      Hi, I assume you are on a knit row, so you bring your yarn to the front of your work between the needles and then over your right needle back to it’s original position, then slip the next stitch, then carry on with the next stitch. It’s really hard to know exactly what the pattern is asking for without seeing the pattern and knowing what stitches are coming before and after the instruction but I hope this helps x

    Hi, I am struggling with the UK term CR2. Please demonstrate this stitch. The instructions say YRN, purl 2, pass YRN over two stitches just worked?

    Hello. Thank you for your video. But I’m still having a bit of trouble. I have a pattern that says the following in a purl row: …k1, yrn, k1… etc. do I just bring the yarn forward in between the two stitches, or do I go right around my right hand needle somehow??? Help!

    • @bobbinsandbowsofbare5231
      @bobbinsandbowsofbare5231  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, yes you just bring the yarn through the needles to the front of the work, then complete the knit stitch. Beacause you have to bring the yarn over the needles to complete the knit stitch you create a new stitch. I hope this helps x

    Please could you help. I have a pattern ( sirdar) that states 1st row: " S1, p1 *yon, s1p, yft ( this makes a loop around the s1p), p7 rep from *"
    which I don't understand. The abbreviations state yft means yarn front but surely the yarn is already in front following the s1p? (NB: in the list of abbreviations yfwd is a separate abbreviation to yft)

    • @bobbinsandbowsofbare5231
      @bobbinsandbowsofbare5231  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, it’s difficult to tell without seeing the pattern but I think it probably wants you to slip the stitch purlwise without bringing the yarn to the front first. I would try it and see if it looks like the picture. So I think it would be something like this ‘slip one stitch, then purl one stitch then bring the yarn over the needle to the back of the work, then slip the next stitch purl wise and then bring the yarn between the needles to the front, this should make a loop round the s1p. I hope this helps and you can get on with your project, good luck xx

    My pattern says to (y.fwd.,yrn ) k3 tog this is done on a knitt row can you help

    • @bobbinsandbowsofbare5231
      @bobbinsandbowsofbare5231  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, I will help if I can, it’s always hard without seeing a few rows of the pattern. The y.Fwd means bringing your yarn from the back of your work to the front, between the needles. The yrn, means take your yarn round the right hand needle all the way back to the front between the needles again. This is the bit that confuses people because when you try to complete the knit 3 together your yarn is at the front but this is ok, you just take your yarn over the right needle and complete the knit stitch as normal. This whole process makes two stitches that are then taken away by the knit 3 together. I hope this is helpful, just ask if you need any more help x

      Hi, I am actually not sure, I have looked it up both online and in my own patterns even older pattern books with no success. It will be a yarn forward of some kind, it should at least tell you what the abbreviation means on the pattern even if it doesn’t explain how to do it. Sometimes the abbreviation for yf (yarn forward) is extended to yfbtn (yarn forward between the needles) this isn’t often used but can be confusing when it is. This is probably something like that. its really hard to work out what it means without seeing the knitting, so sorry I couldn’t help you more (if I do find out I will let you know).
