Nothing burns like the light of truth.
And Vampires do not reflect. Just like Narcissists.
So that light just burns them to dust, unable to withstand the pain.
In fact, pretty much all tropes about Vampires are true about Narcissists. More true that the story of Narcissus they're falsely named after.

@@whisped8145 I don't know man. Replace Narcissists with any other group of people with personality disorders and you sound pretty unhinged. Narcissism has become such a broad and stigmatising label it is concerning. "All people that hurt or upset me are narcissists who are inherently evil and should basically be isolated or exterminated." is a mindset that becomes more and more common. Ironic seeing as our society as a whole shows many narcissistic traits thanks to social media and other processes of cultural decline.

For the first 3 years I played 40k, I started in 1991, I lost every game I played, and I was very competitive. I started with Space Wolves and my play style was charging everything I had down my opponent's throat. It didn't matter what army I played against; I lost every single game. I then had an epiphany. I had to either change my play style or change my army. I didn't want to change my play style, so I plunked down $700 for an Ork Army and spent the next 3 months painting it. Well, I jumped right back into the playing/tournament scene with my new army, using the exact same strategy, and proceeded to lose every game again. At this point, I realized the problem wasn't my army, it was me. Despondent, I stopped playing 40K and invested time into other hobbies, like paintball, RC Cars, War Machine, D&D, ect, ect... I also got a new job at that time and life took over. So, after 20 years, a friend I played D&D with had just picked up a Dark Eldar army and wanted to learn the game. I said sure, we got the 7th edition books and started playing small 500 point games. We had a blast. I learned to play the game for fun instead of winning at all costs. Guess what? I haven't lost a game since.

22:00 Yeah, those activists have not understood that the Brujah were a satire on their ideology of the "eternal revolution." For in the lore the Brujah even managed to win their revolution once and build a Brujah State around California, but since they are cursed to always rebel against authority... They were destined, fated, cursed, to immediately tear their own State apart. They are true anarchists in that sense. No matter what they build, they have to tear it down, including what they build themselves. In the Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines videogame Brujah thus, logically, had outright Communist Revolutionaries among them, as that is a common revolutionary thing in the real world that also brings about nothing but ruin while dreaming or pretending to be for some positive change and militant putsch. Real Socialists/Communists of course don't get that satirical critique about their detrimental ideology - otherwise they wouldn't keep clining to it - and just fanboi over it. You can imagine what happens when those types then get into the actual company and even creative control.

I used to love Vampire, but last few campraigns people couldn't keep real politics out of it. I play these games for a fantasy setting. I was a vampire detective, everyone else in the group owned a bar. It has come to that generic character now where everyone creates a bar owner or club owner vampire now. Well tensions were going on with defund the police and that spilled in my games. I thought people were roleplaying and realized. Nope they were projecting because i was playing a detective with murders. One girl was offended by gore, and I told the storyteller I can't do this game about 3 hours in. He canceled it and has not played since. I have tried to go back to it but as someone who just wants to have fun a certain group of people just ruined it. I tried Call of Cthulu but everyone only wants Vampire or D&D 5th edition. I even got Imperium Maledictum thinking i could get a local group together, Nope.

I made this post before watching the rest of the video. I'm not kidding this happens WAY too much in vampire now. Definitely if you try to play online. Another thing i noticed are the assertion of being LGBQ as a requirement to play Vampire on the online community. As a straight normal white guy, I will always be the villian as soon as I join.

Some say that people who play Vampire do it so they can life out cringe psycho abuse fantasies. That's not my experience. To me, the people who play Vampire are massive ego queens. Most of the ones Ive interacted with seemed to think they are better than everyone else. I've only played with people who are older than myself and that's my honest impression on 90% of them but I've met and interacted with younger players who acted even more like they were "above". I sincerely believe that these people think they are actually as smart and cunning as the creatures they pretend to be and obsess over fake politics and confuse them with real life just because the game takes place in "the real world". They spend so much time sniffing their own farts they've convinced themselves that their shit smells like roses. This is my honest opinion of the matter. Popmus and egocentric snobs play vampire.

  • @whisped8145
    @whisped8145 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Afair Roleplaying came originally out of psycho-therapy-play in order to teach people to see things from other people's perspective (i.e. Empathy).
The thing with these types of problem-players who only ever play themselves, in the most perfectest god-fantasy way, who cry the moment their armor gets a dent, they dare lose a hitpoint or a skillcheck and can't do what they want, are incapable of that: Roleplaying, empathy. Seeing things from someone else's point of view. That's why everybody needs to be like them and love them. That is the hallmark of emotional immaturity and narcissism. Why are there 8-12yo children who can roleplay better than these people regardless of age? Because those actual children are not emotionally stuck at the age of 5, as those "adults" are.

33:00 Yeah, the real pain starts when you finally realize that these types of crazies are who are at the top of policy making of your political side, steer it all and don't do anything about the crazy extremists, because that's whom they actually favour. Gatekeeping is important there too, for otherwise it's always the worst of the worst who gain the seats of power - because we let them. We all let them. And who wants to waste his or her nerves in that battlefield were there's only these crazy deranged hyperbullies all day? You're just fresh naive meat to them. Been there, saw it all.

16:00 You have no idea with how on point you are with using the word "borderline" in this instance. The people who that described behaviour in VtM are first off not roleplaying, they play themselves, and use the game, and rather abuse the DM and other players' time and nerves as a catalyst for their unfulfilled depraved fetishes and abuse fantasies. They are truly not good people and it's the very same types you often describe in 40k hobby nightmares baiting reactions for their politics or ruining the social groups by fishing for vulnerable nerds.
And why is it not roleplaying? Because Vampires in VtM don't even have a sex-drive. They have no libido. They can consciously control their blood flow throughout their bodies, but that's it. That is only a thing to help find prey, for nothing feels like anything but drinking blood, especially compared to it. Vampires in VtM would not bother with the describes actions unless it would fulfill some other purpose for them, but never for sexual pleasure itself, as they don't have that. Even the Toreador are merely using such as a means for their vanity. They want to be adored, not randomly touch people.

I absolutely love VTM. I have similar stories of disaster playing as a player. The grim darkness and closes to reality tend to lead to a lot of devisive / politically driven, and or very deviant / disgusting characters.
It takes A LOT of skill to stay on that social tightrope for a game like this. We are not super heros we also are supposed to be normal people deigned worthy of the kindred lifestyle.
As someone who is trying out storytelling for the first time. I have made it a mission of mine to find the most responsible people to enjoy the game and the way i wish to tell it, and I have had to be pretty brutal about it.
VtM is not for everyone, and certainly i think shouldnt be anyones first forray into TTrpgs

I would love have a discussion at length some time about tournament play and how the ITC handles balance and games for tournaments.
I do actually think there's a fair counter point to be had in that wins *do* matter and any army can be a good army if played well.

Second post… I don't normally do this in fact in might only be the second time ever. I don’t want to come across as the sycophant.
I probably will, but I mean what I’m about to say. I’ve never thought about role-playing in the way ❤
I’ve played role-play unless it’s been in a PC game called “Rift” I played as dwarf healer I did enjoy my 3000 hours.
What’s a good way of getting into a zoom DND or an online DND session is a vetting process. Is there a website that I could check out that would be really useful I am a complete noob. Thanks to everyone.
I like being a healer or helper and I'm happy not to be the centre of attention. I can take my pride for helping and never turn it into smugness.
I have play hundreds of raids with competent Guild leaders and kids as my leader who just screamed.
I learnt a lot playing that game. I always find the funny side but it’s okay to be sad sometimes just cause you’re a bloke doesn’t mean you don’t have feelings.
    Any advice welcome ✌️

I think one thing people need to realise when you play 40K for the first time is that a. This is a completely different game. You’ve most likely had no experience of battle tactics prior to this. And b. There’s no matchmaking. If you’re going against someone who goes to your hobby store, they’re probably a vet at this or know what their doing compared to you who is the equivalent of someone playing cod who has never picked up a controller before.
Overtime however, you will get good at the game, you will get better but it’s learning what works and what doesn’t. Knowing what your opponent goes for and what their preference of unit type is.
