SCIII has its own little charm to it, particularly the bridge where the percussion mutes. That aside, when I think of Soul Calibur music in any capacity, it's History Unfolds. The inherent valiance and heroism of the theme pumps you up to play, makes any character choice impactful, and that ethereal chorus and string ensemble at the end of the loop settles every theme debate singularly.
V & VI are my favorites, easily. Lots of nostalgia for IV's theme though, takes me right back! I'm pretty sure III was me & my dad's first Soulcalibur, but most of my memories are by far with the fourth one. We've both loved it ever since, such a good series.
It sounds like in Soul Calibur 5; they understood the direction they wanted to go but it was poorly executed. I've listened to Soul Calibur 6's character select music over and over and; I think they understand where they want to go and I think they just got there. My first soul calibur was II, then I played IV a lot but sucked at games, I played V literally everyday for hours with my brother.. but I just played VI for the first time recently and that game instantly flew up to top favorite

idk why maybe its that magic you have when you are a kid, but I was born in 1996 and played games since ever, my mom bought me a N64 even before having me... and then, this magical games, worlds, histories, all this game me so much fun and imagination. SCV is the only one that is currently 100% confirmed to be noncanon at the moment. Though, future events are referenced in SCVI.
