in your video, the audio device acts as master, so doesn't need a WC to it. What in the case one of the lockits is the master and also the audio device TC is slaved? Does it need WC as camera needs GL? What if the device does not have an ext WC input such on a 633 or F8? If an audio devise has both TC in and WC in, are both required to be connected from the lockit?
How do you convert TC recorded on the audio channel on DSLRs and Mirrorless cameras, to "proper" TC that is recognised by NLEs such as FCPX? I know only Tentacle Sync Studio. Are there any others???
Yes there are/is: Videotoolshed's LTC Convert ist priced similar and does a few nifty tricks as it actually doesn'T work on xml but outputs timecode video files. Depending on the workflow either might be the more preferrable choice - and then there is Apples own plug-in. We are working on tutorials covering this process currently, so stay stay tuned!
All cameras now accept 1080p (most) or 1080i/PsF (e.g. Sony) at the project rate as sync reference regardless of the reording resolution. So you're fine with 4, 6, and 8K.
Very clear and very useful video. Please keep up the good effort in educating people.
Thank you sir for your packaged information

So does the lockit works as a genlock as well? or just as timecode generator?
The Lockit itself works as genlock as well. The NanoLockit is "only" a timecode generator. Best Regards

Can you point me to the Apple plug-in? Thanks
It's called Sync-N-Link X itunes.apple.com/us/app/sync-n-link-x/id517599985?mt=12, just found it's not Aplle native, but anyway....
Outstanding video.
Thanks Nicholas
So I guess no genlock at 4k UHD?
