Baby, the 80s were such a blast! I saw Queensryche SEVERAL times live. They always sounded this good live. The clothes we wore were so AWESOME and fun. I had a black denim mini dress with zippers EVERYWHERE, of course with matching high heels. They were fun times, concert tickets were like 20.00 for decent seats! Glad to see you younger dudes checking out our music. Thank you.

I fucking envy you... I've been to HUNDREDS of concerts, but I would trade 20 or 30 of them just to see the original Queensryche ONCE.
One of my all time favorite bands and I never got the chance to see them live.

@@sidetrakd38 They were AMAZING! The Operation Mindcrime tour with Pamela Moore as Sister Mary was beyond cool.
Chris DeGarmo's live voice was equally as amazing as Geoff's. I was fortunate to see all the bands I saw in the 70s, 80s, & 90s.

@@chueysmama2622 The moment DeGarmo left the band it spelled the end... The most creative member of the band by far!
His songwriting was unmatched, and his backing vocals were most often even higher pitched than Geoff's... a singer in his own right.
The band still made some good songs after Chris left, but they were never on par with him in the band.
A great loss to the music world when he decided to retire.

All the rock bands went to Japan in the seventies and eighties. Even the smallest bands got treated like the Beatles over there. Many bands did live albums over there too. Some of the biggest were Made in Japan by Deep Purple, Unleashed in the East by Judas Priest and Maiden Japan, a play on words, by Iron Maiden.

These guys have been one of my favorite bands for like 30 years. They have always been pretty great. Had a following around the 88-94 range. At least in my circle of friends at the time. The lead singer was Geoff Tate. He has like some amazing vocal range of like 6 octaves or something. Some stuff like the whole rock opera album "Operation: Mindcrime", (which is great btw) has a lot of really good songs like "I don't believe in love" and "Eyes of a Stranger" to name a couple. I HIGHLY recommend the song "Silent Lucidity" off the Empire album. It's one of those really amazing songs with a really positive message and a melody that you'll remember forever. Anyways, Love your reviews. Thanks for doing them and keep 'em coming.

Queensryche is actually a Seattle band and the lead singer (Geoff Tate) was classically trained hence his pipes. They have a lot of really good music but this song was their break out song that got them notices and pushed into the mainstream rock. Probably their most famous and notable album was the album Operation Mindcrime. I correlate that album to a sort of story line about corruption in the church drugs and prostitution.. you cannot select a specific song off that album and just play it because you will lose content to it. But if you ever get a chance; listen to it start to finish. It's really an amazing piece of work! Glad to see you checking out the "'Ryche" 🙌

Rob: you stated in your commentary that you’d never heard of this band before.
Let me say this….and it’s not to be confrontational or arrogant
You all today are clueless when it comes to music. The talent and sounds coming from virtuosos and savants of musicians from the 70 and 80’s has gone unrecognized and under appreciated because it was overshadowed by garbage top 40 hits played to death on the radio It was therefore never given the respect it was due
Thank you for helping keep it alive but there is so much for you to explore that you wouldn’t ever need to listen to anything else. Keep digging and you’ll see that most stuff popular today is a rip off of these forgotten masters of their craft

THESE are the kind of reaction videos I've been looking for - not only are you wildly entertaining, you provide thoughtful commentary and actually pay attention to the lyrical content (even offering your own analysis in some cases) which is something I truly appreciate.
Speaking of bands with "Queen" in their name, I would LOVE to see you react to a song by *my* favorite rock band Queens of the Stone Age. "No One Knows" was the song that introduced me to their work (one of their biggest mainstream hits), but I think that "Misfit Love" or "Smooth Sailing" would set your world on fire! 🔥 Much love to you; keep on doing what you're doing! 🤘

if you like 80s Metal with a fantastic Vocalist you're gonna need to check out Ronnie James Dio. I'd recommend starting Rainbow in the Dark or Man on the Silver Mountain cause i feel like those are some of the songs you'd like most sung by him.

Love Your Takes!!! Great band! The hardcore fans will probably say they sold out in 1990 but "Empire" is an amazing album from top to bottom. The guitarist you saw at the beginning is Chris DeGarmo.
Geoffrey Tate of Queensryche, Ann Wilson and her youngest sister Nancy Wilson, the late Layne Staley of Alice in Chains and the late Chris Cornell of Soundgarden lived in Metro Seattle in the 1970s. They were students of the late singing coach David Kyle. Marilyn Horne and Frederica von Stade were his students from classical music. Frederica von Stade moved to my hometown area the San Francisco Bay Area 🌉

Silent Lucidity isn't a bad song, it's just definitely a dreamy ballad, doesn't really fit with the rest of their songs. Empire is great too but the best of the best is definitely their album "Operation Mindcrime". That whole thing needs to be listened to in one sitting & it will blow you away!

Your channel has a gaping hole. Where's the Pink Floyd? Please listen to "Time", and "Money". Probably Money first, it's a banger, then Time.

    WUZZUP ROB ⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️
Okay , I gonna hit ya with something 10 times harder than R.A.T.M. They are called
PANTERA , CHECK OUT PRIMAL CONCRETE SLEDGE OFFICIAL VIDEO , it was done in RUSSIA ,
Then listen to COWBOYS FROM HELL , Studio version , and 1 more to bring it home , .FUCKING HOSTILE - That's a good banger .
    Now you have the assignment,
I KNOW YOU WILL ACHIEVE MAXIMUM METAL PERSONIFICATION. It's not easy to really transcend te impossible fucking power of a pantera concert , but here's a sneak peek .
    KEEP ROCKIN ROB ⚡️⚡️⚡️😎💯
