Are you kidding me? That's an awfully generous interpretation of how the electoral college works, it in fact does not work like that how you could even sit there with a straight face and suggest that it works like that... is pure ideological entrenchment.
The role of the electoral college deals with end results, not cooperative results calling them the end, so they can justify the means it doesn't work that way, they have to figure out what the states are going to do with who is on what ballot if they're on a ballot.

Yeah except there wasn't any real primary election for the Democratic nominee. Sure, people voted for Biden, but that's because the DNC made sure there were no serious challengers to him. He was essentially the only choice. None of this was democratic. So I don't think anyone should get their panties in a twist when someone else is selected if he drops from the race.
