As someone with curly hair, I wanted to believe this is a miracle product. However, deep down I knew this was probably a gimmick.

If you have curly hair, you’d probably have to use a whole damn bottle of the conditioner. Don’t waste your money.

I’ve been using Function of Beauty for maybe two years now. The bottles last me about 6 months. I like it because I get to pick my scent and color, but the costumer service is kind of awful. The cheesy bottles make me cringe and I hate them.
How is it for your hair? Does it live up to the hype?
Same the bottles last FOREVER and I’m shocked because I have so much hair. Their customer service has been great for me but they got rid of my favorite scent and picked a random one for my next bottles without informing me ://
Simran Sandhu ive been using it for a little over a year and I used the same two bottle for an entire year before needing more (I’ve had shoulder-chest length hair in that time). I think for the price if you have shorter hair it’s worth it, and I love the leave in conditioner/oil that is an option to add on. I’m going to keep using it for now as it keeps my hair not so frizzy, but I also have very straight, medium-thick, healthy, non-dyed hair. So who knows!
I would honestly only buy it if you can find a coupon. That’s the only way I’ve paid
I personally have thin, oily, straight hair, and it works okay. I use Macadamia Deep Repair Masque every other time I wash from before I cut my hair, right before the quarantine. RIP. For me, it’s really the smell and color that I get to customize. I really like the black color with pear scent. Better than drug store, worse than salon. I really just want to smell like jelly beans.

As someone who would have fell for it, because they sponsor some videos I like. They are also vegan. But they are sooooooo expensive I couldn't afford it, so my wallet saved me from my stupidity.

Yeah I make my own hair (and body) stuff, so I was asked to look this up because people always ask for my opinions on hair care product ingredients. I was honestly kind of shocked to see how incredibly basic the ingredients are. I feel like, for anything made by them, you could find a regular product that costs much less.
The colour and scent is probably what most people buy it for, you can't really control that unless you make your own. I change mine up practically every time. My last conditioner was purple with midnight pomegranate scent. I think I'm going with a green lemon pear next time 🤔.
The startup costs to making your own stuff can be intense, so I don't typically recommend it, but this is way too expensive imo.

I've been using function of beauty for the last year. Mainly because I'm a huge hippie and my hair is my baby and I want to grow it out to my butt. So I'm willing to spend the money on it, even as a broke college student. It's my only "luxery" beauty item, all my makeup is drugstore and all that. I haven't had any issues with it, and I love the smell. I love that they do sulfate and silicone free and natural ingredients, sometimes hard to find things like that in Target or Walmart. But I wouldn't say it's given me the hair of an angel, I just know it's good for my hair and don't have to be looking through the shelves at the store to find ones that will work for me and that won't kill my hair
I selected all the hydrating-type options when I first got it because my hair was entirely bleached at the time. And it is not an exaggeration to say it made my hair the second most dry it's ever been (first goes to when I used Prose. Never again). I literally couldnt comb through my hair it was so rough and gross. Even now, with healthy hair and a new formula, I can't use the shampoo and conditioner in conjunction, the shampoo is too intense and the conditioner is not strong enough to make up for it. BUT. The smell is unmatched imo. I've never before had shampoo/conditioner where I could actually smell it on my hair afterwards and for even a day later no less. I just know how to use it with other products to make up for the lack of hydration and only use it when I specifically want my hair to smell nice. Would I recommend it? No. But do I really pay 50+ dollars just for the satisfaction of being told my hair smell nice when I'm on a date? Yes. And it's kinda sorta worth it to me lmao
Try using some of bodyshops stuff, they have pretty nice smelling stuff that isnt going to dry out your hair. I almost exclusively use their shampoo and my hair feels great and the smell really lingers. Plus they are cruelty free and are a really good ethical company. Not spon btw, just love their stuff lol
Aveda products keep a nice scent in my hair. Bit pricy but a little goes a long way with most of the products I’ve tried of theirs.

I guess I'm one of the few who actually likes FoB. I feel like it really does help my hair. And it lasts super long. I went about 5 months on one bottle. Im someone with oily hair and I also dont wash it too often.

I’m the same and it made my hair feel worse. I don’t know if it’s also because I have fine hair but it was not worth it for me. Don’t know if my scalp had to go through a “purge” phase where it’s bad and becomes good, but I didn’t want to wait around.

I actually really liked Function of beauty. I tried a lot of different types of conditioner for my hair, but nothing was really fixing it's dryness, plus I was allergic to literally everything in my shampoo/conditioner (I finally found the culprit lol). It was relieving to be able to use a shampoo/conditioner set that didn't cause a reaction. It took about 2ish months before my hair started getting better, though after the 4th month, I had to stop because I started getting reactions from it.
Why do I like her so much? I can’t put my finger on it. She’s clearly intelligent genuine cute but she has an extra quality and I can’t define it lol

personally, I really like function of beauty. until this all happened (I impulse cut my hair from being the middle of my back to shoulder length...whoops), I had really long hair and the 16 oz bottles lasted me over three months. I tend to be pretty sensitive to scents, and I hate chemically ones that you get from most products, especially ones from the salon, so I switched over after becoming really frustrated with Herbal Essence's changes to their line up. I think I use less of Function of, my hair seems less greasy even after a few days, and its super soft.

Tried it 3 years ago. Not impressed. Smelled great but products were mediocre at best for the price. And like you said, I felt like I had to use an unnecessary amount of product. I also had an ordering issue and their customer service is lackluster. If anyone asks if they should try it, I tell them don’t bother. You can get definitely get better products for cheaper that are easier to obtain.

My mom does dumpster diving and I actually got that hair dryer for free! As someone with straight hair (and a lot of it) I love it
i bought 3, one for me, my mom and my sister. for myself, i got an allergic reaction, my head started to burn and my whole body started to itch (also im a guy, idk if it would make any differents). my sister, couldnt use the conditioner. she started to lose more hair than usual, but the schampoo was fine but it did nothing for her. for my mom, she could use both with no problem. but it did nothing what it was suppose to do. luckily i got a refund for all them. would i recommend the product? no

Also really glad you reviewed it completely like this because there was recently a bit of buzz about this company on reddit and it just piqued my curiosity because there was a lot of discussion about the product and people questioning certain practices of the company (some people said they were charged as if they signed up for a subscription of the product when they in fact had not)
I have colored hair and I really love that when it says it's color safe it really is. I've tried salon brands and function of beauty strips the color out the slowest. All semi permanent hair colors will bleed in the shower but it's really minimal in my opinion. I only ever buy it with a coupon so it's honestly not that expensive, I'd say its midrange in price with a 20% off coupon? It's 60$(ish) for two of the 16oz ones and a deep conditioner + shipping.
Damn your shampoo is fucking expensive. I thought this was super super expensive even with the coupon (which is the same price you said).
The Revlon One Step has been a TOTAL game changer for me! I have super curly hair and it saves me like 40 minutes

I've been using function of beauty for almost 2 years and it's definitely not for everyone re: the things you mentioned, but I love it because my scalp is very oily and my hair is very sleek and straight naturally and honestly it's the only shampoo that's given me adequate volume and oil control. also it smells good lol and their customer service has been very nice to me
I had a good exchange with customer service because i reached out after inputting my email wrong and they fixed it no problem. As far as the hair falling out that is a claim made by some people who have tried it

Okay, I got that Revlon hair dryer last week and it's highkey the best money I've ever spent. I can't stop talking about it. My mother is sick of hearing about how much more time I have in my day because of this hair dryer. My boyfriend is concerned that I am more in love with this hair dryer than I am with him, and he's not wrong. 10/10 product.
I'm not really sure why you got recommended to me on youtube, but there's something about your and your content that I can watch all day even though I don't care about 90% of the stuff you make videos about. Somehow you make it interesting. Keep up the great work!

I have the hair dryer too! my frizzy wavy long hair stairs styled all week. It would take me 2 hours to get my hair straight. Now I can get my hair styled in 25 min tops (and that's if I do not let my hair air dry). Really a game changer. I do have to clean the brush, but other then that, I love it.

Hey you may wanna try the LOC method. It’s a curly girl method but hey. It’s leave in, oil then cream. Or in your case whatever leave in you use then the Argan oil. The oil is used after so it seals in the moisture of your leave in conditioner! Cool video. :)

It's the only shampoo and conditioner I've used that don't fade my color. I've also adjusted the goals and the ingredients list was different so as far as I can tell it's definitely customized.
Glad I'm not the only one. I got the hydrating and it dried my OILY hair out...tf? The only thing I loved was the hibiscus smell. I loved the scent. But that was it. Thanks for speaking the truth, swell.

Omg yes, I literally was considering buying the products but I was like...arrh I need a good review about someone I sure is neutral and is not trying to get a sponsorship or didn't pay for the product (since my issue is mostly yes it's quality but is the quality is 5x time more than my usual hair product since the prize is 5x). I trust your opinion wholeheartedly so I'm super happy to see this video. Not to pressure you or anything but this video will probably be the deciding factor on whether or not I will buy it.

I love function of beauty only because they offer fragrance free hair products and I have a fragrance allergy so it makes it so hard to find a shampoo and conditioner that doesn’t give me a rash.
Jackson the Meme Warrior if you are looking for a fragrance and dye free shampoo try “free and clear” I believe it’s the same brand that makes vanicream. It’s a highly dermatologist recommended brand, you can find it at cvs, target, Walgreens, etc. I even got mine on amazon. It’s inexpensive, there’s no gimmicks and it’s free of all that bad crap. Plus you don’t have to wait for shipping/give your money to a company you might be unsure of. Try it out :)

I ordered a kit last year and I had the same thoughts, it wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. I think the novelty got to me but considering I wash my hair infrequently (afro type 4c) and I didn't actually like the dyed-ness of it all my husband ended up using it more than me.
I can only wash my hair like once a week because it will produce too much oil if I do more than that. I found my shampoo and conditioner a few years ago. I dye my hair a TON and my hair was getting gross and shit. Maui was legit my savior because they're both completely natural and specified for dyed hair. But that's just me. Also love how you went from the plaid bi uniform to the highwaisted shirt tuck bi uniform.
