Contribution to Provident Fund under social security code 2020: Employer: Liable to contribute 10% of the wages payable to each employee to the provident fund. Employee: Liable to contribute equal to the contribution payable by the employer i.e. 10% of the wages in respect of each employee to the provident fund. The employee may contribute more than 10% of the wages to the provident fund subject to the condition that the employer is not obligated to pay any amount over and above 10% of the wages payable by employer. The Central Government can apply the rate of 12% of the wages payable to each employee as contribution towards the provident fund for any establishment or class of establishment.
So, in previous acts employers and employees are required to contribute @12% of basic wages on a monthly basis. The Code reduces the rate to 10%, provided that CG may notify establishments who will have to contribute @12%. I hope this is helpful Regards.
Dear student, Bonus payable under the Act is linked with profits. The employer has to calculate "gross profits" of his establishment. Then, from "gross profits" so calculated he has to deduct the sums. The balance is called "available surplus". A percentage of the available surplus calculated in accordance with the provisions is called "allocable surplus." Allocable Surplus: Means 67 % of the available surplus in an accounting year, in relation to an employer, being a Company, other than a banking company. In any other case, the allocable surplus means 60% of such available Regards.

Mam in case of advisory committee minimum members should be 10 men and women both being equal, but what would happen if the organization doesn't have capable men/women to sit in the committee ? So can they change the number of men n women in the committee?
No not all.. as this act is all about equality.. they wont change the number.. only seats may remain vacant in such cases.. but number will be on equally divided only.
Dear student, When salary is 50k, it means that this act will not be applicable. As here ceiling limit is only 21,000 max for salary. The employee here must have got bonus under other rules & regulations of that particular establishment. Hope this is clear. Regards
@akanksha8916 Good afternoon Mam, According to Bonus Act, if the salaries of employees are Rs. 20,000/- and 25,000/- respectively. The employer is calculating bonus as follows:- (i) Employee salary of Rs. 20,000/- Bonus = 20,000/- x 8.33% = Rs. 1,666/- (ii) Employee salary of Rs. 25,000/- Bonus = 21,000 x 8.33% = Rs. 1,749/- Are the above calculation of bonus done by the employer is correct or not as per the Bonus Act? Please clear this doubt.
