Hi Jim. Just watching an amazing TH-cam Video on the Appalachians in West Virginia and the decline of Coal and how it has impacted the area. Fascinating. I now know what a "Holler" is. Hope all is well my friend. Really looking forward to your next video. Not Sure about the Cook Jim..and how they faired. Buxton is beautiful, as is the opera house, located in the Derbyshire Peak District, Came across this Story on Google, whilst doing research for another video..thought it had to be told. @@johnosgraveyardjaunts2235 West Virginia isn’t a bad area, better than some worse than others, my family is on the state website “pioneers of West Virginia” we were here way before there was a West Virginia, the coal industry is well, we’re a political pawn always have been controlled by the democrats for well over 85 years and although people here worked hard they were paid just enough to get by (barely) now that we (the state that is) are controlled by the republicans it’s gotten better, heck my oldest got a job in construction (he’s 19) he’s bringing home like $1500 a week (that’s is excellent in this area) so it’s getting better. It’s not a bad state and many do move here to retire, so when you retire come on over and find yourself a nice home in the hills 😀👍
