I LOVED the fact that you took so much time showing how to measure with the ruler…your drawing on the ruler helped me sooo much because I am fairly new with quilting and get SO confused when cutting things out. Thank you for taking the time to do that. This is such a cute quilt!

This was so good! I've got a gorgeous panel of approx. 7" butterfly blocks I want to cut apart and sash for a comfort quilt. It needs some purple in it for pancreatic cancer. Those coping strips are perfect for that. I've also got a baby shower coming up and I love the idea of the letters arranged to form words. Then the simple way to piece the blocks is a third idea I will use for the baby quilt. You've made both my jobs so much easier in one video!

I have never seen fussy cutting explained, that being said why didn't you cut it at 5.5 so you didn't loose the border design? In all the years of quilting I thought I was just supposed to know how to do this technique, hence I have never tried it. Thank you for taking the time to have this mini class. Your videos are amazing!

I think, since the block needed to be 6", the coping strips added to a 5.5" block would have been really fussy/narrow. Also, since some of the blocks were quite wonky, trimming them to 5" first allowed for a nicer (straighter) altered border. 😊

How big were the rectangles ? Were they 6 x 12? Distracted by other half & fur children.
