It's funny it took until X-Men 258 for Scott to be convinced Jim was his meal ticket.
Was that when he moved into Homage Studios with Whilce and Jim?
1989 and 1990 were years of exponential growth in Lee's skill level, and it must have been evident to Williams page to page.
@14:36 Really interesting panel to the left.. looks a bit like a Larry Stroman influenced shot!? Or could be vice versa?!?..🤔 since I'm not sure when when Larry Stroman started in comics but i know he used that top down perspective alot in his later comic work..Good review of Jim's early work truly gifted Artist! (Im just not crazy abot the coloring in thisnthis comic i get being Nam & most scenes would take place at night bit it seem abit hard to read with Jims Detailed pencils
The top-down perspective shot is a staple of Lee's. I think he gets it in part from Art Adams. But he and Stroman got into the industry around the same time in the mid 80s.
The "drug discussion" was great and was before it's time! It could be used word for word today! Just change the drug name to, well,a number of things
I agree, Danny.
Hey "B"! I was just doing a bit of math. I was 16 when this book came out,I never realized how quickly Jim Lee and the other IMAGE creators shot to the top at MARVEL. I was 19 when X-MEN came out and X-FORCE the year before, right? Silvestri put in his time and Todd had kind of a rough start but I guess they had to walk so others could run
Jim Lee's star rose stratospherically! He improved on a steep curve!
