- Digital tools allowed Mammoet's engineers to lift a new filter module for @arcelormittal before setting foot on site.
This technology reduced many operations to a single lift, reducing on-site disruption and saving time.
Mammoet's engineers could prove the lift out in an entirely virtual scenario, before putting that work into practice in northern France.

Would have been nice to see the lift actually being done. Instead it was just how great their 3d software is.

The plant I work at was owned by Arcelor Mitral but thankfully got purchased recently as Mittal refused to invest and treated us poorly.

Proper Preparation Prevent P*** Poor Performance....great work from the Mammoet team...as is always expected within the ultra heavy lift industry...brilliance from the leader in the industry...not unexpected from such a company where no two lifts or projects are the same....just awesome!!!!

Being involved in the technical, functional design and prototype phase, it is great to see where this tool has already evolved to.
So, unlike most Mammoet videos, this was a commercial for Move3D. I am curious, did Mammoet develop Move3D inhouse?.

Very cool, but you could have said everything in a 5 minute video if you didn't repeat everything 4 times with different words.
A teaser of a video, implying tremendous obstacles without showing them in detail, emphasizing the role of the 3D program without showing how simulations work out in reality. I would enjoy watching the build of the crane in the tight space, the measuring of the clearances, and the actual lift. But thank you for showing us what you have.
We're going to lift this thing without touching it, so we're going to build a large crane and hook it up... thereby touching it...

I'm impressed; on the one hand it is banal for being the manufacturing sector's computer-aided design/manufacture/measure loop applied to lifting, and on the other it is technology that borders on magical.

I can see how, in some situations, Move 3D could benefit from incorporating 3D Laser Mapping.
Enjoyed the presentation.
I think they had point clouds in there, so I was assuming they did use something like laser, lidar or photo scanning and reverse modelling.

Great to see that digital technology is now strong enough to 3D scan the site and to simulate all movements of the crane and load. Saves sooo much time.
Does the used program also enable to simulate the ground-pressures during the whole lift?
The lower arm of the crane seemed to me to be almost vertical, how do you assure it does not fall backwards?
The jib (upper part) was tilted down.

Very impressive on Mammoet's part, but who designs a plant where changing a filter is that difficult? How often does this have to happen?
The old filter that we had to replace dated from 1969 and was no longer effective with regard to European environmental regulations (new climate laws), hence the choice to replace the old one with a new hybrid filter. Moreover, the construction of the new hybrid filter next to the old one meant that only 4 months of production line downtime was lost instead of the 9 months that would have been lost if the filter had been installed in the standard way with a simple tower crane (like the construction of buildings).
So the choice was a logical one.

If you contract them to move your entire house, yes.
Note for the video editor...please don't use constant flashes of light and flickering frames, I know its for effect but its uncomfortable and off-putting to watch. Please don't follow in the footsteps of the B1M. Thank you.
this was a fantastic concept and project, but to make a 4 minute video 11 minutes is very excessive. Would love to just see the lift afterwards
How to get move 3d software?
Hi Hassan! We're afraid it's used internally to engineer Mammoet projects. It's not commercially available. However, you can expect it to appear many times in Mammoet videos from now on!

multi million dollars in savings with cutting downtime in half and also multiple lifts. 1 lift with minimal rental time of the crane compared to multiple lifts with massive rental time over months and also more than double the down time of the plant. decision was a no brainer and a massive savings

at 09:30 minutes the load is rotated - how is this rotation controlled?
There are people with lines on multiple corners, so that they can start and stop the rotation in a controlled way. It's not a crane function to rotate the load, at least on this kind of crane.
It is the MAMMOET Team on floor who manage with ropes the rotation of this kind of Ringer Crane (PTC35 DS). They use also Car Lift (manuscopic, Manitou, Clarck... etc...). This kind of crane does not have an automated (command-controlled) rotary lifting block. So it's done by the MAMMOET teams with ropes with few Cars Lift. I was there 😉
It actually looks like they put one of the line around the boom of the telehandler and rotated it by extending the boom. A few guys on ropes wouldn't of been able to make it move otherwise.
@@Whydoweneedhandles That makes sense! I didn't look that closely. But a few guys with ropes would get in trouble with even very slight wind grabbing an object with sides of 20x20m. The telehandler will keep it in place better, at least somewhat.
