Great work. I really enjoy spoking wheels. Leave the afternoon free and no visitors. Cant talk and work like some people . Very relaxing. Ive done about 10 XT wheels. Changed spokes to stainless. They look great. First wheel had to do and undo the spokes a couple of times to get the orientation right. Luckily i had another bike to check layout. With some machine work I even arsed fitting a rear rim to the front hub. I wanted an 18in on the front as I had a new tyre 18in lying round. Quote from a wheel shop for spokes ,rim and fitting $600. I took a punt and ended up using 1 flange off a rear wheel onto a machined 21in hub so needed spokes to suit rear wheel, which are same length both sides. Started lacing and it turned out a perfect fit.
Nice video! I'm about to put new spokes on my XT as well. Are these the same parts as in the other video where you took the rear wheel apart? Or did you order new rims and hubs?
I worked my whole life repairing motorcycles, recently i started restoring our family XT 500, My father got the bike in bits of a co worker.. 30 years ago.. My brother and me both started on this XT.. And it's so much fun working on the bike again.. even more respect for the engineers . What a cool bike.

New rim and stainless steel spokes. Old hub repainted
What rims did you go for?
@@anthonyrobinson3536 I believe they were unbranded excel rims to keep with the XT theme.
Great build

Sorry , aber das video ist leider völlig untauglich für eine gute Anleitung zum Einspeichen.
