That first loop where it drops you face down, flips you around and drops you face down again is the most terrifying thing ever on any ride. Whoever designed this ride is a psychopath. 😅
I always explain to people what you wrote and they look at me funny. Because when you describe what this coaster does people can’t picture it.
But yea that first hill flip then on your stomach going backwards up the second hill, and when you near the top of the second hill your seat flips you the opposite direction the train is going at 80mph. That’s where I give this ride the bow of submission.
the designer of this ride also designed Twisted Colossus, so there's that.
Fully agree. Just went on this yesterday, first rollercoaster I’ve ever been on that was borderline unpleasant, questioning if I would do it again.

This ride is unbelievably awesome. Funny how crazy it is, and I still feel safer on it than most rides. The restraints are very reassuring on this ride.
Just went on this coaster yesterday for the first time. I’ve never felt genuine terror from a ride in my adult life like this! Exceptionally aggressive, but totally fun!

I used to have such a phobia of roller coasters. I started off with knotts to raise my tolerance before going to six flags. I went with a couple of friends and told me this “X2” ride wasn’t so bad. I went in believing exactly that, and it fucked me up so bad but in the best possible way. All of the “coasterphobia” I had left was officially dead. I feel like I could ride anything now 💀💀 lmaoo X2 really does that to you

There were points where I felt like I *had* fallen out.
Didn't feel like i was gonna fall out. It felt fun. Was definitely a little anxious before though.
That drop in those seats is the most intense on any roller coaster I’ve ever been on. You just feel it so hard lol
Easily the best coaster experience in all of California. That first drop is gut wrenching and the ride does a great job of keeping you just disoriented enough... then the fire!!! Too bad its not shown on this video, but its def worth a ride, even without all the extra theming and music. Theming and music is absolute icing on the cake when its operating all together!

i've ridden hundreds of roller coasters, i sky dive, ride a motorcycle, and i even worked at six flags when i was a kid, so i came into this ride with my usual nonchalant attitude, but x2 genuinely brought out a different type of feeling than i've ever felt with all my thrill seeking. absolutely loved this ride, especially at night.
Extremely intense doesn't even begin to describe it.
In 2008, I rode X2 in the evening shortly before the park closed just because the line was short. I jumped on it without any expectations, having never seen how it goes. It was so dark out that I could barely see any other attractions nearby, only lights on the ground. However, I could feel cool breeze wrapping my body as I ascended. The fact that I rode backwards and upside down and at night makes it 50% less scary. All I could see was the dark sky and it was hard to process which position I was in being upside down all over the place. I remember only the music or some sort of action sound that played in the seat and the flames coming out. I'm sure riding it during the day would make the experience day and night different (pun intended)

This was my intro to rollercoasters. I was the first in line, so I hadn't watched it take off... and I was nervous so I hopped on the back row thinking that meant I wouldn't have to see the danger coming as we went up the hill to fly down.
SO. Imagine my horror when we started going backwards. I was not prepared. 😐
I remember the first time I went on this, it was the back row around 11am, and I cried the whole way up. After me and my dad got off, I told him I wanted to go again.
That’s exactly how I was with Tastu!!!
Sadly I didn’t have time to ride X2 🥺 I’m definitely making it a priority next time!
I went on this in 2014 and it just popped back up in my feed and brought back the feels. No other ride fucks up like this one you can't breathe and it's just overwhelming. I''ll probably go on it again one day but it's not something you look forward to lol it's genuinely terrifying.

I used to love coasters. I grew up going to Cedar Point and riding some that were record holders at the time. Now I'm in my 40's and something has changed. I tried to ride a little kids roller coaster recently and I was nauseus and sick the entire ride. Not to mention anything that spins now. I'm glad I got to experience the ones I did when I was growing up. Part of me wishes I could ride something as cool as this without having a bad time. Enjoy your youth kiddies! Ride all the scary rides for me.

Yea I get terrible whiplash like effects from even mild roller coasters now in my late 30s whats odd is I am otherwise in amazing shape much better shape than I was when I used to ride these things with no problem.
I’ve ridden this once and that was in the front row, I honestly can not imagine riding in the back if it’s that intense in the front I’m gonna be unconscious in the back

Finally was able to return to California and rode the X2 again this last Friday August 6 and the video monitors, music and fire weren't working. But the ride is the best coaster I've experienced and it seemed even better this time around then three years ago

Fire and music worked for me Halloween season of 2019. I went this past Wednesday and neither were working.
Same I was there the 20th and no effects. But the experience was outta this world.

The music is part of the experience, they need to get that going ASAP

I rode this for the first time today and I was so terrified the entire ride. I was filled with dread when we slowly returned to the loading platform because I feared there was more to the ride.
Haha isn’t that the WORST on intense rollercoasters when you think it’s over thanking Jesus you made it out alive but then it just keeps going 😂😂

I went on this opening day @ 13 and the intensity traumatized me so much that I refused to go on it again. Any other coaster was fair game. But just. Not THAT one. The flip over to face the ground is what got me in particular. I was so small that I felt myself fall into the restraints. I’ll never forget how long it felt staring at the ground before that first drop. I swear the flipping seats were crazier back then. My friends laughed at how bored I looked in the picture because I was dissociating just trying to get through it. After months of building the courage I finally went on again last week and conquered my fear, had a great time, and now I feel like I can do anything! :)

I’ve a huge fan of rollercoasters but this coaster by far is the most terrifying one I’ve ever been on. Scared the crap out of me. The seats turn while you’re going down. I’m not riding it ever again because I’m too scared. Literally cried on this ride. Lol
I honestly feel bad for people who are terrified of rollercoasters or just this ride, X2 is just an amazing experience so much fun
It’s evil big brother is in Japan. First drop is about as high as Goliath and all it’s raven turns are bigger and it has even more elements with a longer ride…

I wish this coaster was a bit longer tbh... love the face first drop, and both Raven turns. Both flips at 1:50 and 2:03 feel amazing as well.
I wish it was longer too but I feel like many people would not be able to hang with much more !!!
The last raven turn is brutal on the calves.
I went on this ride right after it opened as X. My friend and I waited 4 1/2 hours to ride it. It was sooo worth it. When they closed it, and reopened as X2, it was even better !!
It's sad that Arrow Dynamics went bankrupt building this ride, but they went out with a bang !! Such a innovative concept. X2 is still the only 4x dimensional ride in North America. I believe there are only 4 in the whole world. Awesome ride !!!

I don't know how many roller coasters I've ridden in the last 20 years (it's a lot) but this was the only one to ever scare the hell out of me
I will forever regret asking the ride operator to adjust my chest harness thingy on this ride, it was smashing my titties. They loosened it and I slid around in my seat the whole ride. 💀
I've been to Cedar Point and MM and X2 is the BEST coaster I've ever been on. It's a little short, but the ride makes up for it. Best 1st drop is Millennium Force. Going over that crest never gets old.
Top 5 "Oh crap what have I gotten into" moments on roller coasters:
5) Skyrush on the lift hill
4) Fury 325 drop
3) Top hat descent on TTD/KDK
2) Rollback on TTD/KDK
1) X2 First Drop
Lately it's been a little jerky and it hits the back of the calves a little hard, or maybe it's just me.
A friend of mine who goes on roller coasters and loves them, actually had a panic attack AFTER she got off this. She tried to hide it and did NOT do it for attention (she hates attention). I just want to warn people who might be prone to panic attacks…..and she wasnt prone to them. It was the first time i had seen her have one, and at the time, i had known her for 5/6 years.
She hasn’t been on it since but will wait in line with us and watch us on it with a HUGE smile on her face. She’s such a great person. She wont let us miss what we love because she is so scared of it. And she laughs at us and takes pictures.
Only item I ever lost on a ride was on this one. Of course it was my phone. It was inside a buttoned pants pocket and still shook it loose. It went to join the graveyard of items that now rest below the coaster.
This is why I empty my pockets before getting on any coaster that has loops and twists.
I'd thought there weren't any coasters left that would give me a thrill after being used to going to Cedar Point and Kings Island frequently every year, but this one looks like it's worth a trip to California.

I’ve been to magic mountain a lot growing up in Cali I was finally able to get on x2 every single time the line was long, today was empty and almost every ride was about a 5 minute wait and this was our first ride and I can say I don’t think I’ll ever get on x2 again fk no this was way to intense for me that first drop almost made me faint 😂 nope if you can get on x2 every other ride at six flags including Superman which used to scare me before is nothing even Goliath they are all cake compared to x2 imo

Make sure you ride in an "inside seat" (seat closest to the track). You will have a MUCH smoother and enjoyable ride. Outside seats are very rough.

i rode this today. my first roller coaster at 6 flags and my first time there. we usually go to disney. i couldn’t even fit into the restraints so i was sliding around with my eyes closed screaming. the first time i felt genuine terror. viper, goliath, tatsu, riddler, apocalypse, superman, and revolution were absolutely nothing after this. this was terrifying as hell, laying down going in reverse. i opened my eyes once and i was above the whole freeway and parking lot. the photo that came back was goofy as hell. if you are scared of roller coasters and want to overcome your fear, this will terrify the shit out of you and you won’t be afraid of any other ones lmao
I just went on this last week, I rode 3 times. The first ride was the scariest, then 2nd and 3rd felt just ok. It's near the entrance of the park, so if you take this first, the rest of the rides would feel easy. The best part of this ride is that the seat also rotates, so imagine plunging down with your head pointing down and legs pointing to the sky. But the last few twists of the ride were very bumpy, my knees were painful from bumping to the seat. This X2 is so scary that the line up is short, maybe not many people dare to take it.
Another must go ride in this park is the twisted colloseus. But the line up is disneyline.
Made that mistake myself, we took it first because it was just right at the entrance... Rest of the rides are great but felt like I could just read a book or talk about the weather.
All the giant hypercoasters, all the 10-inversion beasts and I still have never been on a coaster as good or as an intense as this. This is the only rollercoaster that's made me feel genuine fear in my adult life lol

On our first trip to Six Flags me and my friends naively decided to ride X2 first since it was so close to the entrance. I screamed louder on that thing than I ever have or had in my life. Now I can go on any roller coasters with ease! This ride changes you, lol

Got on this again for the 30th time in my life riding it and it still scares me but it’s a gray scare of a a ride the adrenaline is crazy it’s almost like you don’t get a chance to be scared cause so much is going on. If you can get through this you can get through any ride…my 8 year old road jt today as well as all the other coaster for the first time in his life going and I was shocked to see him handle x2 so well…he had me emotional all day because I was so proud of him at 8 handling all the coasters
I was wearing a pair of swimming trunks and shirtless when I first rode this. Those trunks exposed Everything. This ride is insane but make sure you don't have any loose objects etc.
I would have just given up on life halfway up.

I rode this ride at about 7:40 pm right before the park closed. It was super dark which made the experience way scarier. The first part where u get lifted up backwards was super scary and facing down to the ground made you feel like you were about to fall down hundreds of feet. TOTALLY RECOMMEND HAHA!
This roller coaster ride was quite the thrill! After the initial flip or drop, I found myself closing my eyes until the end of the ride to avoid fainting. 😂

2:08 Don’t worry, the flamethrowers can’t burn you. They’re timed to go off a few seconds after the vehicle passes by a sensor so no one can get hurt. But they are actual flames and if you’re in the back you can feel the heat!
I just rid it in the very back, it was dope! I also vaguely remember being able to feel it in the front rows too

operators only care if there is a not so small possibility of you letting go and hitting someone.
