I still don't understand how much I'm supposed to jump to gain a medium height, I need to know how to bounce and not have a full jump when I hold jump. If I don't hold anything it just does a little bounce but if I press it for even a tenth of a second it gives me a full jump!
Literally stuck on a level on sweet world and I have to give up now because I've been trying the same section for 2 hours, I'm learning nothing and the internet is not helpful. You are the most helpful thing so far. If anyone can comment and tell me how to do a medium jump when bouncing I will subscribe to you.

Yeah, it's something that unfortunately takes time to get the "feel" for it. It's a lot of quickly letting go of the jump button, and then reholding it again. Essentially get to about the height you'd want to be at, and the quickly let go and then repress again, depending on if you need the regrab for the slow fall (which is VERY often in kaizo). Hard to explain through a text message like this.
I'd say start with just practicing controlled jumps normally, from jumping off of the ground. Try getting to different heights you want that way first. Then find a place you can do a bounce off of something over and over again, and practice the same thing off of the bounce.
