I've got the exact watch yet have never been able to 'link' the phone to the watch for any notification. I do hope you get to read this one of these months and let us know. I have exaclty the same watch the model the eqb-501 but when I keep pressing the bluetooth button nothing happens neither I hear the beep sound for the connection. In casio they informed me to left the watch for 6 hours to sunlight and repeat the proccess. Is it possible to happen due to low battery state? I left the watch to the sunlight for 3-4 hours but bluetooth button still does not work
I recently became interested in the Edifice line after seeing a Japanese import on Amazon that is both solar and radio controlled. The EQW models are Tough Solar and multiband 6, but unfortunately Casio doesn't sell them in the US. However Amazon sells them as imports sometimes. They are a bit pricier, but I prefer having multiband 6 than having to pair it with my phone and mess with another app. Cheers!
Hi there. Thanks for the review. I have an EQB 500. After connecting to the app the watch don't show the local time. I have to set it manually. Pls help if you know the wayout.I have tried this after reinstalling the app few times. The also dont show the battery charged status.
I have the same exact watch. I really enjoy it. App works great and paired with the watch instantly. Thanks very much for your in detailed review and I learnt few new things as well. The most disappointing thing is how expensive and rare these replacement bracelets and links are when you require expansion. 👍
Great video Greg. Have you seen the new line of squares out with upgraded backlighting? And some new features. They added a letter U in the model, for example GW-5000U-1JF. Or dw5610u. Not a single video on TH-cam yet
I have seen them on eBay but the prices are high. For example, the GW-M5610U for $192, about double the price of the previous version. There must be better deals out there elsewhere. I wonder if there will be better deals on the one which is intended to be sold in the EU. I’m waiting to see. It looks like the watch basically does everything that the Bluetooth squares can do except for functions tied directly to Bluetooth. Some folks will really like things like being able to change the duration of the backlight, the ability to show either M.DD or DD.M and the ability to show local time when it’s in stopwatch and countdown modes.
I forgot to mention that one of these watches arrived with a low battery. It was still running but some functions were not available. No big deal. I just let it sit in sunlight for a couple of hours and everything worked. I gave it more sunshine the next day and it reached a full charge.

It is precisely the one I want to buy, and I looked in many places about the crystal, and the casio website does not specify it, but on several other websites they say that it is mineral. If it were made of sapphire, I would say it somewhere on the watch like most
Since you ‘noted’ it on this videos’s thumbnail, I always wondered: what is is use of a 24 hour sub-dial? I could understand if one were to work, say, in a mine underground and couldn’t tell if it’s AM or PM… but that does seem to be an odd example. Why make it a feature of so many watches? If, of course, it is an independently adjustable 24 hour sub-dial for a 2nd time zone… that is, IMHO, a useful feature. Thank you.
Say you are on a long flight across times zones like New york to Austrailia. Once you hit Australia it you will be using your main dial to tell the time and the sub dial will be the time back home. The am/pm will let you know that back home weather its night or day back home. You've crossed so many time zones that while its morning in Queensland in New york it will be night and the previous day still.

If it’s an independently adjustable 24h sub-dial, then I can definitely see its use. If it only shows whether ‘now’ it is am/pm, then IMHO it just clutters-up the watch face.
The higher end edifices fly under the radar. Super accurate and functional, solar, sapphire glass etc etc. Ive had mine a year and its running at -+ 2 secs a year, ridiculous accuracy. I bought mine new secondhand for 150 GBP, bargain
I have an EQB 800 EDIFICE bluetooth connected the watch despite of its size ( 53mm) is very good looking but infortunately the app is pretty bad , ( CASIO+) the only problem in more than 30 years! I can foregive this! I recently bought a G-SHOCK GST B300 full steel made and the result is perfect, beautiful watch and good app... CASIO and SEIKO, remain by far, my favorite brands

Turns out that when I got these watches I also bought a tough solar Edifice which was clearly labeled as a sapphire crystal watch. So I guess I got confused about how many Edifice watches use sapphire crystals. I will write up a correction this week when I will make some more videos.

Manual setup is pretty much the same as the GW3000 but at least you have a crown to turn. OMG the GW3000 is a real pain in the a**e to setup.
