Listen to Time off of the Dark Side Of The Moon album. Most of their albums are considered concept albums and should be listened to in their entirety, as one song runs into the next , but they certainly can be played as a single. Pink Floyd are a very deep and artistic band. It will be an enjoyable ride.

Hello from Switzerland, you are absolutely right, education is the be-all and end-all for our children and their future (PinkFloyd is a GB band, not a US). The song doesn't necessarily just refer to school, but (probably) generally to the fact that children are told that you can do and learn whatever you want in your life until the time comes and then you tell them exactly that Wants to discourage projects because it's a "profitless" job, not the one your parents imagined, etc.
So far, the topic is basically as relevant today as it was back then, the song with the video reflects this excellently and the singing children are, so to speak, the garnish on the whole thing, along with of course the great guitar solo at the end.
Pink Floyd still have a few songs that are different in one way or another than the usual songs on the main stream, like Mother, Wish you were here, The Great Gig in the Sky, ... but mostly stick to those Live versions, although this song is definitely the one for which you should take the video.
This song was warning about what’s happened today with leftist run schools brainwashing children to be woke idiots and complete drones.

This song, as well as Comfortably Numb, are part of the double concept album, the Wall, which was a huge hit album, then movie back in the early 80s. Both the double record and movie should be experienced in one sitting when you can, they would freak you so out! Pink Floyd isb right there with Zeppelin for best band of that era, they demand your attention, and you get that right away! They so freaked us out back in the 70s, saw them doing psychedelics back in 75 & 77 in the old Boston Garden, I saw all of Dark Side Of the Moon with Echoes as the encore the first time, then all of Animals followed by all of Wish You Were Here the 2nd time. There is audio of these shows on You Tube and they are well worth searching for. Next, do Echoes, Live at Pompeii and see more greatness in their early prime, they are simply amazing at a unique setting in the ancient Roman Colloseum there. Enjoy pretty young lady, you Rock! There's a good chance that your musical taste will like Jean-Michel Jarre's 1976 album "Oxygene," or at least parts 1-3 of that suite. Yes, it is instrumental music, purely electronic, but it is by all means a noble musical gem. Be sure to give it a try!

Essa música faz parte do álbum The Wall, lançado em 1979. O álbum tem como mensagem central, dentre outras, denunciar todo tipo de tirania. A Inglaterra, até os anos 70, mantinha uma "política" que permitia aos professores aplicarem castigos físicos aos seus alunos.
A cena da esposa do prof. obrigando ele a comer mostra como a tirania pode estar nas pequenas coisas, até dentro de nossas casas e como isso era replicado na sala de aula.
Tem um filme do diretor Alan Parker que foi todo roteirizado a partir do álbum. Vale muito assistir. Vc encontra o filme aqui no YT.
