Tesla gigafactory? Count me in. In an age where electric cars are on the rise, America needs to get on par. By producing this factory with the intention of reducing battery cost by 30% is a great step forward. Hopefully it lasts
Christ! With their money all of these should be signature buildings. FB is a flat out bore. The one in London is still banal. Where are the world class architects?
It's a data centre. Like the architect said, it's fit for purpose. And besides, only workers are going to see it. It's not like it's in the middle of Time Square; it's in the middle of nowhere.
How can Samsung's new office building at 1.1million square feet be the largest offce building when even the old Empire State Building which I'm pretty certain is an office building is 2.25 million. The formerly Sears tower is just under 4.5 million and the new 1 World is 3.5 million. It's certainly an interesting design and new buildings certainly are marvelous achievements at efficiency, green space and innovative approaches to make work space more enjoyable and productive for workers. But in the constant race for superlatives such as biggest, most, brightest, tallest, largest etc sometimes we have to rein ourselves in.
Brent Hill I’m pretty sure they mean the largest office building built for the use of a single company. All of these others you cited have multiple office spaces for several companies.
I think there multiple buildings over 1.1 million square feet. Not sure I understood what you meant regarding the Samsung building being the largest office building in North America. For pedestrians below, it is Rather overbearing.
Building in general or office space? Because I cant see how an airport terminal qualifies as an office space. But if you are talking about simply the world's largest buildings then its worth looking into.
This video just made me realise how intelligent and important human beings are for the development and the sustainability of the world at large. #CompletelyBlownAway
Do you mean to say that intelligent humans are important for the sustainability of the world? Humans in general are not important for the sustainability of the natural world - they are currently destroying it so the truth is the exact opposite. However an awakening does seem to be happening and people are beginning to realize the importance of working with nature instead of "conquering" it, which is of the greatest banalities of recent human history.
The Gigafactory and Facebooks Swedish data center complex ends up being the only operations that stay in business in the next 10 years while Google London Headquarters and Apples Silicon Valley world headquarters end up being sold off to save on land taxes, transit taxes and electric transmission surcharges. Cities are slowly rotting because of these huge costs. This is why more and more businesses are leaving the cities for smaller rural business power centers.
I would like to know more about this data you are citing. My understanding is that often what happens with big corporations who shop around for a good place to build a facility that often they have many cities fighting to get these companies to choose their cities for their new headquarters or facilities. (We saw this recently with Google looking for another headquarters) Google had many cities bidding, begging & doing all sorts of things to make their city more attractive to potential busniess partnerships. Often what happens in these situations is cities or even States in some respects will offer 5 year or more tax exemptions if these companies choose their city. This saves them a ton of money. However, because of the many loopholes that companies have been using to not pay taxes I suppose in some cases these tax exemption offers are meaningless. Also given that corporate profits are higher than they have historically been in a long time, if not ever...I dont really find much validity in your statements. But I am interested in sharing thoughts on this in a civil manner.
Dear channel author, as a narrator, you speak too fast to understand for not english-speaking people, even with subtitles, it's hard to catch fully the clue of every sentence. But, your channel is still astonishing!
It is a fricking data center in middle of nowhere. Spending money on it to look good would be like applying makeup on machines. Expensive and pointless
Have to made a separate video on construction companies which are making this tech giants factory and offices...main contractor, architects , structural consultant
I don't see how Samsung's new headquarters is the largest office building by square footage in the United States when the Willis Tower has over four and a half million square feet of Office Space

Gigafactory is a giant machine that builds machine! - Elon Musk
All of the videos on this channel are exceptional.

Great video. I hope when amazon starts building HQ2 you guys can add it to this list. Great job!
We’ll definitely do an update

+David Mayhew Well they’re using Foster, Heatherwick, Bjarke Ingels... some of the biggest names in architecture.
Every building doesn't have to look like a clown hat, that is modern art. These are built for function rather than for superficial looks.
David Mayhew *These building types are being built for efficiency & function first. Besides the Apple building is VERY unique* 👍😎🍺🍻🍺
In China
Teslas Giga Factory is the biggest gamechanger,
but Apples Ring is the coolest building here!
Little wonder why ads keep appearing on my FB feed .... it’s to pay-off the first mega build listed in this clip!
Great one like always
Just seeing this video... Amazing!

I drive by that thing and it doesn't seem that big.

The Pentagon "6,636,360 square feet (620,000 m2)"
I think they met square feet at the base, or ground area the structure covers, maybe...
Maybe he meant largest new office building opened recently (though I'm not even sure that's true).
What was that music playing on the intro of Tesla's Gigafactory
yes
Hope people still work there after covid
What's the song name in the beginning please?
super batiment à la mesure de la firme
Where are they going to get the water they need?

and ITER?
The Daxing Terminal in Beijing International Airport - The biggest

Daxing is the largest single-building airport terminal, but it's not an office building.
Only 3 years old and already this video is laughably outdated. I’ll check the channel for an updated version...

Holy shit, the Giga Factory is actually going to be around 9 times as large as the correct already massive building??
lyegm and they have 3
Luleå does not han an average winter temperature of -20 C. Far from it.
The reporter does not speak very well, very fast and not very enjoyable at all.
Yes what about Australia 🇦🇺
The Facebook building is like a faceless factory
It is a fricking data center in middle of nowhere.
Spending money on it to look good would be like applying makeup on machines. Expensive and pointless
The biggest office building in North America (and the world) is the Pentagon
maybe he left out the word commercial? because the Pentagon is military only, only tours are allowed with trusted personnel
❤
"Sweden is one of the most stable places in the world". Alright then.
just like france i guess :D
Google's use of the primary colors inside will go well with their emotionally infantile workers.

You should mention the requirement of car parks when building in California. Not very green and it encourages urban sprawl..
Car parks are essential, otherwise, it's nothing but chaos.
maybe apple will give incentives to employees who go green ?
People are hating on Apple while they aren’t realising they have a nice campus.
