Awesome video! The Chicago River is a great and very underrated fishery. I fished downtown today and caught eight different species including a giant walleye that I caught right underneath lakeshore drive. On the subject of urban waterways, any possibility of a calumet river/lake calumet video?
How the heck does the Chicago river have white bass, and not the Milwaukee river? At least to my knowledge. Didn't know they run in the river systems for the great lakes.
well two ways to go about boating. 1. Launch from a nearby harbor and then go through the locks into the river or 2. there is a boat launch near Western on the south branch (not exactly sure the address but its on southside) that you can pay to launch and then go up river. Just know its a no wake so the ride will take a little time.
I think you should include more shots from another camera angle in your videos. It gets a little redundant to keep watching that giant lowrance and you. I think it would be more interesting if your final edit had more shots from behind you. Nice fish!!
I think you just confirmed something for me....I used to fish the other side of the river and I would catch smallmouth and largemouth galore.....but when the city said that they would create cover for the fish after destroying the dolphin structures that protected the bridges from shipping and corners that they would reside,....I knew they were blowing smoke up the asses of the people who fish the river.....unless you did catch fish on the other side that wasn't fit to film.....

Mike Redoble well in this video I just didn't go onto the other side but I do fish it from shore on occasion and it all holds fish to be honest
I'll give it a try....haven't done it since they start the construction and blocked off access....
