    You know, when I was active in Gray's Harbor County, WA back in the 90s, many departments were still running 1960s equipment, and our neighboring dept was running a 1940s stick until 1994, when it became a parade truck...

      Dang!!!! How were they able to use a ladder truck so long without NFPA finding out, since NFPA says to replace a truck every 20 years

    • @billshaw770
      @billshaw770 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Emergency response Videos and returning fire medic Well, NFPA sets standards, but they are not OSHA or any other regulatory body. And Ocean Shores followed the certification procedures. It was interesting to see the amount of flex in that thing when they had the ladder pipe going.

    Don't think I've ever seen that many roto-rays on that many older apparatus before, ever.

      @406fish1 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also don't think I've seen that many 70's, 80's and 90's trucks with a q2B and powercalls guarantee over half of them were added on after purchase

    • @Stargazzer811
      @Stargazzer811 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@406fish1 To be fair, mechanical sirens including Q's have been in use for years. The Q2 goes back to the 1950s with the Q2A, which had no break. Rotorays are also fairly old, older than most think. But yes the powercalls were probably added later, probably as updates to the apparatus while they were in service.

    • @406fish1
      @406fish1 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Stargazzer811 Threw 1969 to 1995 Q2b’s were fairly rare specially on Hahn, Mack, pierce, and lefrance, also some of these really old trucks near horse drawn have brand new newer model q2b’s on them witch lead me to believe they were added on by the owners, but at the end of the day, it’s PA not out of the normal to see a bunch of ugly trucks with 10 Q2b’s and a roto ray on each side of the truck.

    • @Stargazzer811
      @Stargazzer811 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@406fish1 Well Pennsylvania is one of those states that takes the fire service VERY seriously. And in turn, its light and siren packages seriously. But if you want 2 Roto-rays, look up Warrenton Volunteer Fire Company in Virginia and look at their primary engines.
