Which is a sizeable amount given their global reach. Meaning other league 2 teams are going to b*tch and moan even though it would be "different " if it was their club
Our last accounts are reported to be over 20 million. We can spent 55% of that turnover on wages. Player purchases aren’t necessarily included in that and neither is any money put into the club by investors, including the owners, as long as it isn’t given as a loan. In short we can spend over 10 million on wages. Bolton Wanderers last accounts showed a turnover of around 14 million for comparison. We don’t have any worries regarding spending rules or the ability to raise money to spend. Every game will be sold out next season… every game. We will also play a part in filling stadiums wherever we travel this coming season. It’s good for all.
The talent pool for real football utterly dwarfs that of virtually all other sports combined, thus the athletic skill and talent spills over much further down the tiers of its associations' leagues than it does in every other professional sports association league tier system, hence the money involved is also that much greater. Nice summary going off the information that you have access to. I can't wait to hear the equivalent explanation by Humphrey and Sean Harvey at some point. They've played it and planned it so well. With the timing of the sponsor and advertising contracts ending and the documentary, along with the fact they did secure promotion. And now that they're in the NL and are in charge of their own streaming packages, that side will also grow. Not a Wrexham fan, but enjoying watching something being done very well from afar and looking forward to seeing what they can achieve.
Actually, the revenues are now around the $20m pound level. That allows for over 11m in wages. Only one big signing and the foster contract will leave them plenty in the bank for the January window. Expect them to reinforce with a big signing.
We also signed a CB from the championship already. I think it was a free transfer but more to come for sure. It's going to be a good season for us Wrexham fans
Don't think they will need a further investor any time soon. The key will be to stay in L2 at least (promotion is the dream scenario) and bolster their revenues. Attendance/ticket sales will rise once the new stand is opened in 24/25. Keeping L2 status allows them to surge forward financially.
i find it ironic how if any owners put many into signings, the opposition fans cry "oh look their owners are splashing money" but then they cry if their own owners aren't spending much. Look at United, they cry about how much City spends, but then they also accuse the Glazers for not doing the same
Its interesting you bring up other investors. It seems they do have that power since they and some other celebs, just bought a share in the Alpine F1 team. I'm sure they can convince other Hollywood folks to join.
I think there’s a sponsorship comparison element for the league they’re in. Given some of these sponsors are Ryan’s own companies (or at least he’s a part-owner), they can’t have over inflated sponsorship deals, otherwise it could be seen as skirting the rules surrounding an owner just pumping as much cash into the club as they like. For example, Man City have been in hot water over some of the club’s sponsors (also owned by the City owners) over-inflating the sponsorship sums they’re giving to the club, compared with other like-for-like deals towards the top of the EPL.
Such great reporting, considering in May 2023 it was reported Wrexham made well over 9 million pounds just off the documentary. These numbers are laughably outdated.
That is a wonderful idea. Really, I think that would be exciting and extremely satisfying for the area and, of course, for the people all around there. Thank you for the thought. I really hope someone will make that happen!!!
It's wierd that owners would charge interest on their loan which is higher than the bas rate. Just taking profit out the club. I know then need to earn money from their investment, but surely growing the club is the best way to do that
You mean they haven't poured money into the club in excess of that 45k? Hmm. Without that investment the club would still be circling the drain. The grounds was never going to be updated by the city. They've also invested in the community around the grounds. So please don't recycle Glazer rhetoric as if they aren't managing the club for both short and long term growth.
The base rate is set by bank of England, this rate only applies to other banks.commercial interest are much higher.also providing loan instead of straight up cash infusion ensures that their investment can be recouped even when they bring new investors.
This is, in all likelihood, just a bridging loan (aka construction loan) to get the stadium up to the new standard. When completed the club will refinance and pay out the owners' original loan.
