All I know about old basketball is from bill simmons’ book written in 2009 and he ranked Nate 44 out of 96. I’m gonna read up on him after I finish watching this. Thanks for sharing!
@@sportscardrippingteacher Vince!! Man the Falcons looked good last night. We had dinner across the street from the stadium and toyed with walking over but our boys just don’t do good in the cold BG weather so we settled for ESPN! Thanks for stopping by!
GREAT TRIBUTE to the BIG MENG! Mission accepted!! I'll be on the hunt for the 68-69 Topps Test card! EXCELLENT cards in your collection! That Bulls card with Kareem is EPIC! 1st ever Quadruple double 🤔 WHOZAZZ!! Learned a little more about Nate the GREAT!
This was great to see a spotlight on a player like Thurmond. I was honestly not familiar with anything about him but i know that you went to BGSU! Cool that he was the first player ever in the league for a Quadruple Double. Enjoyed as always and thanks for sharing with us buddy! Hope all are doing well.
Now this is going to be a fun series. Especially when it comes to basketball players. I've got very limited knowledge and this was such an awesome breakdown of a heck of a career.
Thanks Zach! It will be a learning experience for this guy too!! I’ve had a couple of messages from folks already giving me more info that I didn’t know.
Great cards of the ‘Giant Card Man’ man!!! Good info and sweet collection of him. Cool bobblehead doll! I don’t have many vintage basketball, they look great sir!!!
Wait…let’s clear this up. Doll?!?!?! Come on Jason!! 😫😫 It’s bad enough for my man hood that I collect photos of dudes on cardboard, don’t put a doll stamp on me! Haha. Just messing with you, I sleep with it in my bed😳😜
Great player spotlight, BK. Love me some vintage Pro Hoops. Great cards- Schick? Are you kidding me? Very informative, your channel is the definitive authority on BGSU sports, especially, basketball! I’ll keep my eyes open for that proof card. If YOU ever come across one of those Vintage NBA Lunch Boxes, let me know I’m looking to pair it with my Nate Thermos! Thanks for sharing and Good Collecting👍❤️
Nate Thermos?!?! We need to make this happen! I feel like the Schick cards need to come back to turn these long beards to Staches! Thanks for watching Rob. Most importantly….you’ve been Racked!
Hard to imagine he played that long before they made a card for Thurmond. That tall boy is a pretty iconic set. Great trivia on why they wore their name on the front. I became a Golden State fan in 1975 when they won it all. Too bad Thurmond missed that championship by one year. Imagine if the Warriors would have not traded all of those players. Imagine a team with Robert Parrish, Thurmond, Rick Barry, and Wilt Chamberlin.
I always wondered that about the jerseys. I thought they just had goofy jerseys like my dad did at Bushnell High in the 70s😫. It’s crazy to think of him and Wilt playing together that first year. I’d like to see film from training camp that year!
Great stuff BK! As you know I collect Big Nate as well but not to near the extent you have. Hadn't seen a lot of those older cards before. That ruler.....whoa! Looks like great condition, that could be a Giant Card...Man, in a couple of ways! Looking forward to this series, great idea! I think the mini card may be my favorite. Also liked BG card that looks like it was made by the marketing department in and around the time I was there, had never seen that before. Do have to ask, what are you doing sleeving maybe your only Thurmond auto? Cmon man, top load that or even put on your big boy pants and one touch it! Let's go BK!
The ruler is definitely a Giant Card. It might be my first submission. As for that Nate auto, there is an invisible prototype protector around it that is like the armor in the movie Dune. It is safe!
Learned a lot about Big Nate! Quite the collection you got so far. Even though the card manufacturer slept on him for a while, there are some great cards of him out there. The Nabisco Sugardaddy is one of my favorites. Midget card…man! I’ll probably get banned for that one 😩
Yeah Topps not making basketball cards between 58 and 69 screwed a bunch of players and collectors alike. If they only had a card czar, things would be corrected! We like to refer to those as Little Cards Man! I won’t report you as we are all learning as we go.

I feel like Nate is under covered. Maybe because he was more of a defensive guy. Thanks for checking this out!
This was an absolute treat to watch seeing these old school vintage cards. Thanks for sharing, my friend!
Thanks man. Those old Topps cards hit different for sure.
Nate the great . Awesome showcase . Love the ruler cards
@@adamscardcloset9020 Thanks Adam! The ruler is my favorite, can’t wait to slab it!
Love the slim mini! It was a nice night of MAC football last night!

If you see it…take a pic because I don’t think Dr. K will let me mortgage the house for it!
Cool cards! The mini cardwas half the size of a normal mini!!! Insane!
Haha! Yeah they are kind of wild little cards. Pretty sweet though.

This was a poor man’s Player Spotlight VCS style! Lol. Thanks for watching brotha! I have some work to do to reach your level
@macwaxxstacks haha! No. You did a great Jon! Looking forward to hearing more players!
Another GREAT ONE!
Yeah boy
Some really nice cards, was not familiar with him before this video! Thanks for sharing and have a great rest of your week!
I’m glad I could bring Big Nate to your atmosphere! Have a great one!

Such a great career, so why haven't I heard of him? Thanks for sharing your knowledge so I could learn about him!
I’m glad that I could introduce you to him! Thanks for watching!
Nate Thurmond was a great player and you have sorme real nice Thurmond cards.
Thanks Mike! He is a fun guy to collect as he’s not out in the front of people’s minds. Appreciate your comment and that you’re watching.

Enjoyed the Thurmond card collection BK! Nate was a tough customer on defense.
He was out there locking people up like you at T Wolves games when guys try cutting lines at the urinal!
Cool stuff bud 👍 Have a good week 👊

@ ah! I’ll know next time you show a Sugardaddy. Speaking of sugardaddy, I looked up that bobblehead you big baller you 💰and it’s worth every penny!
@ yeah, that one that is on eBay is way over priced, but the only one that’s been available for at least the last 5-6 years. Kinda crazy.
