- The Image: Like any good soap opera - the ending is left slightly ambiguous, as though demonic Rhoda might just turn up out of the blue unscathed in a future sequel and start a new killing campaigning - all over again!

Neither the novel nor the play had this Hollywood ending. Rhoda outlives Christine in both, a far more realistic finale.
