    Nagy tévedés, ez egy igazi MAGYAR szablya, a markolat különbözteti meg a magyar szablyát a lengyeltől!!!

    I would love to own one like the 4th down on the rack I've begun studying Hema in the U.S. focusing in saber and I'd really like to branch out into polish forms there are absolutely no decent options here for this pattern of sword I know of szabala polska but was wondering if theres other makers with good reputation. I have been fascinated with the hussar fighting styles some people here gravitate towards katanas and stuff I believe polish saber may be one of the most refined and adaptable combat systems with a blade truly awesome to watch!

    Great video, do you have idea why there are different guard arm lengths on similar sabers? (for example classic polish saber vs karabela)

    • @jurekmiklaszewski7027
      @jurekmiklaszewski7027  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mostly fashion. Naturally demand and design changed it a lot. But for example a Hungarian style sabre (if that is what you mean by classic Polish sabre) had a useful crossguard in contrary to most karabela crossguards.

    Здравствуйте.
    Поскольку вы занимаетесь, то явно разбираетесь в теме.
    Скажите пожалуйста, что лучше для боя - сабля или катана?
    🤔
    Hello.
    Since you are practicing, you obviously know the subject.
    Can you please tell me which is better for fighting, a saber or a katana?

    excellent video. how many ounces did a typical Polish war saber weight? Thank you

    • @jurekmiklaszewski7027
      @jurekmiklaszewski7027  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I am not very good at ounces, so I will keep to grams. Depending on the type. Hungarian style sabre was around 700 to 800 , unless it was the broadswrod type, then it was 900 grams easilly. Hussar sabres were around 800 to 900 grams and often more.

    Hi! I have seen some small black "dots" (marks) and lines on the blade of some sabers, is it okay in general?

    So, I understand that the earliest version that we could identify as polish would be the Hungarian style with a thumb ring, which you dated to early 17th century. What was happening with sabers in the polish-lithuanian commonwealth earlier? Say early 16th century.

    • @jurekmiklaszewski7027
      @jurekmiklaszewski7027  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      So, the Polish Lithuanian commonwealth was created in 1569 by Lublin Union between Grand Duchy and Polish crown. So the early 16th century was still Jagiellonian dynasty in Poland. Back then sabres, in fact curved messers were part of civilian and plebeian weaponry. Most people did swords back then.
