- Legend has it that Khwaja Nizamuddin Auliya was enormously aggrieved and distressed by the sudden and untimely death of his nephew Taqiuddin Nooh. He withdrew himself from all worldly affairs and started avoiding mehfils and meeting his followers. This became a worrisome situation for his disciples after some time - as they tried many a ruses to cheer their master up but failed.
Then one day, Amir Khusro (one of his most favorite disciples) saw some young women draped in yellow clothes and adorned with marigold flowers, singing and dancing in delight - as they went to pray in a temple nearby, on Vasant Utsav (Spring Festival). Seeing this Khusro immediately attired himself up in yellow 'Ghaghra and Chunni'; hung garlands of marigold around his neck and with a bunch of sarson(mustard) flowers in hands, went straightaway to his masters room. There he started dancing and singing to his self-composed song. This gesture of Khusro brought a smile on Hazrat Nizamuddin's face and since then every year for more than seven centuries now, Sufi Basant has become a regular festival.

Sindhu ghati sabhyata is indigenous to india. The invaders came, saw, looted and killed the very essence of sindhu ghati sabhyata. This song is in awadhi, how come amir khusro, an urdu learned made such composition without any help.

The orthodox Muslims hated Sufism because it was liberal. Also it had singing and dancing which was prohibited in Islam. So all the people who were tired of orthodox Islam and even Hinduism joined it. Even Buddhism and Jainism took birth from Hinduism because Hinduism was too orthodox although Buddhism too became orthodox later. Even today you see many fractions of Hinduism because we have not understood the basic ideas..i.e., love liberty equality tolerance. Behave like proper humans at least like the Vedic Aryans. You have been brainwashed by the Manusmriti.

Bahar
It is raga Bahar. Each raga is associated with the best time, season, mood, even for invoking god's mercy either in humility, frustration or gratitude.This is for expression of happy mood, for spring, harvesting, harbinger of prosperity.
This is raag Bahar, with notes very similar to raag Malhar. The sequence Ma Pa Ni(lomal) Dha Ni(Shudh) Ni(Shudh) Sa is found in both Malhar & Bahar.
However both these raags are very different in terms of mood and expressions. Malhar is mostly sung in the lower octave to mid octave whereas Bahar is an Uttarang pradhan raag and sung from mid octave to upper octave.
Malhar is associated with monsoon season. The very name is combination of "mal" meaning dirt and "har" sensing to get rid of dirt with the fresh droplets of monsoon.. whereas Bahar is a raag that welcomes the season of Spring and fertility.

People oblivious to the history think it is some kind of cultural renaissance, but it was a blood ridden chapter of history, Islamist think sufism as mockery, and wana be secular hindu celebrate the mass conversions agenda which is just copy of bhakti movement.

The real history of the song is again distorted by the liberals. The song was sung by and always part of the folk music of awadh to rajasthan. Once, amir khusro was sad and depressed after a lost battle. He saw a group if men and women dressed in yellow singing merrily the song . Amir khusro heard and liked the song. He admired the simple ,soothing,inspiring and composed demeanor. He then made it famous in praise of H. N. Auliya.
The whole song is in awadhi language, not a iota of urdu is present. It was later modified by the 'Anu Malik' of Delhi-Amir Khusro.
Whose composition have been inspired from many local songs.
