Christmas Eve at First English Lutheran 5 pm family-friendly worship. Christ is born!!

The 5 pm Christmas Eve worship (December 24, 2024) is based on Luke 2:1-20. The Rev. Sandra Carlson Alexis preached and officiated. The reader was Patti Stude; the deacon was Lara Alexis; the communion helper was Anna T.; the crucifer was Tim Smith; the usher was John Rolker. The Psalm was Psalm 96:6-13. The songs included “O, Come, All Ye Faithful,” “Go Tell It on the Mountain” with Zoe Bassett and Tim Smith on trumpet, “Silent Night” with Paul Christensen on guitar, “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing” with Zoe Bassett and Tim Smith on trumpet. The prelude was “A Joyful Peal (Michael Bedford), “Infant Holy, Infant Lowly” (Polish carol), “Greensleeves” -- performed by the First English Handbell Choir. Communion Music included “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” by Ryan Bassett on piano, “Jesus Christ the Apple Tree” and “The Holly and the Ivy” by Laurel Bassett and Zoe Bassett on handbells. The postlude was “Welcome, Christmas (Fa Who Doraze)” (Albert Hague, Theodore S. Geisel) by Norah Worthington, Chris Bassett, Laurel Bassett, Zoe Bassett, and Joann Moorer. Music is led by our Organist/Choirmaster Minister of Music Joann Moorer with our First English Handbell Choir which includes Laurel Bassett, Zoe Bassett, Ryan Bassett, Paul Christensen, Dorothy Stalberg, Teal Anderson, Anna Treskon, and Patti Stude.
