Industrial Steel Warehouse Design and Modeling in Staad Pro V8i

  • Industrial warehouse is a important structure in industrial sector. It required long open space for working facility. Only two columns at two ends is handling the large span with slope roof and lightweight sheeting. In this video tutorial I have shown how to design a industrial steel warehouse full structure through 3D modeling in staad pro V8i. I have stated how to make 3d model then define member. Assign member with various load case and load assign. Load combination, analysis and design. I have also shown bracing, in this model I have used cable wire bracing. Finally I have shown how to find reaction for foundation design. This tutorial is a complete design process of industrial steel warehouse using build up section. I have not shown hot rolled section. But you can use any type of hot rolled section if you want from the software list.

    Great video , but you need to use Repeated load with Tension Member instead of normal combinations , because in your case Tension Member still Producing Compression force and affecting the design result

    Thanks for your efforts in making this video. However we need to use REPEAT LOAD instead of LOAD COMBINATION. Also for the rafter design in this case we must consider the LZ & LY parameters since you have made the rafter segmented. We also need to conduct Direct Analysis Method. In AISC 360 this method is stipulated in Chapter C. Thanks.

    Hi..Thanks, it was really a nice video to try modelling. I have a question, during post processing there were some beams / rafter whose value were more than 1 so you changed particular member size and again did run analysis. It brought some members value below 1, but there were still some member which were not green (or the value were more than 1). Why so??? And Do we need to do anything again for that? Pls respond. As I'm in a learning stage of Stadd Pro. Thanks again!!!

    nice video but your rafter sections are messed up after splitting them, also tension brace won't work if you combine your loads this way and finally you didn't assign Kz for columns

      Slope is 1:10, Divide the half of span by 10(Keep the unit any either mm or ft the result will be as per your unit)

      The way I have shown, no need to draw purlin. However you can draw purlin like beam but design parameter should be changed then.

      @@parmbirsinghgill3603 It depends upon size available used in your country. Plate thickness is 5,6,8,10,12,16,20,32 mm and width is 150-275. Depth usually 250-1000. But they are none fixed
