Great job taking us through all the features. It's amazing how many people on TH-cam don't know how to use a plasma cutter properly. Taking it one step further, most guys don't understand how to set up air and amps based on thickness of material.

I bought one 4 months ago to cut some 1/2" Armor Plate, and it worked like a charm. Love it, and I a just a hobby guy, not a pro.

I'm glad I found your video. I don't trust reviews given by people that were given the machine. The fact that you bought two of them convinced me. You and there's only one other guy I could find that bought one. And they like them. Also thanks for explaining what everything does.

Yeah I still use them and they haven’t missed a beat.
Sometimes I just cut stuff up for the fun of it 😂

Lots of reviews on the 50amp but I haven't seen many on the 65 amp version. Thanks.

I have the 50 amp bestarc and love it. I curious as what size breaker (220) do you have to run the 65? I would have bought the 65 but did not know if my breaker was big enough.

      I have a 40 amp, 240 volt breaker I use when using 240 volts, and a dedicated 20 amp 120 V circuit for 120v use.
On 120v I can only go as high as 25A.

I think I received a lemon. It won’t stay on. Post arc shuts off. Won’t cut 1/8” flats. When it’s working it cuts great, but it shuts off every 2-3 seconds. EDIT - After lots of testing and checking we found the breaker on this circuit to be faulty, losing power and causing he machine to stop and start. Since replacing it cuts great, on 110V up to 40psi @ 35 AMPs.

If your running it on 120v the highest you should set it is 15 or 20 amps. Anything higher and it will shut down and maybe even trip your breaker.
For 1/8” you should only need about 15amps.

Sorry 15amps and about 20 psi air pressure

Have you tried using without the guard to cut ? Example, tabs off a frame.

Yes I’ve used it with and without the stand-off tip, unless it’s a small cut I usually do use the stand off.
If I use it on my motorized plasma cutting table I always use the stand off.

@@floydwilcox2640 thank you. I have to cutoff 24 1.5” x 3/16” tabs just above the weld on a trailer frame and I can’t get down close enough with the stand on the nozzle. I don’t really want to use a cutoff disc. Your reply has me puzzled. I thought we could not use a high frequency machine on a cutting table?

    What is cycling run time

    • @floydwilcox2640
      @floydwilcox2640  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

Hi, the only limit to run time is based on the air supply, I use a 25gal air compressor and I can run it all day if I need to.
There not like a welder with a duty cycle, they run fine as long as you have a good air supply. I’ve seen guys use small air compressors and The only thing they have to wait on is for the air pressure to build back up.
