100,000 Million %. There's a weird dichotomy that goes on in upper class garage sales/neighborhoods. There's also a dichotomy between older/newer homes. I think they remember like "Oh I paid 100$ for this item 3 years ago, I'm going to ask 60$". It's America and they're free to do so, it's just as a reseller it's hell. I went to a 40 home neighborhood sale 3 weeks ago and literally 30+ homes were 75% kids stuff. Most of which was way overpriced. I'm free on Thursday/Friday so I'm almost always the first one there too.
I like the lady at the sports yard sale when John says "$27, how about $20 for all three" says quickly responds with "how about $25"...great comeback sports lady
To be honest, I have seen that doll go for $3k in not as good condition as that one was! That one was spotless! It was a give away back in the 1920's -30's, to see one in that shape is rare!

Lee.com is the website for Lee Jeans. Found this under history. First introduced Buddy Lee doll in 1921. Might be worth a grand if it's an original. The Buddy Lee doll was introduced to promote Lee overalls. Over the next 40 years, he helped to introduce new products offered by Lee. Becoming a promotional success at county fairs and in store windows, Buddy Lee dolls were first made of composition and later of molded plastic. When it became cost-prohibitive to manufacturer the doll, Buddy Lee was discontinued in 1960. Buddy Lee returned in 1998 to promote the company’s Can’t Bust ‘Em Dungarees line, aimed at 17- to 22-year-old males. Buddy Lee, "Man of Action" appeared in ads as a heroic figure who survived all kinds of certain doom, prompting his human co-stars to marvel at the durability of his jeans. Lee offically retired Buddy Lee in 2006.
Buddy Lee was an advertising mascot for Lee Jeans. The doll, a promotional item for the company from 1920 to 1962, was brought back as the star of television advertising for the company's Lee Dungarees line from 1998 until the mid-2000s. These little guys were made for the H. D. Lee Company Inc., the makers of Lee jeans, and they are marked "Buddy Lee" on the back of each doll. Original clothing will also have a Buddy Lee tag on it. While the attribution is not positive, some doll collectors believe that these were made by the Gem Toy Company. Gem Toy made a line of dolls called Chubby Kid that looks just like the Buddy Lee dolls. The only difference is they don't have a Buddy Lee mark or the Lee branded clothing, so there is a definite basis for the attribution.
I don't like sellers like her. She's trying to convince you to buy while over charging. Had one at the end of last year like that and he followed us around like he was afraid we were going to steal it and it was all just trash.
I usually just leave. The sellers that want to tell you about every item you look at makes me leave as well. I just want to brouse while in my little yardsale mode so i can concentrate. Lol
Problem with how some people get there prices, you heard her say she "asked some people" who are listing them for "$2500". Doesn't mean they're selling! If I list a pen on ebay for $5000 that doesn't mean the one you're selling is worth $2500. It just means I'm an idiot ;-)
Anthony Lynch EXACTLY. I absolutely hate it when people having yard sales say “well it’s going on eBay for...” because yeah it may be listed for that but it’s selling for half of that!
I bought a 1940s buddy lee cowboy last year for 150. I think they range 300 to 500. I believe they came out first in the 30s. If she gets a 1000 let me know lol mine will be up too. That will be bonus money for me for the 127 garage sales lol
Hi John That Lee doll only sales for like 300.00 - 700.00 Depending on condition. If you look at comps on ebay they are 175.00 and up depending on if it has the hat. Not any listing for 2500.00 LOL

4:17 JACKPOT! Most cassettes go for a few dollars on ebay at most. But not rap cassettes. Rap was huge in the 90s, so were CD players. Growing up in the 90s, I don't know anyone that bought or collected cassettes. Everyone was into CDs. If your car had a tape deck you'd buy an adapter to hook up a portable CD player. So all these rap albums that came out in the 90s are worth a little bit of money on cassette.
"VCR did not ever come with a remote" and" Doll is 115 years old" hmmm, in between her saying whatever shes wants for a sale, as others mentioned, she really wants to give you a call down the road sometime John
3:20 mark if it was for sale. The wringer mop bucket. Brand new @ Ace Hardware those are $42 for the Ace brand and $79 for the Rubbermaid brand. If for sale for like $5-$10 would be an easy re-sell on FB Marketplace at least. Pretty big to ship out.
The garage sale where he had the cooler, Mickey glass, and pistol was WAY HIGH for a garage sale. I was afraid that toddler was going to knock over your framed Jersey! I love when people are passionate about items they have. Example, the Lee items lady. John, do you ever re-grip the bats you buy? I bought one the other day and it needs the grip redone. My best flip of the year so far was a Buddy Lee doll, bought for $75 and sold it within a day for $2400. The doll is from the 1920's-1960's, and what makes it more or less expensive is the age, condition, and outfit it is wearing. Most buddy lee's are wearing jeans/coveralls and are from around 1940-1950 and worth around $300-400. If you find a doll that is wearing "union-alls" and older from the 1920-1930's, buy it. (google buddy lee union alls, and you'll see what I mean)

At the 7:30 mark of video, just to the left of the toy kitchen was a xbox x-plorer guitar that sells for 80 - 100 and the metallica game with it is currently selling for 50. Love watching you buddy, keep up the great vids.
I saw dolls similar to that one going for around $550 each and they were in Really bad condition. Oh and that was on American Pickers👍🏼there was a couple of baseball player dolls, and a football player doll. Might be different since they aren't cowboy ones👍🏼👍🏼
Hey John!! Love your channel. I have a viewer question for your next video. What was your first big sale? Or do you have any stories of your early days of reselling?

John, on the Panasonic Blueline VCR where she wanted $20. If there was on voiceover at that point and you were explaining your thoughts, were you considering trying to get it for $10? Comps on that one are $50 plus. Also, would you have asked her if she tested it and it worked." As someone said on TH-cam (can't remember who), they don't make VCRs anymore.
The lady at 4:40 offers you a great deal on the jersey, photo, and plaque. She said $20, $2, and $10 which = $32. You started the "offer" at 20 down from 27.
I feel like some people seem to forget that there selling at a garage sale like your literally selling old junk you don’t want anymore wtf are you trying make people pay high prices
I was impressed with all the nice items people put out at the yard sales in this video! Must have been a nicer part of town! Well done, Sir John. -Kevin
I was already looking up the doll as you asked I dont think it's 100 years old but her price was not that crazy if you look up sold and sort by highest there is some crazy numbers!!!
I looked up prices for lee dolls i saw one that sold for near $500 , one for $600 even one for $800 but took an offer so if it is 1930s or 1940s thats pretty high. if its even older
The Buddy Lee dolls were made in the 1930s so definitely not 100 years old yet...They made the Cowboy version and the Baseball version also one dressed in a Boiler suit...And as for asking $1.000 dollars, you can pick them up for as little as $600 on ebay
Im seeing A lot of yard sale sellers comping eBay during the sale. I had one seller quote an unmarked item at $3. 2 minutes later when I'm ready to pay it went up to $50!
Look forward to seeing what you list the Jordan plaque for! Killer sports pick up’s! I’m a big sports collector and can never find anything like that at my local sales
Question..Why is it every sale that has a VCR they never have a remote. Out of the 20 or so I have bought I think I have Got 5 remotes. Its a mystery kinda like the one shoe on the highway.
That Lee Jeans doll was pretty sweet that my kind of item but she was pretty high on the price. If she would have said $100-200 i would have grabbed it if it was in good shape. Some of them can sell for pretty good money and if you find one with the original box and all it can bring really good money. It's one of those items i think will really go up in value if Lee jeans somehow made a huge come back and became as popular as Levis. And that clock would have been a good buy if she had it priced right. The Lee Work Clothes clock is from the 1950s and its worth some decent money so i would have probably made her an offer. Sometimes even though someone says its not for sale making a reasonable offer can sometimes change their mind haha.
YOU GOT SOME NICE PIECES AGAIN - THAT BUDDY LEE DOLL WAS WAY TO EXPENSIVE AND WE BELIEF IT IS NOT TOO OLD - PLEASE STAY SAFE AND CHEERS FROM AUSTRALIA !!!!
Hi John you should come to Glasgow in Scotland and I could help you go picking😃 At car boot sales or charity shops which are basically thrift stores but better
I'm pretty sure I've seen the buddy lee dolls go around $500 before? I would have to check. I'm not sure on the age of them but, i'm pretty sure she was high on it. Also, I think there is a Betty lee that's worth more if you ever see it.
Always amazes me how no one at these garage sales takes the time or effort to price their stuff and you constantly have to ask for prices. I don't think I've ever had a garage sale where I haven't marked everything and if it wasn't marked its because the sticker fell off. Lol!
I also looked up the Buddy Lee Jeans doll, 1940's / 1950's different styles and different prices (in £GB pounds) £150-£750 but as you know only serious collectors would pay top dollar and I imagine they would know the worth, I thought he looked like a Kewpie doll.
What mount are you using for filming at sales? Where are you putting the cam? I bought a backpack strap thing but it seems to aim down and to the right. Thanks man
Hey john hows things going? I just wanted to ask about what’s the benefit of having a eBay store vs not? Being that I’m new to the flipping game! And I was wounding what is your best flip?
-Kevin
2:40 That guy's prices were outrageous!
That lady was outrageously high on the cosmetics
Have you seen the prices on Mary Kay? She wasn't really, especially since the company was willing to buy it back.
If the bats are scuffed, does it reduce value, or is it better to only get ones that are new?
I was already looking up the doll as you asked I dont think it's 100 years old but her price was not that crazy if you look up sold and sort by highest there is some crazy numbers!!!
I looked up prices for lee dolls i saw one that sold for near $500 , one for $600 even one for $800 but took an offer so if it is 1930s or 1940s thats pretty high. if its even older
What a great day. Watching Reds baseball and Cincinnati Picker.
To pay 15 bucks for a framed signed jersey of any kind is amazing. Congrats bro.
The Buddy Lee dolls were made in the 1930s so definitely not 100 years old yet...They made the Cowboy version and the Baseball version also one dressed in a Boiler suit...And as for asking $1.000 dollars, you can pick them up for as little as $600 on ebay
One eBay sold comp on the Buddy Lee Doll for $699 plus shipping FYI.
Im seeing A lot of yard sale sellers comping eBay during the sale. I had one seller quote an unmarked item at $3. 2 minutes later when I'm ready to pay it went up to $50!
That one with the sports stuff looks like a divorce sale😀
If it is I want to go see if she needs any help with anything!:):):)👍🏼
Look forward to seeing what you list the Jordan plaque for! Killer sports pick up’s! I’m a big sports collector and can never find anything like that at my local sales
the days of bringing a roll of quarters to a sell are long over lol
Question..Why is it every sale that has a VCR they never have a remote. Out of the 20 or so I have bought I think I have Got 5 remotes. Its a mystery kinda like the one shoe on the highway.
Or the missing socks. You fold your laundry and have 10 socks left over and none of them are a match.
That bone thugs cassette brings back memories of riding in my older sisters Camaro listening to it 🤣
The buddy lee doll is about 6 to 7 hundred dollars. And it is about 70 or 80 years old
Those Lee Dolls are very popular in japan especially in the vintage jeans environment, they pay very very well
$$$$$ I think that one guy forgot it was a yard sale. 🤣
😂
They actually vary but no room to make an money they are going anywhere in the 200 to 7-900. maybe 1 or 2 are 1k 2 k.
1:06 lower left = the pampered chef chopper 25 buckolas
YOU GOT SOME NICE PIECES AGAIN - THAT BUDDY LEE DOLL WAS WAY TO EXPENSIVE AND WE BELIEF IT IS NOT TOO OLD - PLEASE STAY SAFE AND CHEERS FROM AUSTRALIA !!!!
Enjoy your channel....found you via Craigslist Hunter channel. Am in Cincy too! Would love to do some picks with you
Picker: How much for the cooler?
Seller: One million dollars
Hi John you should come to Glasgow in Scotland and I could help you go picking😃 At car boot sales or charity shops which are basically thrift stores but better
On EBay I seen the Buddy Lee Doll like she has. They sold from $150 to $800.
John can you educate me on why you select certain bats please
Best yard sale videos on TH-cam, even when you don't pick up much.
What mount are you using for filming at sales? Where are you putting the cam? I bought a backpack strap thing but it seems to aim down and to the right. Thanks
man
Best yotuber. And im not a reseller or buyer.. I dont like antiques either. You just the best content creator
Hey john hows things going? I just wanted to ask about what’s the benefit of having a eBay store vs not? Being that I’m new to the flipping game! And I was wounding what is your best flip? And worse flip? I just found a power ranger toy new in the pack for a dollar at the thrift store and flipped it for a 100$ thanks for the inspection!!
The way that guy in the green had his items priced, he will be needing to hold garage sales every day for a year to even have a chance at getting rid of some things
I probably would have bought the revolver thing it's just too cool to pass up.
What was that large action figure at 3:50? Looked like it could have been something good
It looks real, but they did have knock offs range between 350-1100 on eBay
Buddy Lee is only worth $850.00. He's from the 50's. He's about 70 years old. Now if Buddy Lee had the brown ESSO SHELL uniform on, he would be worth $2k.....(y)
Nice 👍 one John. Jonathan. Warmest wishes from Wales 🏴 🇬🇧
Thanks Jonny!
