In this movie they really strayed far from Peters character in the books. Peter wasn’t arrogant, he was there for a purpose and his year he spent in Narnia, ruling as High King through the Golden Age showed in the books. He even said to Caspian when they met: “Your Majesty is very welcome,” said Caspian. “And so is your Majesty,” said Peter. “I haven’t come to take your place, you know, but to put you into it.” (Lewis 184) Peter was very selfless and knew that it was time for him to pass on his power to a new king. They changed his character very dramatically.

It was very upsetting to see how they made so many negative changes to how the characters conduct themselves and relate to each other. The biggest thing for me was how Peter and Caspian are made to be rivals in the film when in the books, Caspian idolized Peter and Peter even made certain to let Caspian know that he had the utmost respect for him (as your comment rightfully points out.) In the books, Peter was always very noble and honorable as the eldest Pevensie child. As a young boy; I always strived to be like him and as a 14 year old when the first movie came out, he was my instant favorite as William Mosley really brought all of Peter's strengths to life. They got his character spot on and so it was with much disappointment when he was so arrogant and confrontational in Prince Caspian. It's no wonder Caspian and Dawn Treader weren't as well received as they really did stray from what C.S. Lewis intended.
Here's how I think about all the characters: Peter: He's gorgeous!! Susan: She's beautiful! Lucy: Super cute! Edmund: 😱😱😱😱😱 EDMUND!!!!! OH MY GOD!!!! ITS HOT IN HERE!!!! HOT HOT HOT HOT!!
I simply love the movies of Narnia..... I love these guys.... they seemed to be real siblings... I love to watch will and Georgie together.. they are really bonded to each other like true brother and sister... miss them.

I want to thank my father for litterarly letting me alone in the cinema and telling me to watch a movie till he returned from his Army patrol which was 2 hours, best two hours i've spent in my life and i'm writing it now that i'm 18 and when i first watched the Prince Caspian film i was 9 almost ten years later and my opinion hasn't changed! I revisited the movies two years ago and read the books in English since i couldn't find them in Greek two years ago, they helped me deal with my paternal's grandma's death and the anger i had for not being able to say goodbye to her due to the streets of my country being blocked by protestors i couldn't even go to the funeral! Now two years later my maternal grandma died and i was yet again not able to say goodbye to her because my entire family wanted to keep it a secret from me and let me focus on my Pan-Helenic and English Proficiency exams but i figure it out...i had a nightmare that grandma died and i was selfishly sleeping after studying all day and night when the phone ring and dad told me that grandma was okay and sleeping (a lie) she had fallen asleep and her heart stopped...she died in her sleep just like my dream. I told my dad that i knew he was lying because i saw her in my dreams....then he broke down saying that he is sorry for lying to me and not to tell my little sister. What was more tragic than that was the fact that the day my mum's mum died was my mum's 40th birthday and just two day after my 18th birthday....i had this weird chest pressing feeling that day and i told mum that once i was done reading and had taken a nap i would spent the entire afternoon with grandma and aunt Elena...just three hours after i said that she died...thankfully i went to the funeral and i cried my eyes out for both my grandmas. On September just three months later my grand-aunt Vasiliki died while i was away in Italy and i got the call from my sister while i was standing outside a Catholic church and wondering if she was alright since the last couple days she was on my mind and i felt sad for no reason just as my sister said "She's dead" the bells of the church started ringing i couldn't attend that funeral either and it angered me! Just then i told my Erasmus group that i will be back and walked inside the church...now as an Eastern Orthodox Christian it's considered offensive to walk inside a Catholic church but i didn't care i wanted to light a candle or something in her memory...i end up sitting in a bench and crying alone until the priest saw me and sat next to me and asked me in Italian if i was okay...when i told him in English that i just lost my grand-aunt and there was no Eastern Orthodox church around here to light up a candle it was my only solution...i expected the priest to kick me out but he said that in God's eyes there are no Catholics or Orthodoxes we are all His children and that if i felt like it would help me heal by coming in that chapel i was welcomed to stay for as long as i wanted. I was shocked by his words and for some reason they reminded me of Aslan's character so when i was back in my country i revisted the books and movies as a way for me to heal... And i'll say it again...BEST TWO HOURS OF MY LIFE!
