    #SUMMARY:
    1. Break project to smaller task
    2. Mix easy task, so we can feel like we're productive
    3. 10 minutes rule. E.g. instead learn 2 hours better learn for 10 minutes. Your brain will think it's more acceptable to learn 10 minutes, but when you are learning, you may want to continue to finish 'till more than 10 mins
    4. Learn triggers.
    5. Rest well by entertain yourself. Balance productive and entertainment in live
    6. Ditch book and use interactive tool instead, such as Brilliant
    Thank youu. Love your 10 minutes rule haha

      I write only first subtask. Found out that writing all subtasks usually is a waste of time, especially if the plan is obvious. If everything goes as planned, then after completing p1 I will know what p2 is. If something goes not as planned, then p2, p3, p4 will be cancelled, so why would I bother to write them in the first place?
      That said, I still make sure that the subtask can be done in less then 15 minutes, otherwise it's not a subtask. Also, my tasks are pretty straightforward, so I don't need to plan ahead.

    • @orjeta6713
      @orjeta6713 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I used to so but then I started to write shorter to do lists with 3-4 things to do. After finishing those 3-4 tasks I gave myself some time to relax and then I started writing other 3-4 tasks and so on...it wad such a good thing cuz my brain wasn't getting scared of the amound of things to do.It became so easy for me then

      For some reason, what works with me is listening to music with lots of lyrics I already know... so when I'm studying part of me is focused on the song (I usually sing along) and the other in learning. When the test comes, I can associate topics to the songs I was listening to while studying. This may not work for everyone, but is one of the ways I study (I passed 9 classes of History of Art like this in uni, every single one with an A/over 90%).

    • @aricarly
      @aricarly 5 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Another tip, when I feel like I can't concentrate or study or work at all, I have a playlist where I know the times every song is going to play (like 10-15-30 minutes), and I challenge myself to finish my tasks or part of them before said times, or before some specific song plays. Like a game.

For me, I just finished writing my midterm exams and so I gave myself 2 days break (catching up on life, socializing with friends) and now I'm ready to tackle my project which is due soon but I feel wayy more refreshed and motivated !

    I tried some time the list method, but if I am not in the mood I lost focus or spent so much time doing a little task that I ended doing other things.
    I need to try the 10 minutes rule, maybe this works.
    Today was the first time I used Notion and I love it. It'll be a great tool to organize my notes for my final grade essay (I don't know if this is the correct translation, Spanish trying to translate subjects to English).

    Thanks for awesome video! I've already knew all of this (but haven't used a lot), except knowing your triggers, that's what I'll try today! What also helps me every day is setting goal like "minimal effort" (little task which still helps) and "hard work" (if I feel like I wanna continue after minimal effort, I do more). Even if I don't feel like work hard, I do this minimal effort and I feel I've done at least something today 😊

      Hey I got the same schedule as you. I have class at 9:30-10:45 and another class that is at 2pm-4pm. My other 3 classes are online classes. Even though it doesn’t take me 40 minutes to get to home( 20 minutes in fact) it’s still tiring to drive home and exhausting knowing I still have schoolwork at home to do. Anyway, they how I do it is that I wake up early, like wake up at 5am-6am early. At early in the morning I’m groggy but once I’m doing my hygiene tasks like showering and brushing my teeth and eating breakfast, I’m good to go to study a bit before 9:00. In the morning gn, I’m reviewing for my lecture class at 2, reading material from my other classes, and scheduling on what I need to do at school and bring to campus before I leave. It’s all about scheduling your time and knowing your limits. After my first class, I go to the library and do my assignments from my three online classes( it takes an hour or a hour and half to do each assignment for me but you should still know what assignment is important or take longer to do). By the time it’s 1pm-1:15, I’m done with my assignments and I’m either eating or resting at the desks in the library. After my lecture and lab class, it’s already 4pm and I’m heading home to rest some more for two hours before I study( if I can’t rest for two hours because for some reason I didn’t complete my assignments at the library, I’m immediately doing 30 minute sessions to complete one assignment before doing another 30 minutes to complete another assignment after a five minute break)during my two hours I’m resting talking to friends talking to my family and boyfriend and doing chores. After my two hours are up, I’m studying for my material for my next lecture class( not reviewing, studying), taking revision notes, and reading for the next material in my other online classes. By the time it’s 8-9, I’m done and finished with everything I need to learn and I’m eating dinner, taking a shower, watching my favorite shows, etc before 10pm.
      The whole point of this is to show you that it takes time to schedule everything and you need to know your limits. I recommend watching TH-cam videos from TomFrank, Mariana, studyquill, and revisgn, and maybe even a few college vlogs it you’re into lifestyle videos. They are all going to tell you the same thing: schedule, take advantage of your time, and study everyday( even for 30 minutes). The most common study routine to do is break your studying into 30-1hr sessions and take a break in between( no more than 30 minutes during studying). Also if you need something to hold your schedules, use a planner or use an app or a calendar. If you have a test and you are a slow learner, take two weeks to study and break your studying material into parts that you can do each day before the test. If you are fast learner, take a week to study. While studying for a test, you should still put priority over other classes and do them as quickly as possible so that they aren’t in the way. If you have more than one test to do, again study a week or two and break your studying materials apart for each day. I hope this helps and I know the struggle but with the help of TH-cam and others like Mariana I was able to schedule my time to study while also having fun for myself
