FreeCAD is a powerful and free CAD software package that is perfect for beginners. The user interface is intuitive and straightforward, making it easy for new users to start designing in 3D. My video series ‘FreeCAD For Beginners’ is one of the best FreeCAD tutorials for beginners you will find online. Very few FreeCAD training videos teach CAD the correct way, using parametric modelling. Regardless of my FreeCAD For Beginners series, this is just one of many resources available to beginners who want to get started with FreeCAD.
Not only is FreeCAD a great choice for beginners, it’s also a great option for those interested in 3D printing. FreeCAD has the ability to create 3D designs specifically optimized for 3D printing. Fusion 360 is a popular CAD software package, but with the recent changes to its license, many are looking for alternatives. If you’re looking for an alternative to Fusion 360 that is free, consider using FreeCAD. The FreeCAD vs Fusion 360 comparison is often in favour of FreeCAD due to its affordability and ease of use, making it a great alternative to Fusion 360.
This CAD beginner course is full of CAD Beginner tutorials which are great resources to learn the basics. If you’re looking for beginner friendly CAD software, FreeCAD is a great option. With its intuitive user interface and wide range of tutorials, FreeCAD is the perfect choice for CAD beginner.
To conclusion, if you’re looking for a free CAD software package, whether than be for 3D printing or simply for designing your own models, consider FreeCAD 0.20 in 2023. So many people are making the switch from Fusion 360 to FreeCAD, and whether you're just starting out as a CAD beginner or looking for a Fusion 360 alternatives free, FreeCAD is the way to go.
I believe this video is the best FreeCAD beginner guide on TH-cam. It is completely free of charge and covers all the basics, I hope you appreciate it.

I made this series for the makers and hobbyists out there. When Autodesk recently announced their personal license changes for Fusion 360, they let down a lot of people. But not to worry because there are other options out there, and one of them FreeCAD. I believe that this video is the best FreeCAD beginner guide on TH-cam, it covers all the basics and teaches sketching the proper way. - Gareth

Excellent video! Great job especially on explaining constraints. One useful feature that’s good to highlight for complete beginners is a shortcut to center the workspace view back on the part. It’s useful if they pan too far out of frame and lose their view. For instance I can double click the scroll wheel in fusion 360 if the model has gone out of frame, and it will recenter my view on the model automatically.

Thanks for the great tutorial. I'm 70 years old and you can't imagine how many CAD tutorials I've watched and was still confused. Now that I'm 3D printing I need something better than Tinkercad. Your Freecad tutorial made sense and gives me hope I have finally found a tool that I can use successfully!

Amazing tutorial for beginners, I have followed along thru the first two videos in the series so far and it has been awesome. My only thing to note for other people following along is at 16:30 you said it was asking for a diameter when in fact you had selected the radius tool rather than the diameter version. This is just something for people to take note of because if we set our diameter at half of what your is it will come out looking a bit different and some people may not catch why that happened. Otherwise, great job and thank you for making a great tutorial.

You can avoid needing to set the centre dimensions instead by using a centre constraint on the vertical/horizontal origin lines, this way if you resize the part rectangle it remains centred with respect to it's size.
You also never need to press "Update" in your sketches if you have "auto update" checked (this is the default).

Thank you so much. II have a 3D printer, and I've been using pre-made STL files, but I really want to make my own designs. This has boosted my confidence.

One of the best tutorials I’ve seen. I, like a lot of folks am moving from Fusion 360:and Tinkercad. This looks to be better and simpler than both. Thank you.

Thanks! I am totally newbie with 3D modeling and was struggling with Fusion and tutorials related to it. You articulate well and focus on relevant things. Plus you have good voice for education. With this video I managed to build simple foundation to use these tools. I also switched to FreeCAD as the UI is way more intuitive for beginner.
