The video maker should realize this also. How active a person is before eating makes a difference. The size of a person makes a difference. The fitness level makes a difference. Your hydration level makes a difference. What you’re eating makes a difference. The medicines you take makes a difference. For an over weight couch potato eating doughnuts and sugar drinks walking probably is a good idea after eating. A lean carnivore that chased its meal down to catch it before eating it doesn’t need a walk after eating……
I make it a goal to go for a 25 minute walk right after a meal and you reap the benefits right away😂. It amazing how something so simple can be overlooked. Being in the moment is another plus

Walking is healthy 👍
Indeed!
It definitely is very healthy
A piece of great information. Thank you
A 2 minute video is the best! Go find one that rattles on for 10 or 20 minutes, if that's what you'd like.
Yesssss!!!!!!
Pretty simple, highly beneficial and also an effective use of your time to benefit your health and digestion. Walk after eating.

I turned my life around by walking and fasting.
I walk for 15 minutes around the house after my two meals. My Apple is set for indoor walking for 15 mins. I am in remission from Type 2 diabetes.
I’d like to be off statin
Walking can prevent depression.
Definitely, you’ll feel better after your walk
Wow!! No way??!!!
It can also cause depression
And it's a mighty good help in recovering from it if it could not be prevented.
@@rpscorp9457 It certainly cannot.
Extremely helpful information ℹ️. Thank you so much
So simple, so clear, so wonderful!
Excellent presentation. Thank you
I like to walk after meals.
Dr Jennifer is the kind of doctor you would listen to. I have personally experienced exactly what she's talking about. Thanks for helping people.
Thanks 🌻
Good piece. God bless dear Dr.

I walk before I eat.

Good for you. That is not tge same as purposeful walking
Thanks for telling the truth some people are dumb enough to think you are wrong. Common sense is not that common

Walking for ten minutes after meals is enough。
I walk around looking for things to eat and then I eat them quickly before they can walk away from me.
I usually will start cleaning up the dinner table n then wash plates n then take a 100 step walk to the refuse room, to throw the garbage.

i thought this was common knowledge, as ive spent most of my life walking after meals!
Can I ride my bike instead?
Can cycling after a meal give you the same benefits
Walk imediately Doc after eating ?
How many minutes after a meal should one walk.
That’s a good question
Usually about 10 - 15 as that allows the blood to enter your digestive system before your walk
Walk after half an hour or an hour to maximize benefits
How long should we walk after eating?
my guess is until you drop from exhaustion or malnutrition.
Walking is good
Brisk walking is better
Brisk walking on inclines is best
Thank you, doctor🤦🏼♀️
Walking on Bullshit is best
Walking backwards or rucking burns even more calories. It is written
I walk while I eat . is that ok ?

You can walk immediately after a meal if it’s slow paced, while some may find that they prefer to wait 15-20 minutes after eating. Listen to you body!

I eat standing up, Mexican style, and walk for 5 minutes right after the meal.
One of the stupidest things I ever heard, no carnivores take a walk after eating. You eat, you digest, give your body time to process the food. Ever watched animal documentaries, what do the animals do after a meal? They rest. Use common sense people.
Animals also exercise. Humans generally do not.
Love it 😂😂😂 truth, I’m carnivore to lol I give my body time to digest before going out for my walk

Immediate or after sometime ?OK 15 min - 30 min rest after meal ?
In.night immediately.morning after 5 minutes afternoon after 15 minutes
It can be immediate if it's a slow-paced walk. But listen to your body, if you need to rest before walking take a 15 minute break.
