This is an excellent review. Your points were well made and and welll supported by facts. Your comparison between these two different items is probably the best comparison video I've seen on TH-cam.
Good in-depth review. I just bought a Low Alpine Trek 40, which should be similiar to the one you got, although it's missing this feature where you can access the main compartment like a regular suitcase. So I might send it back and get yours.
Great review. Everything explained clearly and in detail. I was thinking of getting the Lowe Alpine but had a few doubts. You cleared them up with your review. Thanks for your help.
Alpina Airzone has more advantages, like separate bottom part, two zip side pockets, better and more comfortabale to reach location of rain cover, regulation of the high of the shoulders straps . The only one advantage of Zulu is weight :)
Nice review!. I also was wondering on between the two, and i was at the shop for an hour looking very close to both. Alpine pros: side pockets. Very usefull for maps and stuff. Better access into the inside from the back. Extra compartment for the sleeping bag or other stuff. Better place for the rain cover. Extra 10 litres capacity. Gregory pros: Much better quality on the straps. Much ligther. Much better ergonomy. The air flow system its very well designed and very very ligth also. At the end i bougth the Gregrory because you can harly feel it once you put it on, it doesnt move at all, its pretty much confortable than the alpine. But, like i said, both are very good choices, probably the best rigth now on this kind of backpack.
Thanks for the review! I was hesitating between the Farpoint 40 and the Zulu 40 for my carry-on luggage and you convinced me! Zulu 40 it will be. The Lowe Alpin looks like an awesome bag but, where I live, it costs a bit more compare to the Zulu and I don't need the extra space. Cya
Thank you, I am really glad you found it useful. My brother has older Z40 (or what used to be the name) and he is happy with it as well. Have fun with it!

Nesmi byt uplne narvany. Oni to ale stejne vubec nekontrolovali:-)
Nice review, I am interested to purchase the Lowe Alpine 45 55, but it's kind a hard to find it here in PH, just wondering how much it cost right now? And for those who had it, can you suggest where to purchase?
As the pack is kept away from the back with the air flow system I wonder does this make it harder on the back to carry? In other words I find if the bag is tighter on the back you get more support.
Hi Lubos, I'm thinking of getting the Lowe Alpine Trek 45-55 as well, either that, or the Osprey Kestrel 48l...Did you consider the Kestrel? Also, the backpacks fall outside the hand luggage dimensions required for EasyJet and Ryanair, I'm guessing you never used those airlines?
Hey there, i havent considered Kestrel back then because it was not yet available. But at quick glance it looks pretty good to me. Btw I actually did have Lowe Alpine on Ryanair and it fits well because you can "bend it" a bit. It was not full, though
Ok Lubos, thanks for the info. Do you think I should still purchase the Lowe Alpine over the Osprey Kestrel? Can't make my mind up, need a backpack for the Camino.
I have researched and have found that the buckles on the waist are smaller on the lower alpine than the Gregory (and the osprey 50). I think it's a great bag but I personally like large waist buckles. Are you happy with the waist straps on it?
Yeah they are smaller than my previous Deuter backpack as well. However, this summer I was traveling for 3 months with Alpen Lowe including some multi-days treks and climbs in Peru and it was no problem at (no worse material endurance/resistance, no problem to undo with cold hand etc). So for me personally all good so far
This is how reviews should be done. Great job, thank you!

Access to the lower end of the backback and the extra side pockets tips it for me.I got the Lowe Alpine

Very detailed review and comparison. Thanks!
So, what can you tell us about your choice after traveling? How comfortable it was in practice? Pros and cons? Thank you!
Great Video. Thanks!
Excellent review, thank you. how did your trip go? Cheers
Thanks a lot! We went to Colombia and I am really happy with Lowe Apline. Multiple flights and always as cabin luggage, perfect

I bought it online here in Germany...but I think you can check the dealers here: lowealpine.com/eu/stockists

Ahoj, ano vejde se tam, ale je to zakrivene opravdu dost, takze bych to asi nedoporucoval...to spis tablet a dat ho na sirku uplne dolu
Excellent breakdown. Thanks for the info
