@@mronemanband1 You’re a second hander. Listen to his solos on that reunion disc from 2016. He’s dancing all over and under the originals in a very good way. George doesn’t need to play his solos rote like a scrub. He’s the creator.
I was a big dokken fan in their hey day. I've been listening to them for the last couple of weeks in the car....such a great band! Thank you for posting the video.
George lynch...the lynchster...my inspiration...my all time fav band back in the 80s...love u guys...don't dokken rocks..will see you don on March 11....
Not gonna lie they still kicked ass in this one. Sucks that Don doesn’t sound like he used to but cant complain when the 4 of them are back playing together!
I understand Don got cancer. But that's a lesson to not smoke, and if you're a singer take care of your voice! He had the voice of angels in the 80s. I also sat in front of Mick on a plane from PHX to DFW \m/
ROGER THOMPSON ahahahahahah WHAT THE FUCK???? You don't think Don was a smoker??? You know abso fucking lutely jack shit! God people post the dumbest shit! Dude just shut the fuck up and lay down and only post when you have a least a little knowledge of the given subject matter. Stupid shit...
At 62 years old, recently surviving cancer, having a vocal chords surgery, I am very thankful to have Don Dokken around. He is a survivor and just on that I show respect. George Lynch remains an Eddie Van Halen School Dropout, his style has nothing to do with Eddie Van Halen like most of his generation actually did. Mick Brown and Jeff Pilson are true creative masters inside and outside Dokken
These guys have amazing guitars!!! They are as much a part of the show as the music and the performance. George Lynch still has guns for arms. Can still rock out too!!!😍🤩😘🤪😎
As a guitar player that learned how to play on these songs, I hate it when he changes the solo. These are epic Dokken songs and should be played EXACTLY the way they were recorded. Steve
Didn't he piece these solos together in the studio through adjoining a bunch of licks? Punch recording and mix and matched them together? In many ways, he would have had to relearn his own solos, because of how edited they were. I just think he couldn't be bothered to learn them or simply couldn't play them when the way they came out on the recording.
Man shut up. George wrote the damn song and can play it how he damn well pleases. Its gets boring real quick if you're playing everything how it was written note for note, especially if you've been playing these songs as long as he has. Theres nothing wrong with being creative.
killer! good to see the band back together again! Wish the Lynch solo woulda been more inspiring, closer to the original. He shoulda gone more BEASTMODE! :)
I wish George could get back to his old tone & quit "experimenting" with blusey, dry effects. Especially in his latest performances. Put away the beat up fenders & les Paul's & get back to what made metal fans & musicians admire him. Kick ass tone, cool guitars & shredding it up accurately.
You know that "tone is in the fingers" old wives tale...); Well George used to have it a lot more than now. But only because he uses less gain now. Tone is in the fingers is just another way of saying whether you can fret notes properly and make the best up and down pick harmonics, not matter how small, smaller the better. Which comes naturally to players.
I love George, but when he just wanders off and improvises everything he usually loses what's cool about his playing. I get that it would be boring to play the same solo the same way for 30 years, but maybe just a hint of the original melodic content or at least 30% of a plan and 70% improvising would be nice. He's still got amazing chops though.
Agreed. The original solo was great. This was something like you'd expect on a scratch track or something. This is just lazy playing (and I love GL, he is one of my all time favorites)
In the old days you needed to know what pedal did what and what sound.. and it was all part of it.. so consider it retro if you must.. but it a part of all serious guitarists from previous generations..

matrixx29 no dude, was jamming with George like every rhythm/lead does he was already playing the chords when don walked over...I think George needs to show don the vocal chords he's supposed to play if anything
I love george but he's at the age where his fingers slow down making him sound sloppy when he does his solo solos, its either that or he cant remember them for the light of day. Atleast his rhythm is still solid his tone most times.
they only did the show for the money. think that was a million bucks. Lynch said on Eddie trunk that he wanted to do the show and wanted an American tour but wanted all monies divided equally. Don wasn't for it.
Gotta love George giving new solos every performance, much in the tradition of Michael Schenker.

They still sound better than today’s garbage.
Always been my favorite song by DOKKEN. This one didn't sound too bad! George is singing back-up??? WOW!
Lynch is still one of the best ever. Don Dokken sounds pretty good on vocals as well
First song I ever heard by Dokken...loved it the first time I heard it.. the solo really got me..
All about George! Where the focus should be. Don and his singing is an afterthought.

great memories! Thank you for sharing!
Don Dokken has always been a great vocalist.
Dokken is still Rokken!!!
LIVING LEGENDS !🤟😎
Thank you for filming Lynch most of the time with quality footage!
I think Don sounds pretty good, considering it's 30+ years, and a few big macs later. Definitely serviceable for the fans.
Hes lost a good amount of weight but his body basically shut down.
See how well you age sir! Metabolism slows with age and these guys are in their 60’s.

Yes. NWA Power Season 1 brought me here
Oh, George is playing the Lynch Mob guitar, I have that guitar.
I noticed that too.
Lee Ellison Cheers, I own that guitar an it's one of my favorites that George played.

@@aronmaslan6604 well that is not true i have heard that almost all of his solos where improvised.

S Des man. I said the exact same thing. !!!!
Holy Shit is this the original line up??
Indeed it is..
Actually, Juan Crucier, the bass player from Ratt was the original bass player, but Jeff was there through it all.
they were my all time favorite band, until don got an ego and drove george and jeff away, this song made me want to grab a guitar and rock out
Don still sings amazing!!!!
Let's be honest....we're all here for George Lynch. Legend.
Awesome!
Harmonies in the vocals are rough, but .. They still jam.
George Lynch is like a caged lion .... Set him free and let him Rock !!!
Terminator of the guitar world
OH YEAH!!!!
Respect to Gorge as basic as the cords he pick for this song . There's quite few changes in it.
when they try to make a great solo more fancier than how they wrote it originally... oh man they lose everytime..

Agree
geroge lynch still plays good
he rips a nasty solo like how my dad plays gatur
Old school
sounds nice and loud and clear if you were there live.
We're good

George is playing his own song wrong...
Your so wrong he changes it and that’s what makes him so good ! Something new not the same old a new taste. That solo was amazing

No Paul, Alex Lifeson is king of the pedals and the guitar kid.
I,m sorry that Don's condition. Still, I'm grad that George, Jeff, MIck play tooth and nail. Now, their tunes have been fascinated.
Still, His Voice is good, considering all Don has gone through.....

Nice
After the show Don drop the kids off at soccer practice and then went to buy some candles at the mall.

Yep Its all about the money nowdays. Back in the 80s when I saw them live they did for the fans.
There in it for the money because of how the music industry is today

Are you serious? I love Don Dokken, but I have no illusions about the state of his voice.
Hes voice is gone. But George still kick ass.
Are you kidding?
Do a search for PAUL ROGERS or CF TURNER from BTO, those guys have retained their voice, not Don unfortunately!
LOL His voice is gone with the wind.

Agreed. Was waiting for a George Lynch solo. Into The Fire is my all time favorite Dokken song.
George cant get used to that sustainiac that was installed on that guitar
When did Don start playing the guitar?
Since forever
He didn't play at all when I saw him in concert....about 30 years ago.
forever...
I'm not surprised Don playing the Guitar .A lot of the front men play the Guitar or Bass but ended up just singing most of the time.
If you saw the video for Breaking the Chains, he played guitar.
