    I'm always envious of folks who have machines with a HUGE space for their hands when doing FMQ. My largest space is 8" and that's on my treadle. LOL

    I loaded the panel this morning and started working on it this afternoon. My first ever ruler work and it made the free motion so much easier and pretty. I am a new Amara owner. Your video is great. I can hardly wait to get back and try some of that filler! Thank you so much for what you do!

    Angela, I imagine you used fusible batting for your sewing machine example? As you've said, you use ONE-SIDED fusible, so say it fuses to the backing. What do you use to fuse the non-fusible side of the batting to the top? Spray, pins???? Thanks! Can't wait to get started.

    I'm new to FMQ, I'm attempting to quilt the mandala quilt. I just started on the very 1st part using yellow around the greenish arcs, purple is my back fabric and I used purple thread in my bobbin I can see it with the yellow on top, should I have yellow in the bobbin too?

    I have tried many times to learn how to free motion quilt but just can't make it work. I lower the tension on the presser foot, lower the feed dogs, new needle, use quilting gloves. What do you think I am doing wrong or is there something else I need to do???? I hope you have some suggestions for me because this is something I really want to do and you make it look so effortless. Thanks for any ideas.

    What is “tie off”?

    • @AngelaWaltersfmq
      @AngelaWaltersfmq  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oops, guess I should have clarified that! Tie off means to end a line of quilting, then move to a new spot and start a new line of quilting. Hope that makes sense!

    • @lms2379
      @lms2379 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AngelaWaltersfmq thank you-do I need to have my needle go up and then down to form a knot as a means to tie off?

    • @lexitejeda6209
      @lexitejeda6209 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can backstitch or do some small stitches to hold it, but a cleaner way is to leave adequate length tails of thread and knot and bury them using a hand stitch needle.
