That first loop where it drops you face down, flips you around and drops you face down again is the most terrifying thing ever on any ride. Whoever designed this ride is a psychopath. 😅
I always explain to people what you wrote and they look at me funny. Because when you describe what this coaster does people can’t picture it. But yea that first hill flip then on your stomach going backwards up the second hill, and when you near the top of the second hill your seat flips you the opposite direction the train is going at 80mph. That’s where I give this ride the bow of submission.

I used to have such a phobia of roller coasters. I started off with knotts to raise my tolerance before going to six flags. I went with a couple of friends and told me this “X2” ride wasn’t so bad. Can’t imagine how bad X2 is if it’s worse then Tatsu like everyone says😂 I cried on Tatsu but I love being completely terrified and frozen like that! This ride destroyed my fear of spinning on roller coasters. As intense and terrifying this ride could be, the adrenaline you get from it makes you want to ride it again
Easily the best coaster experience in all of California. That first drop is gut wrenching and the ride does a great job of keeping you just disoriented enough... then the fire!!! Too bad its not shown on this video, but its def worth a ride, even without all the extra theming and music. Theming and music is absolute icing on the cake when its operating all together!

This was my intro to rollercoasters. I was the first in line, so I hadn't watched it take off... and I was nervous so I hopped on the back row thinking that meant I wouldn't have to see the danger coming as we went up the hill to fly down. SO. Imagine my horror when we started going backwards. I was not prepared. 😐
In 2008, I rode X2 in the evening shortly before the park closed just because the line was short. I jumped on it without any expectations, having never seen how it goes. It was so dark out that I could barely see any other attractions nearby, only lights on the ground. However, I could feel cool breeze wrapping my body as I ascended. The fact that I rode backwards and upside down and at night makes it 50% less scary. All I could see was the dark sky and it was hard to process which position I was in being upside down all over the place. I remember only the music or some sort of action sound that played in the seat and the flames coming out. I'm sure riding it during the day would make the experience day and night different (pun intended)

I used to love coasters. I grew up going to Cedar Point and riding some that were record holders at the time. Now I'm in my 40's and something has changed. I tried to ride a little kids roller coaster recently and I was nauseus and sick the entire ride. Not to mention anything that spins now. I'm glad I got to experience the ones I did when I was growing up. Part of me wishes I could ride something as cool as this without having a bad time. Enjoy your youth kiddies! Ride all the scary rides for me.
Yea I get terrible whiplash like effects from even mild roller coasters now in my late 30s whats odd is I am otherwise in amazing shape much better shape than I was when I used to ride these things with no problem.

I went on this opening day @ 13 and the intensity traumatized me so much that I refused to go on it again. Any other coaster was fair game. But just. Not THAT one. The flip over to face the ground is what got me in particular. I was so small that I felt myself fall into the restraints. I’ll never forget how long it felt staring at the ground before that first drop. I swear the flipping seats were crazier back then. My friends laughed at how bored I looked in the picture because I was dissociating just trying to get through it. After months of building the courage I finally went on again last week and conquered my fear, had a great time, and now I feel like I can do anything! :)

Finally was able to return to California and rode the X2 again this last Friday August 6 and the video monitors, music and fire weren't working. But the ride is the best coaster I've experienced and it seemed even better this time around then three years ago

I went on this in 2014 and it just popped back up in my feed and brought back the feels. No other ride fucks up like this one you can't breathe and it's just overwhelming. I''ll probably go on it again one day but it's not something you look forward to lol it's genuinely terrifying.
I rode this for the first time today and I was so terrified the entire ride. I was filled with dread when we slowly returned to the loading platform because I feared there was more to the ride.
I've been to Cedar Point and X2 is the BEST coaster I've ever been on. It's a little short, but the ride makes up for it. Best 1st drop is Millennium Force. Going over that first crest never gets old.

A friend of mine who goes on roller coasters and loves them, actually had a panic attack AFTER she got off this. She tried to hide it and did NOT do it for attention (she hates attention). I just want to warn people who might be prone to panic attacks…..and she wasnt prone to them. It was the first time i had seen her have one, and at the time, i had known her for 5/6 years. She hasn’t been on it since but will wait in line with us and watch us on it with a HUGE smile on her face. She’s such a great person. She wont let us miss what we love because she is so scared of it. And she laughs at us and takes pictures.
X2 is amazing, definitely my favorite ride at six flags . That first drop is insane and the flames shooting at your face puts the cherry on top . Highly recommend this one
I wish it was longer too but I feel like many people would not be able to hang with much more !!! The last raven turn is brutal on the calves. I went on this ride right after it opened as X. My friend and I waited 4 1/2 hours to ride it. It was sooo worth it. When they closed it, and reopened as X2, it was even better !! It's sad that Arrow Dynamics went bankrupt building this ride, but they went out with a bang !! Such a innovative concept. X2 is still the only 4x dimensional ride in North America. I believe there are only 4 in the whole world. Awesome ride !!!
i rode this today. my first roller coaster at 6 flags and my first time there. we usually go to disney. i couldn’t even fit into the restraints so i was sliding around with my eyes closed screaming. the first time i felt genuine terror. viper, goliath, tatsu, riddler, apocalypse, superman, and revolution were absolutely nothing after this. this was terrifying as hell, laying down going in reverse. i opened my eyes once and i was above the whole freeway and parking lot. the photo that came back was goofy as hell. if you are scared of roller coasters and want to overcome your fear, this will terrify the shit out of you and you won’t be afraid of any other ones lmao
I'd thought there weren't any coasters left that would give me a thrill after being used to going to Cedar Point and Kings Island frequently every year, but this one looks like it's worth a trip to California.
It’s evil big brother is in Japan. First drop is about as high as Goliath and all it’s raven turns are bigger and it has even more elements with a longer ride…
I rode this ride at about 7:40 pm right before the park closed. It was super dark which made the experience way scarier. The first part where u get lifted up backwards was super scary and facing down to the ground made you feel like you were about to fall down hundreds of feet. TOTALLY RECOMMEND HAHA!

I’ve been to so many amusement parks, I’ve road numerous rollercoasters and never once have I ever felt the way X2 made me feel. It’s the best roller coaster experience ever, but it’s also the scariest, but scary in a good way! What a rush!
On our first trip to Six Flags me and my friends naively decided to ride X2 first since it was so close to the entrance. I screamed louder on that thing than I ever have or had in my life. Now I can go on any roller coasters with ease! This ride changes you, lol
All the giant hypercoasters, all the 10-inversion beasts and I still have never been on a coaster as good or as an intense as this. This is the only rollercoaster that's made me feel genuine fear in my adult life lol
I just got home from SixFlags and I had to revive my experience watching this video. 😅😅 Out of all the rides there, this is the scariest!!! 😮 I loved the adrenaline and fear ❤
My favorite coaster anywhere. There are actually two tracks that it rides on. The first being the main track and the second track that controls the rotation of the cars. Genius design and the most extreme ride experience in existence.
I just went on this last week, I rode 3 times. The first ride was the scariest, then 2nd and 3rd felt just ok. It's near the entrance of the park, so if you take this first, the rest of the rides would feel easy. The best part of this ride is that the seat also rotates, so imagine plunging down with your head pointing down and legs pointing to the sky. But the last few twists of the ride were very bumpy, my knees were painful from bumping to the seat. This X2 is so scary that the line up is short, maybe not many people dare to take it. Another must go ride in this park is the twisted colloseus. But the line up is disneyline.
Made that mistake myself, we took it first because it was just right at the entrance... Rest of the rides are great but felt like I could just read a book or talk about the weather.
What in the upside down flip it and reverse it hell is this roller coaster? 😂 Omg! Never heard of it or seen one like this but I want to ride it! Craziest part of this all is I work at six flags! 😂 (chicago)
Only item I ever lost on a ride was on this one. Of course it was my phone. It was inside a buttoned pants pocket and still shook it loose. It went to join the graveyard of items that now rest below the coaster.
It's actually so genius that the first lift hill is backwards and before the drop the seats tilt upwards. Makes it so even if you're in the back, you have no idea when that first drop is gonna happen. Craziest rollercoaster ever made.
This is the only coaster in America better than the Millennium Force at Cedar Point. The wild forces on your body are inexplicable on the hill just before the flames with the hill, inversion and rotation all at once. Terrific experience.
Got on this again for the 30th time in my life riding it and it still scares me but it’s a gray scare of a a ride the adrenaline is crazy it’s almost like you don’t get a chance to be scared cause so much is going on. If you can get through this you can get through any ride…my 8 year old road jt today as well as all the other coaster for the first time in his life going and I was shocked to see him handle x2 so well…he had me emotional all day because I was so proud of him at 8 handling all the coasters
went on this 4x yesterday. Back is a little more intense with the g forces but the front is wild going straight down that first drop. I recommend trying to do both
This roller coaster ride was quite the thrill! After the initial flip or drop, I found myself closing my eyes until the end of the ride to avoid fainting. 😂
As a Coaster enthusiast, I don't EVER back out of rides. I'm not scared of any roller coaster! Even from the age of 8, I was never afraid. This was the ONLY RIDE I EVER chickened out on when I was 11! I regretted it everyday until I finally got the chance to ride it again a year later. BYFAR THE SINGLE MOST INSANE ROLLER COASTER I'VE RODE IN ALL MY YEARS of riding hundreds of rides!

Umm....... WOW? WTH? Intense doesn't begin to define this ride. The quick direction turns, the spinning, the speed, and what has to be a feeling of what direction are we? Wait, what the heck? That confusion of direction and not knowing what's potentially coming has to be unnerving for some. I'd love to try it once. Just the uniqueness of it makes it something special and probably terrifying.

Got my daughter to ride this thing for the first time. She’s 11 and we rode in the back row. Just 2 years ago she conquered the incredible coaster as her first big girl ride. Can’t believe how brave she is at such a young age. Proud papa ❤

OK so I live in the east coast and I've been on an s&s freespin, is the sensation similar or completely different. One day I'll get to magic mt.
There were points where I felt like I *had* fallen out.

Fire and music worked for me Halloween season of 2019. I went this past Wednesday and neither were working.
Same I was there the 20th and no effects. But the experience was outta this world.

i rode this today. my first roller coaster at 6 flags and my first time there. we usually go to disney. i couldn’t even fit into the restraints so i was sliding around with my eyes closed screaming. the first time i felt genuine terror. viper, goliath, tatsu, riddler, apocalypse, superman, and revolution were absolutely nothing after this. this was terrifying as hell, laying down going in reverse. i opened my eyes once and i was above the whole freeway and parking lot. the photo that came back was goofy as hell. if you are scared of roller coasters and want to overcome your fear, this will terrify the shit out of you and you won’t be afraid of any other ones lmao
I’ve been to a lot of theme parks around the world but this ride is by far the best experience I ever had on a rollercoaster

I'd thought there weren't any coasters left that would give me a thrill after being used to going to Cedar Point and Kings Island frequently every year, but this one looks like it's worth a trip to California.

It’s evil big brother is in Japan. First drop is about as high as Goliath and all it’s raven turns are bigger and it has even more elements with a longer ride…
I rode this ride at about 7:40 pm right before the park closed. It was super dark which made the experience way scarier. The first part where u get lifted up backwards was super scary and facing down to the ground made you feel like you were about to fall down hundreds of feet. TOTALLY RECOMMEND HAHA!

I've never gotten physically ill on a roller coaster until I rode this one. That first drop is not for the weak.
This is by far the most intriguing and fun rollercoaster I have been on. Too cool.
I’ve been to so many amusement parks, I’ve road numerous rollercoasters and never once have I ever felt the way X2 made me feel. It’s the best roller coaster experience ever, but it’s also the scariest, but scary in a good way! What a rush!
As much as I love roller coasters, I don’t think I’ll be doing this one…EVER. 😂

On our first trip to Six Flags me and my friends naively decided to ride X2 first since it was so close to the entrance. I screamed louder on that thing than I ever have or had in my life. Now I can go on any roller coasters with ease! This ride changes you, lol
All the giant hypercoasters, all the 10-inversion beasts and I still have never been on a coaster as good or as an intense as this. This is the only rollercoaster that's made me feel genuine fear in my adult life lol

My favorite coaster anywhere. There are actually two tracks that it rides on. The first being the main track and the second track that controls the rotation of the cars. Genius design and the most extreme ride experience in existence.
The X2 was the most fun I’ve ever had on a roller coaster by far.
I just went on this last week, I rode 3 times. The first ride was the scariest, then 2nd and 3rd felt just ok. It's near the entrance of the park, so if you take this first, the rest of the rides would feel easy. The best part of this ride is that the seat also rotates, so imagine plunging down with your head pointing down and legs pointing to the sky. But the last few twists of the ride were very bumpy, my knees were painful from bumping to the seat. This X2 is so scary that the line up is short, maybe not many people dare to take it.
Another must go ride in this park is the twisted colloseus. But the line up is disneyline.
Made that mistake myself, we took it first because it was just right at the entrance... Rest of the rides are great but felt like I could just read a book or talk about the weather.
What in the upside down flip it and reverse it hell is this roller coaster? 😂 Omg! Never heard of it or seen one like this but I want to ride it! Craziest part of this all is I work at six flags! 😂 (chicago)

Only item I ever lost on a ride was on this one. Of course it was my phone. It was inside a buttoned pants pocket and still shook it loose. It went to join the graveyard of items that now rest below the coaster.
This is why I empty my pockets before getting on any coaster that has loops and twists.

It's actually so genius that the first lift hill is backwards and before the drop the seats tilt upwards. Makes it so even if you're in the back, you have no idea when that first drop is gonna happen. Craziest rollercoaster ever made.
This is the only coaster in America better than the Millennium Force at Cedar Point. The wild forces on your body are inexplicable on the hill just before the flames with the hill, inversion and rotation all at once. Terrific experience.

Got on this again for the 30th time in my life riding it and it still scares me but it’s a gray scare of a a ride the adrenaline is crazy it’s almost like you don’t get a chance to be scared cause so much is going on. If you can get through this you can get through any ride…my 8 year old road jt today as well as all the other coaster for the first time in his life going and I was shocked to see him handle x2 so well…he had me emotional all day because I was so proud of him at 8 handling all the coasters
went on this 4x yesterday. Back is a little more intense with the g forces but the front is wild going straight down that first drop. I recommend trying to do both

As a Coaster enthusiast, I don't EVER back out of rides. I'm not scared of any roller coaster! Even from the age of 8, I was never afraid. This was the ONLY RIDE I EVER chickened out on when I was 11! I regretted it everyday until I finally got the chance to ride it again a year later. BYFAR THE SINGLE MOST INSANE ROLLER COASTER I'VE RODE IN ALL MY YEARS of riding hundreds of rides!

Umm....... WOW? WTH? Intense doesn't begin to define this ride. The quick direction turns, the spinning, the speed, and what has to be a feeling of what direction are we? Wait, what the heck? That confusion of direction and not knowing what's potentially coming has to be unnerving for some. I'd love to try it once. Just the uniqueness of it makes it something special and probably terrifying.
My immediate thought after watching this... "Wtf ? There were flames?" Roflmao (never saw em cuz my eyes were tightly shut whole ride after first 10 seconds)

Got my daughter to ride this thing for the first time. She’s 11 and we rode in the back row. Just 2 years ago she conquered the incredible coaster as her first big girl ride. Can’t believe how brave she is at such a young age. Proud papa ❤
