Very good, informative video. One question however: What about the (facial) nerves? I understand they run quite close to where the surgery is performed. How common are things like partial paralysis or numbness in the face (also in the lower lip; IAN)? Thanks.
This man charged me £300 to tell me over a 5 minute consultation where he didn’t examine me, that I was anxious and he couldn’t help me. That was pretty heartbreaking as there are so few experts around on this matter. I have advanced degeneration of the TM joints with condyle flattening with chronic pain spanning years (which I guess was making me anxious) which I learned through somebody else who requested an MRI and listened. Awful experience, I would not recommend him to anyone. No empathy and all hubris. Could do better with his medical practice. From a colleague.

Facial nerve damage post tmj replacement is a potential risk but it is relatively uncommon
