  • Hey boys and girls. Today we are going to try and break it down how to use a Bounty Hunter Discovery 3300. I know I will probably forget something. But hopefully you will learn something before we are done.

    I just dug my 3300 out of the closet for the grandkids and rewatched this for a quick reminder. Another note: You can decrease the sensitivity of the pinpoint mode with a button push. Using pinpoint in it's most sensitive will still indicate quite a large area. What you can do is as soon as the pinpoint starts to signal, switch in and out of pinpoint. This will automatically "reset" to a non-signal state thereby reducing the sensitivity allowing you to make a much more accurate location the first time.

    Richard this video is wonderful.I bought this detector last week off of Amazon. It is on sale right now so the prices is great. I have been watch this video over and over to better understand what I need to do. You talk about ground balancing and even show us how. The way you do it is a little different than the way the written instructions show. Your way seems faster and simpler. Thanks for helping all of us getting started.

      I am so glad this was helpful. When I made this video. I wanted to make sure I included everyI could think of for my friend. This way if he had any questions. He could just go back and watch the video again. How do you like the 3300 so far?
      There’s another video I did. It’s like a 1h:40m long. It was my 3 day vacation. I just decided to put them all together. Basically I put the Garrett AT Max against the Bounty Hunter Discovery 3300. If you watch it. Check out how the 3300 out performs the AT Max when it comes to iron discrimination.

      Thank you! I wanted to explain everything I could think of for a friend of mine who had never used a metal detector before. Anytime he had a question. All he has to do is go back and rewatch it again.
      I am glad you found it useful. Have you found anything useful with your Bounty Hunter?

      That detector has been a real treat to use. Plus that ZAP feature is something that I don’t know why other detectors do not implement. Also. Check out different coils. The 12” DD coil pretty much upgrades the detecting ability of the 3300.

    almost a year to the day later im watching this. thank you so much for breaking it down like you have!!! especially the ground balancing part. Is it used for different soils? like hard ground versus softer dirt, or sandy places? what is ground balance for exactly and when should it be used or tweeked?

    • @CarolinaDiggers
      @CarolinaDiggers  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Lady Spitfire. I actually made that video for a childhood friend. He always wanted a Metal Detector and I gave him my 3300. I tried to make a video on how to use THAT metal detector and hopefully have pretty good success using it. And like you said. I tried to break it down the best I could. So if he had any questions later. He could go back and revisit options he may not be sure of.
      Ground Balancing. Now with the 3300 & the 3500. You really don’t have to use Ground Balancing at all. There is the preset option that gives you the best condition on normal ground. Now when I say “normal” a place you will find that the 3300 will probably have problems will be the wet beach sand. (Not sure if you have tried yours in beach sand or not). But if your 3300 is all random beeps and chattery. That’s when Ground Balancing will come in to play. What it tries to do is give you the best ground condition with mineralized soil/dirt.

    Hello! Great vid! Just getting into metal detecting. I looking at either the Discovery 3300 or Sharp Shooter II. I am curious if the Discovery 3300 do ok at the beach? I would not be hunting on beaches much but I would like a detector that works ok on the beach. Also any opinion on Discovery 3300 vs Sharp Shooter II? Thanks!

      Get that 3300! It’s the best Detector (I think) for the money. And that ZAP feature will spoil you.

    Interested in getting into metal detecting. Will this also find gold? What sound and numbers will it show for gold? Thanks for the video very informative.

    • @CarolinaDiggers
      @CarolinaDiggers  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It will if you don’t discriminate for Iron. That’s hard to say. Gold nuggets ring up differently than the gold they use for jewelry. But it will find it. You just have to be careful in not getting the control box wet if you use it in a creek. Or you’ll have a nice door prop!

    Please - When the pointer moves in the metal detector and heads towards the $1 sign, what does it mean?

    • @CarolinaDiggers
      @CarolinaDiggers  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Im sorry. I am not sure what you are asking. I think on the 3300 if the Target ID is in the 110 range. That means its a Large Metal Object.

  • @campingoutlandersassociati2844

    What is the reasoning for notching out iron?

    • @CarolinaDiggers
      @CarolinaDiggers  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you are only looking for coins. It will get rid of a lot of digging you may not want to do. It also makes the 3300 a lot more quieter compared to other more expensive Metal Detectors. However once you get use to going All Metal Mode. You’ll want to check out using your threshold to try to grab those REALLY deep almost completely out of reach targets.

      A lot of people who are getting in to the hobby ad don’t want to spend a arm & a leg on something they may not end up liking.
