I’m thinking whether the wife have understood already, that she will miss you in the zone for couple of next weeks lol 😂 Anyway, good luck in the zone and greetings from Ukraine.
As an OG stalker I’m happy to see people discovering the zone. In Stalker the tension is like no other. When you go in the underground your hair will stand up. If you played the originals you will recognize a lot of the locations.
I enjoyed listening to your fresh take on the Stalker series. Over time, you'll learn how to fight different enemies and what guns work best on them, how to avoid different anomalies, which fights to avoid, etc. That is how you 'level up' in Stalker.
Atmosphere is Stalker's best quality. Always has been. I've played all of the games since SOC. Stalker 2 has the best realistic atmo I've seen. And you're right about the difficulty choices
Hi from the uk, found your channel in the last few days. I really like your stuff. I never comment on youtubers videos but I find you very welcoming and genuine, I usually find TH-cam's that are way over the top and it feels forced, keep up the good work, new subscribers
I'm not nearly as far into this as you, but already it feels like the Zone from the original trilogy. Same ambiance, same terror with paradoxical compulsion to continue. Nothing quite compares honestly.
I’m also new to the series and set it on the hardest difficulty along with turning off most of the HUD because I want my experience to be as brutal as possible. The moment I have a game “figured out” and the sense of danger is gone I completely lose interest. So far my experience has been awesome because I’m just barely scraping by in most scenarios. I can’t afford to repair anything and I still don’t quite understand how to find artifacts so I’m broke most of the time. The fact that I have to sneak around and retreat from a lot of fights instead of going in guns blazing like Rambo tells me this is going to be a great game.
Love seeing the zone through a new stalker. I hope you’re having fun despite (or because of) the difficulty of the game. Im glad that it sounds like you’re having a good time at the very least. I will be watching you for this and kcd2 in February. Good hunting, stalker.
You summed it up perfectly...EVERYTHING in the Zone is trying to kill you. I've got several thousands of hours playing the 3 original games, usually heavily modded..I forgot how much fun it is to try and survive in the Zone with nothing modded to help me. My only complaint so far is that I haven't heard a single "cheeki breeki" and I'm 15 hours in!
What an interesting perspective, thanks for sharing! As someone whos been really invested in the stalker games and all the fan projects for a while I was surprised because the survival aspects in 2 felt stripped down to me lol. Appreciating new voices giving me a bit of a reality check.
I was watching your live stream at work with my headphones in yesterday and those first couple jump scares you had scared the crap out of me 😂😂 I laughed so hard you got scared and yelled and it made me jump and yell
The STALKER series captured me when released in 2009 (I think), bugs and all. Your summation of the game mimics my experience when playing the previous instalments. I look forward to picking up this new instalment. Enjoyed your vid and have subbed.
Just discover ur channel, so nice to see someone older playing games and their point of view... You mention that u never played metro , U HAVE TO u dont know what ur missing out , anyways solid video, and enjoy the Zone
You dont have enough money because you dont search for Artefacts- which is a main Aspect of the Game and i wonder how long it would take you to realise how important Artefacts are. Finding them and selling them is the main source of income for a Stalker.. some of them are so expensive that they cover your repairs a few times over easy.. also using them (equip them) makes a huge difference. Stop bleeding ones for instance make you use way less bandages and so on.. hope it helps a little :)
Thanks, i've stashed a couple of them and was really low on coupons, i just want to find someone with a bigger wallet for it so i go there and sell big, or keep them for later if there are quests. Ngl i deserved that artifact from the lesser zone, that guy the ward was looking for, he also deserved for coming at me 😅
@@Renfail Sorry maybe i was a little to direct- but thats how we germans are.. :) As a Stalker Veteran that played all 3 previous Stalker games at release some 15 years ago- i just wanted to give you a hint. All i wanted to say is: The sooner you search and find Artefacts the sooner your Money problems will disappear. The deeper you go into the middle of the Zone (towards the Nuclear Power Plant) the better (more valuable) the Artefacts get. So everytime you come across an Anomaly- make it a habbit and pull out the scanner to see if there is an Artefact. Thats all- Have Fun :)
Hey renfail I just recently discovered ur channel and still fairly new into the stalker franchise.i have the trilogy but have played only the first one shadow of chornobyl.with stalker 2 it just takes it to a new level and I have been very impressed with the graphics, resource management, the atmosphere is unbelievable experience.this game is a hard-core survival horror open world.this is nothing like fallout.luckily I have a good buddy of mine who is a big stalker fan and has been giving me a lot of good tips and it is helped me out tremendously.i have read reviews on how people are running into this game like a battlefield, call of duty and fallout.this game plays nothing like those and with this game u can't approach it like those games.u have to carefully plan on what to do,maintaining ur weapons, ammo, health items, food, radiation.this game does not hold ur hand kinda like a dark souls or elden ring game.i constantly manually save every 10 minutes cuz u never know what will be around that corner.i am so far about 10 hours in and have died quite a bit but it has been a awesome experience.this game is not for everyone and coming from someone who never was a dark souls fan i grew to enjoy it and in a way stalker 2 is like those games.u need to have patience and know that u will die quite a bit.i believe u said u are playing on easy difficulty and it's not easy even on that mode.i am playing on stalker difficulty and even I am having a harder time but I'm enjoying every minute of it.
Went rookie, since I am a rookie to the franchise. Had to start over yesterday. I had to realise, I had used my resources wrong (no ammo left) and had not saved the game enough. So there was not anything to do than go from the start again. The survival part fills more than expected and taking the right decisions in the zone is a steep learning curve. But second time here has been much better. I am having fun and can see myself playing it for many hours.
The moment, I like to point out in your review, is @1:50, when the lighting struck - is the immersion. Makes me wanna hide in cover, as well. I am enjoying my experience with the game. See you in the Zone, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. I am recommending this game to everyone!
If you haven' t played the metro series, I highly recommend to do so. There are some similarities but on the other hand its a quite unique experience. It is like a not ending bunker/Lab-mission in Stalker. Both games have their own charakter and feeling. But definetly worth playing.
Youve seen nothing! This games gonna really rock n frikken roll in about a years time when many important mechanical, graphical and intelligence details get sorted out. This is one for the history boox.
This game kinda spoils us. In shadow of chernobyl there was a gun progression. The early guns couldn't shoot straight to save their lives. It was such a struggle till you started getting guns that shoot where you aim. Here, guns shoot perfectly off the rip. Which it is fun to just delete everything with headshots, but there was something to be said about that struggle the OG forced you through.
Welcome newcomer Stalker. As always one of the good ways earn many is to hunt and sell artifacts. So, find some good detector and study how to use it with a bolts to find artifacts... Happy gaming to all...

I started playing yesterday and can't seem to get very far without getting frustrated and quitting. I started the game on Medium difficulty because I am not a stranger to playing this kind of game. However, I have learned how much I suck at it when I don't have the full hud. I started with the default hud settings. So no crosshair. Plus I'm playing on a 17" laptop and it's difficult to see things at distance. With that said, I haven't really been having that much fun. The game looks phenomenal even running @ 1080P at Medium settings but the constant dying and reloading the last save is annoying AF Sounds like I need to swallow my pride and reduce the difficulty to "Easy"
5 hours in, and ngl economy needs to change because you do a job, mutants, 20 buck ammo, and if you want to buy ammo, it costs only half of the reward. Time in-game is so quick, it feels like a day in the game is like 30 minutes, which makes player hungry all the time and in opposite it seems it isn't requiring sleeping, i could be up for 2 or more days without sleep and no icon shows up. In many ways the game feels like a game from 2016, it lacks modern smart gamemaking but for me it is ok because i only care for the story element.
😂 Welcome to the zone stalker! Yeah this is a tough game and surviving is learning so much more than fighting, it's knowing how to spot anomalies, mutants etc, known how to deal with them. It's great haha in lore this isn't the apocalypse, there are tons of zones all over the planet, in the book it takes place here in Canada for instance. But yeah it's very much stalker, the entire place wants you dead 😂, it's been crazy as a long time vet seeing all the new people I know trying it out, learning all of the zones insane laws. But yeah i defs wouldn't call this an rpg, it's a hard core tactical shooter with some survival elements, gear matters but only as much as the person using it.
Having played and beaten the three original games on hard difficulty all I can say is it only gets worse. If you want a challenge these games will give it to you, if the new one is faithful to the previous three there is no hand holding. It's sink or swim and you better learn fast
alright so tell me how to survive my second encounter with a bloodsucker in starting zone (not the tutorial bloodsucker, that one is relatively easy to kill) when it still runs after I dump two mags and some granades into it, even if I lure it into friendly positions and everyone shoots at it then it still lives and is able to kill me with 2 hits. how in the fuck am I supposed to fight this thing. poltergeist as well.
Wait there's aim assist? I'm finding it a nightmare with a controller. One thing I can't stand is as soon as I jump on a car the dogs run away 😒 then come back instantly as soon as I step off it again. I may suck but I find them so hard to track
It's not non-stop. Sounds like you have an artifact equipped that may be doing that to you. The default is only in certain areas, and it wears off if you aren't in those areas. So that's something going on with you.
Fallout, DayZ, Metro, and some of Tarkov had a 4-way and then a baby that grew to make them all proud. Such is Stalker 2, which we have not yet even seen in its full anticipated glory.
Don't use aim assist. In my opinion, learning how to free aim is more satisfying, free aim TO ME feels like cheating. JMO....🤷♂️🤷♂️. Also, only carry ammo for the 3 weapons that you are carrying/using. Store all other ammo in your stash back at main camp, or sell it, it helps with weight reduction. Enjoy....It's a fantastic game. Good hunting Stalker!!!
I love this game so far, it seems like it's unique. Not just another FPS.
indeed!
Im 13 hours in and still in the first region. Damn this gonna be a 150-200 hour game if i want to discover everything 😮
Oh yeah
As someone who puts literally thousands of hours into the games i really like to play, that would be just getting started 🙂
Also devs have confirmed mod support so look forward to that in the future
Me too! There is so much to do and learn in the first area.
@TheParaxore yea it's "non stop" game
always fun listening to fresh stalkers and how they feel - good hunting man.

Not a fan of the non-stop radiation killing you I mean I get it maybe areas but non-stop killing it for me
It's not non-stop. Sounds like you have an artifact equipped that may be doing that to you. The default is only in certain areas, and it wears off if you aren't in those areas. So that's something going on with you.
@@Renfail Thank you figure it out thanks a lot for the help👌
Are you on Series X? And if so how does it look at run??
Perfectly.
If u need Money, loot guns/artefacts and sell it.
Yep!
Safe travels stalker
cheers
3 hours in and 60 deaths 😂😂
ouch!
I'm playing in easy mode. Is there anything less than easy 😆 this game doesn't play
For real. I'm feeling beat up on =P
Turn up the difficulty old man
Nope
Fallout, DayZ, Metro, and some of Tarkov had a 4-way and then a baby that grew to make them all proud. Such is Stalker 2, which we have not yet even seen in its full anticipated glory.
it's looking pretty glorious to me :)
That noise in the background wore me out.
Part of the game. Sometimes you gotta grow up.
No thanks.
I'm still trying to get used to it
