Well considering that after the war the modern Shiba is actually the cross breeding of three different dogs all called Shibas, the irony is some of those backyard Shibas look more like the Shibas before the war, just not the one you think of when you describe one.
Plus do you want to know what dogs have the best over all health? Mutts, pedigrees have predictable health problems but you’re forced to breed them with dogs with the same health problems over and over and over again. They counter this by claiming to keep meticulous records but it I for example married a Jewish woman like my mother, my children would have a very high chance of having iron deficiency due to how often my ancestors had such a small pool of people to pick partners from.
So in a very real sense if people really cared about the well being of the animal we would let them breed for best genes 🧬 not because they look good on Instagram or get looks when we go for walks.

I love your shibas and website! We have a 2 year old shiba pup do you have a raw food brand you recommend? He is prone to allergies and we working on his food options.

Are you a breeder yourself? May I ask, which breeder did you get your dogs from?

Thank you for this video! There’s a breeder here in AZ they have a cream shiba boy who’s 8 weeks old. As I’m only 23 and work from home talked with the breeder awhile and was able to answer all my questions. The original price was 2500 but after I said it’s higher than I had expected they said since I chatted with the owner and thought I’d be a good fit for the dog she dropped the price to 1800.
In your opinion do you think there is anything I should be wary of or do you think my long conversation with the owner made here truly want to drop the price so much for me as a new dog owner and explaining my story on why I wanted a shiba. Thank you very much any info is much appreciated.

I would be kind of wary that they dropped the price. Usually, Shiba puppies are $3,000-,$3,500.
The best and easiest way to find out your breeder is reputable is if they’re part of the AKC Breeder of Merit. I know that there’s only 1 Arizona breeder that has that badge.

The puppy needs a good home reguardless, if you're gonna be that home for them, then get the pup.

Yes but are u willing to throw thousands at vet bills for dogs with health issues bec of non reputable breeder greedily creating sub par animals for profit & not caring about extending good gene lines of the breed?
