Hello Gayle. I just love your video's. I just started junk journaling about a year ago. It's very therapeutic. I wanted to give you a tip. I use a accudril for the holes in the spine. It makes live easier. 😀 Kind regards from the netherlands 🇳🇱 Henriette.
You are so genuine and open. I would watch and listen to you even if you were sharing something I had no interest in. But of course, I love your creations also which is a double blessing for me. Thanks for sharing your joy as well as your talent!
Whouaa i m french and i look your vidéo, it s very good idea I live in France in Nantes but i don t speak very well english 😀😀😀😀 I love your journals, have a good week
I do love that you show us your struggles and boo boo's while making these Gayle. You know, I think it also gives newbies insight to why these journals cost so much. Most do not realize the time it takes to prepare a handmade journal or any handmade item for that matter. Thanks again Gayle. It's beautiful.
Thank YOU, Donna, for the wonderful inspiration your happy mail provided! I finished the journal this afternoon, so a flip through video will be coming soon!! Hugs to you, my friend! ❤️
I am wanting to make a Big Bertha- like Shannon Green- a lap size type glue book for my niece--this is really helpful in trying to design something custom for my niece. This is wonderful!!
Thanks Gayle for this video!!! I was working on sewing together my first ever signature, got part way and started second guessing myself! LOL Lucikly, I knew I could count on you!!! 😁 It was like we were crafting together!!! THANK YOU for your fantastical videos!!!
Gayle girl, OMG thanks so much for sharing your videos, it's been a long time since I've found someone like you who has impressed me w their projects and stuff, right now ur my junk journal wonder woman, thank you so much Gayle, stay blessed
The Beaded Brain by Alicia Healy Aaww, Alicia, you are so sweet! Thank you for your so kind comment!! I sure love what I do and sharing it with all of you is such a joy! Blessings back to you, my friend! ❤️
I just love the fabric and look forward to seeing the flip through and yes I forgot to say what video I would like to see but I think you remembered I was so intrigued with your paper patterns of coffee dying 😉 Thank you ....hugs and blessings from AZ 🌴🌞🌵
You can do it, Linda!! Just dive in and remember...it's only paper and a little fabric. If it doesn't go like you'd like, just start again. But most of all have fun! That's what it's all about! ❤️
Hi Gayle! I laughed with you and felt your pain. LOL ;-) Perhaps attach a small piece of post it note on the spine fabric and poke your awl hole through the post it note too to be able to see the hole more clearly. Just a thought for you. Hope this helps for future fabric covers. ;-) Love your work! Thanks for sharing!
Gayle Agostinelli No worries! I'm a newbie to all of this craft, but getting excited about trying my hand at it. Still in collecting stage, learning from all you great ladies, and slowly planning for what to create. I'm just thrilled to maybe meet new creative crafting friends here to have some fun. Thanks again forsharing your awesome projects! ;-)
Woohoo!! Love this video...just watched and sewed in my signature. Yours is beautiful and mine is wonky (crooked) but that's okay...at least it is sewn in. Gayle, thank you for all your amazing videos!!
Such a pretty journal and YES, thank you for sharing the “struggle” with getting the needle through...it was very helpful to see how you worked it out...I am loving your incredibly beautiful work and tutorials
Very gorgeous journal cover..I always have trouble doing signatures I’ve about given up so many times but I just take a break and come back. Thanks for another great video😀
Those vintage wallpapers You use are My favorite thing. hint hint! lol I've just found someone selling some from the 50's. Gonna have to get them at the end of the Month.
I’m enjoying your videos and learning some good things. On this journal, I am wondering how you sewed the fabric to the envelope? Do you show that step in another video?
Just saw this comment, Gail. I do have a video where I show making fabric covers for the journals over 9x12 envelopes. You should find it if you search my channel. ❤️
I'm making my very first junk journal, and am fixing to sew in my signatures. I was nervous, but after watching this, feel like I can do it! Here's a question: When do you decide to use grommets?
Hi Carol! I’m sorry I just now saw your comment! (Don’t know why I only get notifications on some comments, not all.). I’m not sure I quite understand your question on grommets. Do you mean on the spine? I haven’t ever made a journal with spine grommets (though it’s on my list!). I use little tiny grommets sometimes on the edge to close the books. For instance, on my Little Golden Book journals. I know that’s not a very good answer, but I wasn’t quite sure what you were asking. Thanks so much for watching! Hugs! ❤️
I have a question about the how the cover is done Gayle. You said it's an envelope, batting and fabric on each side. So, did you put them altogether and then sew all the layers at the same time? Or did you sew around the fabric and glue each layer on.? If you do another fabric cover I would love to see the process. I sure enjoy and appreciate you taking the time to do these tutorials!
Hi Angela! Yes, I need to do a whole fabric cover tutorial for sure. Several people have asked. Just to answer your question. I sew all the layers at once. I use a little glue to hold the fabric to the envelope, so they don't slip. I'll try and do the tutorial soon! ❤️
AmourFabriques on Etsy has beautiful fabrics and Sheila Gingrich (I think) on Facebook sometimes sell them. I’ve also heard of people finding them on EBay. ❤️
I just luv this beautiful boho journal. Its one of my favorites!!!! Thank you for showing us technique Gayle!!!💜

Gayle how many papers do you usually use for your fabric journals to make the signature?

If your hubby has a drill press, I wonder if making the holes would be super easy. Anybody ever tried that?
I am getting to the point where it's time to sew my signatures together and for some reason I am so scared, LOL.
Gorgeous and love your honesty and spontaneity. It’s always so much fun to watch you Gayle. Would you be able to share a good source for sari fabric.
