This game is like my guilty pleasure at the moment. I fully realize it is a P2W mobile-focused game but damn I enjoy it. It's like POE-lite, the leveling is super fast, I enjoy how simple most of the builds are. And I've actually come to really enjoy playing with a controller on my phone too. I even got one of those backbone things because of it. Lots of fun having a game I can play anywhere as someone who never really got into "mobile gaming" before picking this up.
Crafting on an item in this game never changes its level requirement, so you can grab ilvl 80+ rings that have a level 1 requirement and craft them to be leveling rings with juiced mods.
Its actually fun, it has DAMAGE NUMBERS (fuck you poe) and auction house (fuck you poe) AND pretty characters. The downsides are the extreme p2w shit and singleplayer

Cool that you try out Torchlight, really great game that keeps getting better for each season. The Pet systemet is pretty much part of making a build, the pets gives the passives different features based on the pet you equip, for instance more crit, dmg, spell dmg, health etc.
Yeah, there's a lot of obscure terminology in this game too, at least they just updated the Help section in the menu this season to be better translated and easier to navigate. I think most of the niche scenarios (like what effects apply to DoT damage, or the unique way Ignite and Wilt work, or the nuances of multistrike and spellburst, or the differences between projectile skill types like you said) are pretty well laid out in the new Help section.
This games great in terms of mechanics, but theres no coverage for it in terms of builds compared to bigger arpgs. It's always good to see vids like this.
The free autoloot you get after a little bit of playing helps a lot, so make sure to claim it and activate it for your following pactspirit (I kinda wish it also picked Flame Sand Stacks, but it's not THAT bad looting them since they usually drop 5x-20x at a time once you get into the end game where you need hundreds of them), seasonal pass is kinda like PoE stash tabs for this game, the advanced autoloot helps, but isn't necessary for most players, especially new players trying it out. The account reward cosmetics and accelerated new character unlocks are neat, but also basically just bonus content, there are always decent builds for the f2p characters and you can unlock an unlock-able character for free if you play enough in a season or two if you really want to play a specific one (newest character classes cost money for the season they release in, but unlock-able next season with the f2p earn-able hero tokens), and even if you want the convenience you only need to spend like 15$ a season roughly if you want the pass (which honestly isn't that bad, basically a subscription service for if you decide you like a season with the free version, and inventory space can be earned through f2p rewards) so with about 3 seasons a year so far it's a comfy 45 a year, which is less than buying most new games and pretty competitive for live service content (PoE still clears everyone obviously, but not everyone can be GGG). There are small advantages to getting an optimal spiritualist loadout for your build, but just daily logins will fill out your free pact spirits after a bit and those are fairly serviceable unless you REALLY want a specific effect from one of the legendary ones (maybe a 5-10% difference for an optimized build, which is already going to be 1,000% better than a noob build, regardless of who paid more).
Decent build diversity, great item meta progression, above average end-game. Nowhere near the replayability and depth of something like PoE (yet?), but still very fun. Pretty easy to get in to if you have a solid understanding of general arpg mechanics and pretty quick to dip your toes into the endgame if you want to try it out for yourself
Well, if you want to unlock new characters there's like 17 unique classes, most of them VERY unique, even compared to the other versions of the same character. The endgame is long and good, every season they add a new content, often with it's own mini-passive-tree, to earn rewards and the deckbuilder lets you customize your content "atlas-tree" style. It's also pretty fun to just blast a few maps even if you don't have time for a big push for an end-game boss or challenge (like path of the brave progress or timemark-8 bosses and league content bosses, there are also events that run that can involve challenging some more unique bosses), all told if you find a character you like you could easily put hundreds of hours into optimizing them and clearing end game content even in just one season, and there are new seasons about 3 times a year so far, with each one adding a lot to the game similar to good PoE seasons. It's still only on it's like 5th season, so there's a lot of potential for new active skills and content to be added. There is sadly no co-op, all multiplayer is just trade and chat and leader-boards so far, but it is also neat to be able to see in-client what other people are playing and having success with. Like PoE-ninja but as official leaderboards, and you can filter them based on skills or classes, so even if one class or build is over-performing in a season you can still try to be the best in your niche!
Welcome empy to my favorite casual ARPG! Don't worry, it gets zoomy AF, there's a reason you are only halfway done leveling (actually like 1/100th, this game also has very slow last few levels) when you get to maps and it's because your character and the content is only halfway done evolving! Higher timemark boss get NUTTY and good optimized builds will be blasting through maps in 1 minute or less! It's a great way to just blast out some loot and content in however much time you have!
Well i downloaded the game, installed it and click played. Turns out there are no South American servers. Thus came a brief but predictable end to my Torchlight gameplay in all seriousness how do you not have SA servers, the community here is massive
pretty good imho, i havnt played last epoch yet so that could be second place but currently torchlight is second place for me, definitely better than all the other garbage like d4 and wolcen though. generally speaking if you like poe, youl probably enjoy torchlight, since its mostly just copying the game mechanics from poe and then changing up the endgame.
It’s a pretty fun poe lite kinda game. You have to spend money to play some of the more fun characters but its pretty enjoyable especially considering it runs fine on a phone.
@@XSnakeguyX something to keep in mind, every season as part of the free tier of the battle pass youl get some hero tokens, so over time youl eventually be able to play every class for free, but yeah you need to pay if you want to get the new shinies right now.
it's a fun game if you can keep progress on mobile and pc. runs at 144fps on pc which feels nice, content is good but there's some mechanics to make you spend $ for sure
as mentioned also by someone here, last epoch is very good and has deep mecahnics too, but especially for casuals like me, it offers a lot of depth but much better QoL features than PoE (custom deep filters ingame, autolooting of small stuff, easy and fun crafting system, etc)

I don't have RMT buddies, everyone I play with has a job that way outpaces anything we could possbily make RMTing and risking accounts with thousands of dollars in MTX. Glad you enjoyed!

That split/fork passive trait only works for parabolic projectiles, and you were using a horizontal projectile.

It’s really a good game boys. LOGIN. Doesn’t get enough coverage for being a mobile ARPG. Played over 400 hours and it’s still so very addictive.
The midgame filter is best used around TM6 when T1 affixes actually begin dropping.
Also, Parabolic Projectiles are ones that are lobbed, rather than shot. You want Projectile Splits +1 instead.
