The cycle of growth that hit the industry during COVID peaked six/eight months ago with huge number of new entrants and broadening of existing product types. This is the backside of that cycle for better or worse.
Most of the tackle I use on a regular basis is at least 30 years old, bought when I used to fish bass tournaments and work in the retail fishing industry. The only newer Items I use are some of my rods and reels and some terminal tackle.
Ehhhh I don't know. It just seems to be a lot of the basic stuff that goes on sale frequently at different retailers. As you said they're probably just trying to load off stock before the end of the year. I don't think it's anything to worry about. I tried finding some things I've been looking at getting for a while but of course everything I actually need isn't included in the sale.
Matt: If I remember correctly the fishing industry had amazing years during Covid. Fresh air and no politicians lead many people to water. I heard Wisconsin fishing licenses increased by 100,000. That would lead to huge increases in boats, motors, trailers and tackle. Now that we are back to normal, interests have probably changed leading to surplus inventory. I also agree with others who say increases in food, gas, etc. have to be addressed before new fishing tackle. We should all review our personal situation and vote accordingly.
40% off is a good sale, thanks. I wouldn’t be overly concerned, it’s just a seasonal clear out sale to move product. Now, let’s go fill up my shopping cart 🛒
🍺The majority of USA anglers are done fishing bass until next spring. Large Manufacturers like Strike king make a fortune making baits for .30 cents and distribute them for $3 to companies that then mark them up 40%-100%. If management guesses wrong and orders too much of the “next best thing” this is the time of year to put it on sale. I traditionally stock up on Black Friday sales and have enough tackle to last 2 lifetimes so I only need to purchase new items/tackle that comes out each year if it catches my eye and I think it’s actually an improvement. Core Tackle may not make profit selling at 40% off but the larger companies like TW likely can due to their buying power/quantities from the Manufacturers. 🤠

Many areas of retail double their purchase price to obtain a retail price. So if they're allowing a 40% discount, they're still making 10%. Plus probably gaining some new customers, and reducing overstocked inventory.
The concern is understood, however.. when it costs less than $1 to make and put a pack of soft plastics on a shelf and you can sell them for fine to ten times the cost, they make good money still. Sales do help move a ton of inventory but the companies still make a bundle. I’m not against it, just explaining. I’ve accumulated a bunch of stuff over the past 8 years thanks to sales and trying monthly boxes and bags. Now I’m just a 6th sense bag fan because they always give you more for your money. And the quality is amazing. I still keep an eye out for deals but for 90 percent or more of what I’m fishing, I’m well covered. I do enjoy trying new stuff though. I wouldn’t let a good sale stir me up. They are most likely getting rid of stuff and stocking up for the big sales in a month or two.

Tackle warehouse has never had a good sale that was worth looking into. Even when it's 20-25 % off its only a couple items. That's why they can't move product.
The sale is very specific and limited on the items on sale. Tatsu is limited to 200 yard spools of 22 pound test, for instance and Rage Bugs only have Fire Craw color listed for Buy More Save more. However, I figured out 20 assorted bags of soft plastics and then cherry picked some cool crankbaits and hard swimbaits! Thanks for letting us know!

I know you’re right about the economy . I have been to bass pro shop 3 times over the past few months and only spent 28.00. I make a lot of my baits to save money. A furniture store that’s been in business for over 50 years is closing their doors in our area. We might be keeping some of these bass for dinner the way it’s going. Good show thank You 8:57
You're sharp to notice what's going on here and you're not reading into it too much IMO. I'm glad you made this video. I sell goods online, and my friends do as well, all different types of products, for several years. We all report that sales have absolutely fallen off a cliff this year. This has a domino effect because then people panic and just try to get their money back, so they dump everything in large quantities at huge discounts. It's 100% related to the economy, inflation has eaten up people's disposable income. Even some of the wholesalers I use AND the manufacturing plants themselves are going out of business. Things are not good for a lot of our population. Well, except for those of us who like to score deals hehe.
There was a lot of baits they just needed to unload. I tried to get enough to get the 40% but just either didn’t use what they had or had enough already. So I looked at rods, reels, line and terminal but really nothing I use anymore.
This economy has kicked my butt. I haven't bought fishing anything in 6 months. I don't think it is just the fishing industry. I am trying to save up for a newer vehicle and can barely stay above water.
Having been a small business owner I believe there’s 2 main reasons for TW sale. End of fishing season reducing product left being warehoused and wanting inventory low to reduce the quarterly tax businesses are required to pay come October then again in January all the while TW won’t need that inventory cause fishing season shuts down for many of us. I took advantage of TW sale buying twice the amount of jig heads while still paying the same price had I only ordered the exact quantity I wanted.
Hello Matt. This is the way to get people to spend more money at a site than they would normally. IE. You spend $400 on products that you would not. As you said, this is the off-season for fishing. So they do a hard sail to Entice Impulse buying. You will notice that in the spring, though, in summer, they will have sails on products for that time of year. Trust me, they are not losing money. If you buy 2 products at a 20% markup or 6 products at a 10% markup, they are still making a profit and moving more inventory to boot. Ok, tight lines. Regards, Steven.
Only very select items are part of that amazing sale. . not everything qualifies. I put like 50 thing in my cart and 2. . only 2 qualified for that discount sale. SO. . not as big of a sale as it may seem. Looking at the items they had that DID qualify I understand why such a big discount, they can't sell most of it normally, just trying to off load it as fast as possible to open room for better stuff.
I was wondering the same thing The Hook Up Tackle has been having these crazy sales like they’re trying to dump everything and I feel the exact way it’s great, but it has me really worried about their business it would be horrible if anything happens to them.
I'm surprised TW hasn't done this in years prior. Anyone who's ever been involved with retail tackle sales knows that there is a TON of stuff left on the shelf at the end of the season. That's one reason the margins are a what they are; to make up for not selling 25% of what you stocked. Most big box stores, and I assume TW, sell it all in bulk to another discount outfit, for pennies on the dollar, to resale at a deep discount to the consumer. I hope it's not indicative of what's coming. But, I think we are set to pay for the past few decades of out of control spending, at least on the federal level. We better get our ducks in row.
I think it's a sign of the times. The booming economy has slowed down. People aren't fishing as much or spending as much money on hobbies when they're struggling to put food on the table. We aren't seeing the shortages of baits like we were during covid when everyone and their brother was out on the water. Unless something changes, i think it's going to continue.
Box stores typically order product based off of the years prior sales. so, if Tackle Warehouse had a good year or years in sales there buyers will purchase more based of those prior sales. With the economy being what it is now I would say they have an excess of SKU's in stock and with the new products coming out this fall they need to off load there excess product. And of course, they need to do it before the end of the year. Even if they lose money, liquidating it may help them on taxes. If they have to much prior year product it hurts, there future buying from their suppliers. That is my thought, and I may be totally off base.
Another side effect from the FFS. More traditional style tackle sales across the board are way down from what I’ve read because everyone that has FFS are using the do nothing minnow style baits and not much else. I also wonder if tackle sales are down because of a pandemic after effect. During the pandemic there were tons of new fishermen. Kayak sales went through the roof too. I see fishing kayaks that are barely used selling on Facebook marketplace constantly. Now that it’s been a while I think some of those people went back to the older pre-pandemic lifestyle and haven’t stuck around.
Hard not to point to the economy. For we older folks grocery and medical costs are significantly higher today than 3-4 years ago. Double in many cases. Although fuel prices have gone down, we are still paying more than double what we were in that same period. The price of everything we buy is affected by the price of gasoline, diesel fuel, electricity and natural gas. We need to eat, we need to travel, we don’t need (we may want but don’t need) fishing rods, line, lures, etc. We make do with what we already have. We went through a huge boat buying period during and shortly after Covid. Boat sales were crazy, at least according to the dealers. Now people aren’t getting that free money from the feds and all of a sudden there’s another expense not necessary. Sell the boat to make up for the loss of buying power of your dollar. No fishing boat, less fishing. Finally, the psychological effect of a country seemingly in trouble and unstable, has to influence buying hobby, fun stuff. You have every right to be concerned. You have a great show and you are insightful. Thanks for that. Now I’m off to Tackle Warehouse site to help them reduce their inventory.
@@MattStefanFishing I enjoy your down to earth podcasts. Returning to bass fishing after a 15 year hiatus, your show helps me to catch up on all the new baits and techniques. Still manage to catch a few on the red Culprit worms my wife brought back to me from Florida in the mid 80’s. Tight lines and strong knots.
Kwik Trip will do these sales where they loose money. Its partly about just getting you in the store and if you remember the great deal you got you will keep coming back
I don’t pay much attention to the tournament sponsors, but if General Tire pulled out of the fishing industry, I believe that’s more concerning than anything
It means your single $10 lure should be selling for only $6 to begin with and they'll still be making a decent profit on it at the $6 price. I worked in a department store decades ago and things were only NOT on sale one maybe two days the most out of the week. And in the end, the more you buy the more you spend and the more they make with or without volume "discounts".
So what is MLF going to do now that General Tire pulled out???? I've been told that Tackle Warehouse has this sale every year. Keep the informative video's coming.
Thanks for the heads up, with the high post and packaging costs to the UK that would make it worthwhile. Too many players in a finite market, mainly due to cheap Chinese suppliers. It's surprising how many so called high end manufacturers have most or all of their gear made in China, Megabass Dark Sleepers being a case in point.
I noticed being a tackle junky that products you normally have to be on right away to get what you want before they sell out that stuff did not sell out. I was like wow not normal.
Sales are probably at an all time high, but there are so many SKUs and influencer marketing is moving on to a new one so quickly that they get stuck with large inventory of yesterday’s baits.
Very confusing economy in general as you still have a ton of money being spent. Go to an airport and you’ll see it’s still packed, concerts are still being filled, restaurants packed etc. but the discretionary spending areas are shrinking and people are being more judicious. Stock market is at all time highs still. But those that don’t have, are really hit hard. Our local tackle shop said FFS gas definitely affected sales. The markup though is insane. They can sell product at 40-50% off and still not lose money.
Inventory reduction. The cost of money is way up so there is less capital to invest. My retirement dollar is worth 87 cent versus 2019. Home interest rates are in the high 7’s and consumables are up around 27 percent. The manufactures are bracing themselves for a future increase in a possible down turn that is a continuation of the last four years. The price index is easy to find and graph. You are right Matt to be wondering why there are so many flash sales.
I went to tackle warehouse yesterday to get a super spook and some Rico topwater baits. It ended up costing me over $700! I found the Berkeley Maxscent flatworm colors I use in a couple special places we’re 40% off a special one-day sale and were included in the buy more save or sale that made them three dollars instead of nine dollars. I found a real that was already 25% off and stacked another 40 off of that, found some rain gear that was on sale and then another 40 off of that. They broke me man! As far as the Fishing industry is concerned, yeah, it’s absolutely a sign that the hard economic times have hit our disposable income. The Fed cutting interest rates half a point right before the election you a lot. I’m not here to talk about politics, but I will say this, vote with your wallet!
Out of curiosity, what of the glide Cameron did you buy? I know you fish a lot of clear water like I have on the St. Lawrence. And since it is 31/2 “ what size ozark rig /hook did you use? The smoke cinnamon Looks pretty good.
I buy way more tackle than I fish with, as I have been modernizing my lure inventory from the olden day stash. But I pretty much wait for the sales prices, because regardless of economy, it's hard for me to justify as little as I fish these days. I just love lures.
I can only just speak for myself. My money aint going as far as it was in spite of getting a so called cost of living adjustment. I have had some other unplanned expenses too. I am not about to log on to the TW sale. That would be like going to the brothel just to hang out. I need to fish with what I have. I see some deals on outboards too, I would love to replace my 08 yama with a 4 stroke, maybe next year. ps I paid 2.94 for diesel the other day beats the 4.70 it was.
And by the way, after all of the minnow style baits sold recently id imagine not near as many of the other lures have been sold since the ffs explosion!!
What you are saying & I agree with you btw, is music to the ears of Federal Reserve Board which had just concluded (for now) an historic rate rise of interest rates in the shortest amount of time to cut consumer buying/spending by way of increasing borrowing cost. Lay offs & bankruptcies (save for the "Too Big To Fail" companies) are considered necessary collateral damage. Btw its a way to keep labor aware that they need to learn they are expendable & please act as such. Least Also wonder if FFS weeny baits with associated tackle hurts the market for power fishing & other techniques?
@@MattStefanFishing In 1982, the year I moved to WV they drove the official state unemployment rate to 25% in November by way of interest rate increases to 22%. In my mind this was the first shot across the bow that sounded the beginnings of the deindustrialization of the US economy.
TW has not had this kind of sale before. All tackle vendors are desperate to move merchandise because lots of anglers including myself just do not have the funds to be buying tackle. Look at all the craze sales that THT is having every other day.
They won't offer a discount they can't afford. Just shows you what the margin on these things are more than anything. They pay about 20-30% of what msrp says something should cost.
I think fishing equipment is definitely too expensive and hurting sales, but i don’t think this is a big sign. There wasn’t exactly a bunch of green pumpkin senko types of lures in that sale. It was just a bunch of stuff that doesn’t sell well/ is too expensive. I bet they just need to make room. Think about all the lures that have been announced this year
Can probably thank ffs for tackle sales i’ve been buying from tackle warehouse for over 10 years they never had a sale like that tackle stores usually make 30 to 40%. I know a person that used to own a boat store and tackle store. That’s what he told me. Need to completely go back to old-school fishing. I was glad to see what the bass pro tour did partially eliminating facing sonar it’s gonna hurt all of us in the long run
I'm a bee keeper honey sales and bee sales are down 50% . We have been building selling ice fishing equipment for 50 years. Those shops mark up 100% and they don't pay for anything up front. Everything is fronted like the drug business. They need to pay their supplier off why the sales.. interest rates alot people mortgage tripled.. bad times for people adjustable mortgage .. they needed to bail out the banks . Tackle warehouse has amazing customer service.. I bought new plug box and the latch got bent a little. I told them I was able to bend it back just fine but maybe next time pack them different for shipping. They didn't have to refund 100% of my money and let me keep the box . Heck I ordered another one. I didn't expect a refund at all. Sounds like you need to start making your own lures . How I found the channel im doing research before I hire a patent lawyer for my invention your doing something very similar just in a different way. Same results. Just hard to sell it your way ..
It's definitely weaker. The deals rod companies are doing, the amount of inventory in stores has shrunk. Less SKUs being carried. But I don't think it's just the fishing industry.
I would guess it's two things; one that during the pandemic there were major shortages and things were over-ordered and now there's a surplus. 2nd is the unfortunate result in people not having as much expendable income. Just a guess though I'm just a dumb fisherman lol
The shit is about to hit the fan. If you get a bait that you really like from a small bait company you might want to load up. Venom has been around for years and if they are hurting everyone is.
I browsed the sale. . . . I noticed Tackle Warehouse inflated the 'regular prices' on some items prior to posting them on this sale. For example . . . a Plane Edge 3600 tackle tray doesn't normally retail for $44.99 . . . maybe $30.00 . . . . I'll pass.
I was extremely disappointed in the sale. The selection was very limited. I wasn’t going to buy 20 items just to get 40% off. I scrolled through for a good 30 minutes and decided to back out.
As a finance guy don't you think this is a supply vs. demand problem? I am seeing the same with model trains, stamps and even Las Vegas recently. Folks do not have as much discretionary income for their hobbies/interests. Fun to be a buyer if you have the means. Even the $25 craps tables are now $10!
@@MattStefanFishing thanks, figured it out. Not my kinda sale. I have tackle like a pro. Example wanted some new spro little John colors....only 1 color on sale. But im sure good deal for some. I do like when have 25 % or more off i then buy 1000 gift card
Baits are way over priced. And with most people now buying just FFS and Live Scope minnows that’s the biggest issue. Nobody is buying the normal baits now. So they have no choice but to move the old inventory as fast as they can to make room for the new ones coming. Matt you know this. Everyone knows this but to afraid to say it. Man up.
I'm gonna start diving for baits. You see Ed the Diver here on youtube. I fish in one of the spots he dives. I know I can get 300 bucks worth of lures in a 45 minute dive. Fun hobby and sell some lures too. No need to buy new for me.
Not an expert by any means! But I don't think the fishing industry is necessarily going away but I think in recent years there was a degree of oversaturation, which makes a seasonal low seem worse
Mat, great points, however, they have, meaning Tackle Warehouse, much higher profit margins, and with the uncertainty of what goes on on around or after the election, it may be a good idea to dump a bunch of product. I wouldn’t read into it too much. Love the content appreciate your videos about Rod building getting me back into making rods again.!!
It is concerning. I’ve never seen that sale and they have had more sales than any year I remember. Been a faithful customer for years and years. The sad part is I can’t afford to participate in that sale cause I already did for all the other sales. The economy is straight trash. Hope they make it.
Not the first time or industry this strategy has been implemented. Like the sales before the Black Friday sale, get that money first! Going with, hoping this is supply and demand on display, take advantage of it if we can. These same market forces will effect the manufacturers too, as you suggested Venom Lures may have fallen on hard times. Separating the wheat from the chaff. Think of all the great old lures have gone the way of the Dodo.
Honestly I think all it means is the markup is crazy in the first place. We've somehow become accustomed to paying $7 to $15 for a pack of plastic

Thanks for sharing with us
There was a lot of baits they just needed to unload.

I think most of us feel your pain
Inflation is a real problem.
Nobody cared about future inflation when we got bribed off with free 1200 stimulus money.

Your probably right
Only very select items are part of that amazing sale. . not everything qualifies. I put like 50 thing in my cart and 2. . only 2 qualified for that discount sale. SO. . not as big of a sale as it may seem. Looking at the items they had that DID qualify I understand why such a big discount, they can't sell most of it normally, just trying to off load it as fast as possible to open room for better stuff.
i disagree...there's 8500 different items and i had no problem filling my cart with them.
I work in the fishing industry for a major rod and reel manufacturer and your thoughts are pretty spot on.
I also work in the industry and agree
I was wondering the same thing The Hook Up Tackle has been having these crazy sales like they’re trying to dump everything and I feel the exact way it’s great, but it has me really worried about their business it would be horrible if anything happens to them.
yeah it’d break my heart if they did a big sale on all that expensive megabass stuff lol
😂😂 Ben is doing fine trust me !!
Oh man now i need to check out their sales 🤦♂️
@@MattStefanFishing yeah it’s crazy all the stuff and how much of a discount you get right now
@@corybodiker6243 shops like that are probably okay. That's the Gucci level. He's probably safe.
The last 4 years have been rough on the working class folks....
Unfortunately
Wait another 4 years if Commila gets some 2am help.

Sales have to be way down , not good , I think u are correct
I hope not
I think it's a sign of the times. The booming economy has slowed down. People aren't fishing as much or spending as much money on hobbies when they're struggling to put food on the table. We aren't seeing the shortages of baits like we were during covid when everyone and their brother was out on the water. Unless something changes, i think it's going to continue.
It could
I don't think I've spent $400 in tackle over the last 3 years in total and I'm on the water once /week all year round because I live in Florida ...lol
Haha

Agreed
I can’t believe Berkley doesn’t supply your Tackle. FFS is hurting bait sales. Most everyone is using using FFS type baits.
I get some from Berkley but it’s limited
At the end of the summer sales, ice fishing next, they are clearing summer inventory. Not to be worried.
Yep

Market corrections incoming in all industries. Especially the auto industry.
Hold on
Kwik Trip will do these sales where they loose money. Its partly about just getting you in the store and if you remember the great deal you got you will keep coming back
I do love kwik trip
Speaks volumes about WHAT it ACTUALLY cost to make this stuff...pennies to make it, dollars to buy it! Nice topic, tight lines.
I own a tackle company and we would be losing money in this sale. It’s not as cheap to make as you think
I don’t pay much attention to the tournament sponsors, but if General Tire pulled out of the fishing industry, I believe that’s more concerning than anything
Yep
It means your single $10 lure should be selling for only $6 to begin with and they'll still be making a decent profit on it at the $6 price. I worked in a department store decades ago and things were only NOT on sale one maybe two days the most out of the week. And in the end, the more you buy the more you spend and the more they make with or without volume "discounts".
Thanks for sharing
So what is MLF going to do now that General Tire pulled out???? I've been told that Tackle Warehouse has this sale every year. Keep the informative video's coming.
General tire is a big loss for bass fishing not just MLF
Thanks for the heads up, with the high post and packaging costs to the UK that would make it worthwhile. Too many players in a finite market, mainly due to cheap Chinese suppliers. It's surprising how many so called high end manufacturers have most or all of their gear made in China, Megabass Dark Sleepers being a case in point.
agreed
This makes total sense what your saying, I just hope it doesnt represent trouble ahead for the fishing world.
Me too
Didn't know about the sale I will check it out through your link thanks for letting us know Matt 👍🏻
No problem 👍
I noticed being a tackle junky that products you normally have to be on right away to get what you want before they sell out that stuff did not sell out. I was like wow not normal.
Agreed

They can sell product at 40-50% off and still not lose money.
agreed
Inventory reduction. The cost of money is way up so there is less capital to invest. My retirement dollar is worth 87 cent versus 2019. Home interest rates are in the high 7’s and consumables are up around 27 percent. The manufactures are bracing themselves for a future increase in a possible down turn that is a continuation of the last four years. The price index is easy to find and graph. You are right Matt to be wondering why there are so many flash sales.
A
Yep all I’m saying is this isn’t a yearly sale and i don’t think it’s a positive indicator for economy strength
It's the economy, it's just not that good right now and as retail goes they are trying to clear out their inventory for next year. Great video Matt!!
Thanks!
Haha i hear you. I spent way to much
Well coming up winter time and you know sales will go down and think about how much make up if they can cut the price that much

Out of curiosity, what of the glide Cameron did you buy? I know you fish a lot of clear water like I have on the St. Lawrence. And since it is 31/2 “ what size ozark rig /hook did you use? The smoke cinnamon
Looks pretty good.
I bought smoke cinnamon craw, dark goby , green pumpkins, root beer
@@MattStefanFishing Thanks Matt!
I buy way more tackle than I fish with, as I have been modernizing my lure inventory from the olden day stash. But I pretty much wait for the sales prices, because regardless of economy, it's hard for me to justify as little as I fish these days. I just love lures.
Me too!
Hahaha
Thanks for the info Matt! Have a great day sir!
And by the way, after all of the minnow style baits sold recently id imagine not near as many of the other lures have been sold since the ffs explosion!!
You too!
Used your link last week, thanks for everything you do
Awesome! Thank you!
I’m not a fan of the federal reserve…
@@MattStefanFishing In 1982, the year I moved to WV they drove the official state unemployment rate to 25% in November by way of interest rate increases to 22%. In my mind this was the first shot across the bow that sounded the beginnings of the deindustrialization of the US economy.
TW has not had this kind of sale before. All tackle vendors are desperate to move merchandise because lots of anglers including myself just do not have the funds to be buying tackle. Look at all the craze sales that THT is having every other day.
Yep
They won't offer a discount they can't afford.
Just shows you what the margin on these things are more than anything. They pay about 20-30% of what msrp says something should cost.
Yes but they are selling at 40% off MSRP
It’s the economy brother... retail sales are down across the board.
Yep

Used boat sales also coming down from the crazy Covid highs
Yep
Thanks for sharing! Btw i love bees you’re helping the world with them little guys!
I did the same thing...over $300 before I forced myself to check out!!! Tackle junky heaven!!
Haha it was hard getting myself to stop
Thanks Matt
You bet
It's definitely weaker. The deals rod companies are doing, the amount of inventory in stores has shrunk. Less SKUs being carried. But I don't think it's just the fishing industry.
Might not be
I would guess it's two things; one that during the pandemic there were major shortages and things were over-ordered and now there's a surplus. 2nd is the unfortunate result in people not having as much expendable income. Just a guess though I'm just a dumb fisherman lol
I wish fisherman ran the country
The shit is about to hit the fan. If you get a bait that you really like from a small bait company you might want to load up. Venom has been around for years and if they are hurting everyone is.
I saw where Dustin is shutting down. Sad sad day!
Yep
I browsed the sale. . . . I noticed Tackle Warehouse inflated the 'regular prices' on some items prior to posting them on this sale.
For example . . . a Plane Edge 3600 tackle tray doesn't normally retail for $44.99 . . . maybe $30.00 . . . . I'll pass.
That was not the case with the items i purchased
Pretty cool seeing a whole herd of kids buying up all the plopper floppers at sportsmans yesterday after they seen me catching bass haha
Ok
Is the heavy use of FFS narrowing down the variety of tackle people are buying?
No.
I believe so
I spent $250 yesterday at TW. Man is it good.
Haha
I was extremely disappointed in the sale. The selection was very limited. I wasn’t going to buy 20 items just to get 40% off. I scrolled through for a good 30 minutes and decided to back out.
sorry to hear that...all the good stuff was gone in the first few days
The ghost at 1:50 is runnin' to report you xD. In all seriousness the cost of stuff these days has gotten out of control!
Haha
Just think of the volume they are moving to get the 40% off. They're not hurting on profit.
You hit it that it's the end of season.
I don’t think they are making anything on these sales honestly
Thanks Matt I just spent 250.00 on the sale.
Jeff at Fork
haha your welcome and im sorry
As a finance guy don't you think this is a supply vs. demand problem? I am seeing the same with model trains, stamps and even Las Vegas recently. Folks do not have as much discretionary income for their hobbies/interests. Fun to be a buyer if you have the means. Even the $25 craps tables are now $10!
Agreed
Bass fishing is cooked, the ESPN era is over. If it ever returns you’ll see everyone attached to a screen twitching a minnow

Your old lady’s gonna kick your butt Matt , tackle is a luxury in a tough economy, I’ll check the sale out though
Haha
Is it 20 items on sale to save 40 or 20 of same item
I believe both would qualify. Mix and match any 20 items
@@MattStefanFishing thanks, figured it out. Not my kinda sale. I have tackle like a pro. Example wanted some new spro little John colors....only 1 color on sale. But im sure good deal for some. I do like when have 25 % or more off i then buy 1000 gift card
I have spent very little on new gear and tackle this yr. Everything is outrageous
I hear you
Baits are way over priced. And with most people now buying just FFS and Live Scope minnows that’s the biggest issue. Nobody is buying the normal baits now. So they have no choice but to move the old inventory as fast as they can to make room for the new ones coming. Matt you know this. Everyone knows this but to afraid to say it. Man up.
I don’t disagree that hard baits are not selling well
I'm gonna start diving for baits.
Yep
They have a sale every year this time but never this type.
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for sharing
It is concerning. I’ve never seen that sale and they have had more sales than any year I remember. Been a faithful customer for years and years. The sad part is I can’t afford to participate in that sale cause I already did for all the other sales. The economy is straight trash. Hope they make it.
Besides the sales they always had the best selection at the best prices at the regular price. Excellent company for tackle junkies.
Thanks for watching
Is core tackle one of them 😁
You’ll have to check to see
lol I did the same thing and spent like 450 bucks but got a lot of stuff
Haha
Not the first time or industry this strategy has been implemented. Like the sales before the Black Friday sale, get that money first! Going with, hoping this is supply and demand on display, take advantage of it if we can. These same market forces will effect the manufacturers too, as you suggested Venom Lures may have fallen on hard times. Separating the wheat from the chaff. Think of all the great old lures have gone the way of the Dodo.
Thanks for watching
White river marine Mercury tough times 👍👍👍👍👍

Matt, I don’t think you’ll save $$$. I’ll just buy more like you😂😂😂😂

It’s something that literally every kind of retail store/outlet does to clear out inventory 🤣🤣🤣
But TW has never done it before
Are 5 inch Yamamoto senkos on sale?
Didn’t look
They are.
@@JohnRobertson870 That would make them $4.65 cents a pack if you buy 20 packs ( not bad )
