    This consumer (me), is willing to pay more for what I perceive to be the higher quality of engineering, finishing, and feel of the Beretta 80.

      I own a Ruger security 380. After shooting the other two, I couldn’t justify the additional cost for perceived quality difference. If you maintain your firearms as I do, you don’t have the corrosion issues some have cited with the Ruger slide finish.
      Overall, the Ruger is easier to rack than most; it has 15 +1 capacity, good sights out of the box, and almost no felt recoil compared to 9mm pistols. It is a great firearm for those who have difficulty racking the slide, and are sensitive to recoil.

      @@E52O4People sweat differently, when i carried a ruger I would have to remove rust and oil twice a week to stay on top of it. I would pay 2-3x the cost of a ruger to not have that issue alone.
      My lc9s had a sear spring issue (that I now read is common). I’m done with ruger semi-autos at this point. There are so many better options that being a blind fan of low standards isn’t high on my list.
      Nobody is telling you not to love your rugers, maybe you got all the good ones.

    Galloway Precision has some nice upgrades for the Ruger Security 380 (& 9). One being a red dot base that fits into the rear sight's dove tail.

    2 buddies and myself bought the Ruger Security 380 light rack. $318 taxes and background check. The Ruger is a great weapon. My two buddies were law enforcement and have a lot of experience and weapons. They are retired now but love to go to the range. I’m a retired bad guy that went good gets to go with them to the range. The Ruger is really a great way to go. Good video and thanks to Ruger firearms.

    I purchased both the Sig 365-380 and the Ruger Security 380. For concealment with summer clothing, I prefer the Sig 365-380 and the Ruger Security 380 when wearing a jacket or sports coat. I like both equally and especially the Ruger with the 15-round mag. I use a 12-round Sig mag for the Sig 365-380. In my view, both are winners and entice me to go shooting more often, which is a plus.

      Watching this video help me realize I need a set up like yours. I love the Security-380 but in the summer heat it was killing me when I had the 15 rounder in there.
      I think I'll pick up the Sig to try out for most of the year.

    In my opinion it’s safer to carry DA/SA with one in the chamber than any striker. Hence, I decided to switch from p365 (9mm) to 80x. P365 I still use as one of the guns for home protection - I just wasn’t comfortable with carrying it with one in the chamber. Also I absolutely agree that p365 even 9mm has less recoil than 80x and is more pleasant to shoot. Not even sure how is that possible. Also it’s worth to mention that 80x stock double stack magazine has 13 rounds.

    Might be in the minority here, but optics on a "pocket" pistol like the P365 seems self defeating. I have the Ruger Security 380 and the P365 380. They have different roles, even though the same caliber.

    I own a Ruger security 380. And then mounted a holosun 407. Galloway makes a mounting plate. Then i also ordered a plus 3 for my 15 round clip. The ruger was recommended by an academy employee. I have weakened and damaged wrists from handyman work. The ease of the rack . The light recoil made this a great first gun for me. 380 means your back on 🎯 fast with the light recoil. I will say that you should feed the Ruger cci or high quality ammo. I have run fiocchi auto fmj through it. However i believe the ammo doesn't fit in the gun. Because the bullet pressed into the jacket caused the jacket to become larger than the barrel. Therefore if it does feed it needs to be taped into the chamber the last quarter of an inch. I had 10 failures to feed. I switched to Winchester rounds and it fired all 17. There was a visual difference between the two bullets that you could see the morphed jacket. And you could feel the bullet was a tad larger. Other than what i experienced its a great looking fun gun. My other consideration that i may pickup next is the walther pd380. Mainly because of the ergonomics in the grip. However you do loose some capacity. I would also say higher grain ammo and breakin time will help this gun to be more reliable. Sadly i wouldn't try hollowpoints. As they may stovepipe. With the rougher tip hanging up. However thats just a theory. Soon to be tested😊

Also the 15+ 1 capacity is almost 3 times what the S&W was. Love the front fiber optic sight and with all the videos I've watched before deciding to buy I JUSY KNOW its gonna be a great CC GUN.

      We had a PK380 when they first released, but it was one of the early ones with the firing pin problems. I'd like to eventually get another one to give it a proper second chance. In the hand it felt like it had a lot of potential.

      The PK380 was originally made by S&W as part of a deal with Walther. Those original ones were prone to the same firing pin failure the bodyguard 380 had when it first came out, because they had some common parts.

    • @fuze3522

      No. Sig and Ruger are locked breech like 9mm and larger pistols, which make the recoil much softer. But i feel accuracy is better with the 80x due to the fixed barrel vs tilt barrel system of others.

    It's a shame you didn't include the S&W EZ. I'm sure you had a reason though. The grip safety of the EZ eliminates it for me and so I'd lean for the Ruger, though the Beretta would be nice to own and shoot. The older some of get, the more weight becomes important for a carry gun.

    • @Th3BaconNation
      @Th3BaconNation  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The EZ is one we intended to include more regularly, but the crew member who has it has been using it in weekend training courses, and we haven't had access to it for videos as a result. It's one we hope to add back to the comparison rotation soon.

    I believe the 380 ACP was intended for urban social work. The probability of exiting the intended target is low.
    A Hollow Point from a more powerful caliber when tested in other than ballistic gel or water jugs frequently will not expand. This can result in a bullet leaving with 1/3 of its velocity. This takes 1/3 of the Energy out of the target. The good news is that 3-400 fps is typically not going to be lethal.
    You also have to be realistic and assume multiple hits not a single one will be needed.

    • @MeMadeIt
      @MeMadeIt ปีที่แล้ว +2

      John Moses Browning created the 380ACP (and 32ACP) in the late 1890's in a quest to produce more powerful cartridges for small, lightweight, simple and easy to produce semi-automatic pistols. Increasing penetration was a primary goal. Back then, over penetration would have been seen as a good thing.

    There's no getting around the fact that the Sig p365 is the smallest and lightest of the 3 pistols. I pocket carry the Sig p365. In my opinion, it is at the top end of what one can pocket carry. I really don't think the Beretta is a candidate for pocket carry. Maybe the Ruger can be pocket carried, but it can never be as easy as the Sig. You'd probably have to choose your pants very carefully.
