  • A range review with the Beretta 80X, an updated version of the model 84 Cheetah. This is a nice gun, but why would Beretta bring this 380 Auto gun back to market now?

I liked your video. Don’t worry about what others say. I like you just fine. I would like to get a Beretta 80X some day. That or a 92 variation.

No practical use but I just brought home the 80x in OD Green. Yeah, I really like the way it looks!

Well not everybody wants a small concealed carry gun and the smaller the gun the harder it is to shoot. They may want a compact duty/service or full size for home defense and gun range use that is easier to operate and shoot. Usually the heavier and larger the gun the less recoil. Longer sight radius and better velocity and energy with longer barrels. Less muzzle flip and faster recovery between shots. I like your summaries and run down on some comparisons of similar guns. There are some folks that might not know those things. Yes I do like the frame manual safeties better. I rarely ever used the manual safeties on my Taurus PT92AF (it had no decocker but they do today in the same model) and Beretta 92 (slide mounted decocker) since they have firing pin block safeties for safe double action carry. My Spanish Astra A-100 is a SIG P226 copy and has a decocker with no manual safety. I did use the manual safeties on my single action 1911A1 and I use them on my single action striker pistols that do not have a double action. If you like Berettas you should try some Bersas since their guns are similar because Bersa was founded in Argentina by a former Beretta engineer. I have a Bersa TPR9C and its a great pistol with a sweet trigger both DA and SA. I have heard their striker BP9CC is good also and there is always the old Thunder .380ACPs. Thanks for sharing.

I have been wanting to try a Bersa out on the channel, but I don't ever seem to see them around here anymore. They used to be very common. I am not sure what has changed.

@@Preacher357 Bersa did drop Eagle Imports for their US distributors and now Talon Distributing in Kennesaw, GA has Bersa USA. Maybe because of change of distributors. I have seen TPR9Cs in my local gun shop pistol case at least last year so I know they are around. Used to be hard to get extra mags for them and they are pricey but Talon claims that will change and mags will be more available. The price of Bersa guns usually run close to the same as Smith prices so I would not call them budget guns as some folks do. My TPR9C is very reliable after over 600 rounds of different ammo and its also very accurate. I don't care for the polygonal barrel or the firing pin take down or the safety lock but outside of those gripes its a great pistol.

This is a great pistol and I'm getting awesome groups with it. They knew what they were doing with the 4" barrel. Better velocity ,accuracy, and hollow point expansion.

380 provides adequate defese and faster follow-up shots for every shooter, not just thiose who don't care for recoil. The caliber also reduces the risk of over penetration at least somewhat in crowded environments like an apartment. 380 will work fine regardless of gelatin shooting "experts' who also pretend that we all wear four layers of denim. I have multiple 9mm pistols, a couple of thirty-eights, and a fourty-five and still would love to own one of these. The 92x Centurion is, by far, my favorite gun, so I know I would like this one.

The practical use is if you want a DA/SA carry gun that is small and compact, it's literally the only gun in its category.

Informative and fun video. Cool history on that one. You should keep it. I had Nano as well. Very snappy and prone to jams... for me at least.

Such a shame, this could have been Beretta's best gun ever in 10mm, .40 or even 9mm, oh well.

I don't have a problem with them re-releasing a Cheetah in 380, but they really need to come up with a decent high capacity small carry gun to compete in the CCW market. I love the 92X, but it is a large gun.

Hello Preacher Man : I have this pistol and I have great appreciation for the safety due to my disabilities and can be easily overcome by a attacker . Any additional operations to turn on the killing machine give valuable time to react to my own pistol being used against me. If I do any modifications I would ad another safety. Also your ruger has a 3.5 inch barrel compared to 80x 4 inch which gives a bit more kick ,more velocity to handle. Just my thoughts! I have few subscriptions , so please take that as a compliment.
