I bought a 2004 Trailblazer 2WD with a locker, 4200 motor, I drove it for 130,000 miles, two exhaust manifolds and the transmission went, great platform, I’m excited to see what you can do with it
So excited for more content. I am a 40 year old Dad of 2 lil ones and need to get a toy/project again. These vids are pushing me to spring for something soon. Waiting to pick up a terminator. Had a 93 cobra in my late 20’s. Love the comeback vids been subbed for a long time 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
if you got a Colorado with the 3.5 or 3.7 and a manual trans, and swapped it for a 4200 that would be groundbreaking. I think there isn’t anyone on TH-cam that’s put a 4200 into a Colorado / canyon. Yet it would make such a good sport truck
It just shows that the two best inline 6 engines are still from American companies. The barra from Ford may be from down under but it's roots is from the same one that was in the old trucks and the 4200 seems to be a clean sheet redesign of the famous inlines from GM. I'd have either of them in any of my rides regardless of grill badge
out of the gate everything will remain stock. i will tackle the trans issue when it comes up. which im sure may not take long. but i dont really want to dump a lot of money into the 60. i may do a conveter and if it holds up run it as long as possible, but if it acts up it will get an 80
@JWhit-FoxAholics definitely adress line pressure under boosted situations. That'll help it live. DO NOT run it without tuning the trans !!! Also, only do pulls in D3, no boost in 4th. Just some advice from a trans guy 😉
@jamesmcguinness2725 i appreciate that! I knew about the 4th gear thing but not about the rest. I will make sure to.bring it up to the tuner. He may or may not be aware but this has been noted. Thank you!
Side note also everyone of the 4200 he built blew up... So there's that. I think you left it sub 500 horsepower you probably could have a reliable turbo 4200
Im not sure thats entirely true. I know the fiat is still going strong. And the datsun ate up transmissions. The combo that the intercooler and turbo was on was removed for a built version and it lasted a drag week event. Now in the beginning sure, it makes sense. When you start to mess with a new platform you are going to have some growing pains. I cant tell you how many ls motors i blew up before finally getting one right it seemed. Its just part of the process.
R&D , blowing up is your mechanical data-log. Calvin has been responsible for taking the 4200 to levels unheard of. 2j 1j Have been the favorite child since boosted inlines came on scene. This engine is just beginning to show its potential.
What do yall think this project should be called!? Leave a comment below!
Rand McNally
Project family man
Volvo 2.0
tbtass3.0
... or: "Trailblazer ATASS-ATWI-WPSEI" [(atlas turbo artec ss)-(air to/water intercooler)- (whipple pump, snake eater injectors)]
The Nelson’s are awesome! Stoked to see your project🤙🏼

Thank you! Dyno tune this Saturday at fasterproms!

I have that exact thing lol. A 4x4 3.5 5 speed. But it will be built separately
Sir its been done 😊
Awesome build man!! Where did you get the intercooler from?
I a got it for, Calvin. But the can be found on Amazon.
I've told Calvin multiple times that the 4200 is my next swap into my '71 F250 4x4.
I own 2 trailblazers so I can’t wait to see what you do
The name could be a take off on the original Typhoon, like Trailphoon
I love stomping people in my trailblazer they always so surprised😂
Has to be a great feeling. So unsuspecting lol
@@J-Whit definitely and what’s sad is it’s still stock 🤣
Not enough people building 4200s. I always get weird looks for it but it's the only motor I'd swap the 250 in my Nova for.

This is going to be a really cool project!
oooh this gonna be interesting project looking for it. also very surprised that artec made a manifold for such a unique platform.
You can thank @nivlac57 for that. He has single handedly pioneered this platform and launched it into its current spotlight.😊
Ablazer
Are you concerned about the torque converter ballooning and and taking up the endplay in the crank shaft?
Maybe a little with the stock converter, but im hoping that keeping it at the power level im targeting, that it should be fine
Global Blazer
Mapped out
I thought he was going with GMC typhoon build
Close enough! Lol
SylveSSter StaClone
Haha
😂😂😂 bruh thats perfect!
Any idea on the converter your using?

he blew it up over 800hp...so there's that.
